The staff was friendly, helpful and we also got treats for our dog from staff. <3 The spa was great with nice views and hiking in Koli was accessible and pleasant. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Paimentupa to the trailhead. In less than an hour, you can hike to Paha-Koli, Akka-Koli and Ukko-Koli, and other hiking trails. The layout and color of the room are elegant and warm, and it is also very clean. It makes people feel like home and very comfortable. It is highly recommended to those who want to travel to Koli National Park. I stayed three nights and really enjoyed my stay there. Paimentupa also offers horseback riding experiences on forest trails, which is also highly recommended. The owner provided considerable assistance, making it smooth for me to get there even by public transportation.

We spent a few days at Koli Freetime and enjoyed every single moment. The location is so peaceful, the staff was very friendly. The cottage is perfect for a family of four. We also loved the small sauna cottage with access to the lake for ice bathing. The cross country track starts directly at the property. Temperatures were really low (-31 degrees Celsius in the morning) but the cottage was warm and cozy. Big thanks for providing providing country skis for our grandson free of charge.
We can absolutely recommend the place if you love the peacefulness of the Finnish nature.

Very comfortable, superbly appointed, brilliant location. Hosts were very helpful and patiently assisted with date errors in my original booking ( booked for June dates instead of July to coincide with our trip from Australia 😣, didn’t realise until a couple of days before we were expected at Pielislinna )

The room was clean and cozy. The house and the surrounding land were very nice with direct access to a lake. There were different types of boats available for free of charge. The sauna facilities were also great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and only cost around 10 euros.

Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years...
Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years of erosion during the Ice Age, so the trails and hills are covered with large and small rocks. There are rich landscape changes during the journey. In autumn, the leaves are dyed red, yellow and orange. With a variety of colorful scenes, Koli National Park is a great place to enjoy autumn scenery. Climbing up the hills, you will see a 180-degree view of the lake unfolding in front of you, and you will be shocked by the magnificent scenery - and the trails are also very beautiful. The signs are very clear, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost if you’re walking alone.

There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village,...
There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village, plus also another hotel on the top of the hill "Koli". Neart he village also "Räsävaara" observation tower allowing good views to the forest landscape and lake. Also the new hotel in the Kolinkylä village is easy to see from observation tower. You need a car to get around.

It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking...
It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking options. Few other locations along with Koli are close by in case you wish to see more. Very easy to get to see the Akka-, Ukko- and Paha-Koli and enjoy the view to lake Pielinen. I recommend to drive also to the harbour and see lake Pielinen also from the shore.
