IsraelThe house keeper was always in touch, and helped with directions.
The cottage is very clean. It has a huge space: three rooms + living room + kitchen, sauna, bathroom and toilet. Everything works fine. The kitchen has everything to cook on and to eat from. The living room has nice fireplace.
The house is lovely decorated in every small things: we felt secure and home by living there.
There is also separate building of private wood-burning sauna on the cottage territory.
Koli nature reserve is in 10 minutes drive - and is a nature wonder!
There is complete silence everywere - it brings a lot of relaxation and peace to the soul.
Planning to return there on the autumn season also.

Wonderfull stay in a wonferfull place. The camping is near a quite lake about 10km far from koli village, in the middle of a nature area. Our cottage was an old style ones with private wooden sauna. It was fantastic. The cottage has private barbecue and kitcken fully equipped. If you are looking for some days alone from noise and in touch with nature (trekking bike canoes or just silent and relax..) it's the best place. The staff is helpfull and kind and it was sad to let the cottage.

The room was clean and cozy. The house and the surrounding land were very nice with direct access to a lake. There were different types of boats available for free of charge. The sauna facilities were also great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and only cost around 10 euros.

Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years...
Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years of erosion during the Ice Age, so the trails and hills are covered with large and small rocks. There are rich landscape changes during the journey. In autumn, the leaves are dyed red, yellow and orange. With a variety of colorful scenes, Koli National Park is a great place to enjoy autumn scenery. Climbing up the hills, you will see a 180-degree view of the lake unfolding in front of you, and you will be shocked by the magnificent scenery - and the trails are also very beautiful. The signs are very clear, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost if you’re walking alone.

There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village,...
There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village, plus also another hotel on the top of the hill "Koli". Neart he village also "Räsävaara" observation tower allowing good views to the forest landscape and lake. Also the new hotel in the Kolinkylä village is easy to see from observation tower. You need a car to get around.

It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking...
It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking options. Few other locations along with Koli are close by in case you wish to see more. Very easy to get to see the Akka-, Ukko- and Paha-Koli and enjoy the view to lake Pielinen. I recommend to drive also to the harbour and see lake Pielinen also from the shore.
