The hotel is located right on the beach which was so convenient and we didn't need to pay for the beach loungers as the hotel was right there. We booked the high floor suite which had an amazing view and was very spacious. The hotel put accomodated our request and gave us rooms next to each other which was great. Very clean and comfortable with great working Air-con. Live music every evening. The pool was well kept and clean and very aesthetic. The hotel is an oasis of beauty and calm. The decor is welcoming, not overwhelming like some five star resorts. There is a difference between being fussed over and cared for. The air quality on the island is wonderful so it is a great pleasure just to sit on the comfortable balcony chairs, look at the pool & the ocean and BREATHE. Just out the door is a lively holiday town with every practical thing you might need.

Lovely welcome at this beautiful hotel as soon as we arrived. This was our 2nd time here and we hope to return again. It has such a lovely relaxing feel to the place. Our room was spacious and comfortable, nice quiet air con which was badly needed when we were there. You can't hear noise from any other rooms so we slept really well every night. The breakfast in the morning has plenty of choice to suit everyone, both hot & cold food is fresh and plentiful. Pool is lovely and a perfect temperature. People still get up at crazy hours to put their towels on seats around the pool but there really is no need as they are plentiful and you will get one at any time of the day, staff also keep an eye that towels are not left with no-one on them for hours which is great. The location is perfect for us. A short taxi journey to old town etc but just beside the hotel there are plenty of shops, restaurants & bars and the beach is just across the road and is just beautiful so you don't need to go to far for anything. It's a very safe area to go on nice long walks at any time of the day/night. The airport is a short 10min taxi journey away so very handy to get to. Can't say enough good things about this place and will hopefully be returning again soon.

The Island Out of This Planet

Volcanic Lanzarote, one of the Spanish Canary Islands, features the dramatic landscapes of the Timanfaya National Park and the lush beaches of Papagayo and Blanco. From the moment we arrived on Dec 20 staff greeted us with warm friendly welcome # welcome drink they couldn't do enough for us nothing was never a issue beautiful hotel, Amazing views great food choices our room 569 was fabulous balcony with two sun loungers,two chairs table we got the sun all day so often sunbath on it😎👍🏼spa definitely worth a visit also we had great couples massage on Xmas eve🥰🥂 the walk to the marina is about 10 mins also a fab market there # sat and weds get some bargains also beautiful restaurants,playa balnca is another 15 mins walk on down with lots shops bars , restaurants, supermarket Christmas day gala was fab so.much effort from all the staff very chilled place just to switch off and relax not a place if you want to party

We really enjoyed the location near Faro Park. It’s away from the busy centre of Playa Blanca, but still very convenient with a hire car, a short walk to the bus route, or a quick taxi ride to the town and Rubicón Marina. The villa is also close to the beautiful coastal walkway from the lighthouse to the marina, which was a real highlight and made for a lovely daily walk. The facilities were excellent, especially the private pool, outdoor BBQ area, and the lovely rooftop terrace with sea views. Inside, the villa was very well equipped and comfortable, and the host was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions

This year, when we decided to return to Lanzarote there was no doubt which place to book:-) Alava Suites is an exquisite butique hotel which ensures you can charge your batteries and enjoy the island's unique atmosphere. The breakfast is amazing, the staff is friendly and professional. The hotel is well-equipped and all the premises are perfectly clean. Hopefully we come back soon. Great weather, many top class restaurants and bars that we have visited for the last 30 years+ and a very large 1st class beach. We stayed only 200m behind the main strip and had no issues with noise.

Been visiting Playa Blanca for 22 years. We love it. Resturants can be hit and miss so a few suggestions. Excellent Ones -  Puerto Blanco (best in Playa Blanca), Port of Call,  L'Artista, La Flamenca, Ones to definitely avoid - Tipico Canario, Grill Volcan De Timanfaya, La Gondola

There are some really nice restaurants in the area at good...

There are some really nice restaurants in the area at good prices, a few too many Irish themed bars. Very clean streets and careful drivers. Its well worth a visit, it also has a great public bus service. No negative points, all good.

Like a lot of towns/cities all over the world, many shops...

Like a lot of towns/cities all over the world, many shops have closed and the city centre has suffered 'cos of the internet. Arrecife was a thriving centre a few years ago but is much quieter now. That's not to say it isn't still a nice place to go - but don't expect a bustling city centre.

All local people, no tourists to speak of. Lots of lovely restaurants & shopping with a very easy stroll. Beach lovely. Great atmosphere. Very peaceful location. Wonderful if you love aircraft spotting!

A beautiful, well equipped apartment, very clean and looked after.... If you don't mind not having a balcony to sit out on to relax in the sun, then this place is as good as it gets for the price.

Beautiful villa, so lovely and clean. Great views.

Beautiful villa, so lovely and clean. Great views. All rooms were a great size and the balconies upstairs had a great views. The kitchen was very well equipped however when using the oven it tripped all the electrics every time we used so this may need looking at. Apart from that I have zero complaints and I’d definitely go again. There’s even an outdoor area to do laundry which was great and positioned perfectly. The beds were all comfy as was the sofa and outdoors there was ample sunbeds around the pool and a great bbq area and outdoor dining area. Honestly I’d highly recommend you visit here if you want a chilled, stress free and quiet holiday.

Teguise being so central made it the perfect base to explore...

Teguise being so central made it the perfect base to explore the island. Having the pool at our villa, we didn’t miss being by a beach - the closest one is only 15 mins away. Teguise is well set up for tourists but maintains an authentic feel. The market on a Sunday is when this sleepy town to life!

We’ve been visiting Puerto Calero for about 23 years now and...

We’ve been visiting Puerto Calero for about 23 years now and we love the area. We love the walks to Playa Quemada where there are three excellent restaurants right on the shore and also Puerto del Carmen. We always pay a visit to probably the best restaurant on the island - La Cabana at Macher (5 mins from PC by taxi), owned by Darren and Debbie. The food is exceptional! Sometimes we hire a car in Puerto Calero and visit other areas of the island, this last time (March 26) we didn’t but it gave us the time to go walking! Whilst the marina in Puerto Calero has changed over the years that we’ve been visiting - the shops all seem to have gone and some of the bars and restaurants need to brush up on their customer service skills, we still love it! Upper Deck bar is fab to while away an afternoon or evening and we ate at La Portena steak restaurant and the Pizza restaurant (La Marguerite?) underneath La Portena. We look forward to returning, hopefully in 2027!

“A Relaxing End to Our Cycling Trip”

“A Relaxing End to Our Cycling Trip” We were cycling around the island and decided to end our journey at Casa Serena, as we were returning home the next day and it is conveniently located just about 15 minutes from the airport. It turned out to be the perfect choice: we slept like babies, the bed was super comfortable, the facilities were quiet, with beautiful views, and the staff was very kind. On top of that, we can’t forget the amazing breakfast waiting for us in the morning – such a treat! We will definitely come back to Lanzarote, and next time we’ll spend more days at Casa Serena, as we truly wished we could have stayed longer.
