LuxembourgThe stay was excellent. I felt like being in an hotel in the USA National Parks... The hotel was new, rooms and especially beds were extremely comfortable, breakfast was great and we had dinner one night and it was good and at a reasonable price. Sauna available for guests (for free). Driving to the national park is only a couple of kilometres. Overall a great experience and we will definitely come back!

AustraliaExcellent location close to the harbour and hiking trails. Had own sauna with lake access. Really well appointed with full sized fridge. Cabin was warm and spacious. Hosts were friendly and very responsive! Also had access to a row boat, table tennis, darts and mökki which was great fun. The Kota had a great atmosphere too. Our cabin had a great verandah with our own grilli.

There is everything you need for basic cooking in the kitchen, even a mixer. All dishes are top quality.
Fireplace is great - very cosy and easy to use.
I highly recommend this stay.

Everything was brilliant – from the host's responses to our messages beforehand, to the directions provided and the warmth, comfort and layout of the house. The kids loved the games, and we used the sauna and fireplace many times after skiing. Koli ski resort was amazing at arranging snowshoe tours, XC skiing and sharing details of the surrounding area. The small town is peaceful, with a good supermarket (with petrol), cafe and pub. The drive from Helsinki was fine with well maintained roads, although there had not been a big snowfall for some time. This meant easy driving, but there was still a deep snow-covering in Koli, perfect for skiing and adventures on the frozen lake. Thank you. WE LOVE KOLI!!

Nice, beautiful location, great personnel, clean rooms. Everything was great!
When booking, I did not notice that economy apartments with 2 rooms does have a bathroom, but without a shower. There is a sauna building 100m away having a set of showers to be used for such accommodations. The host was so kind to find an option in the main building having a bathroom with the shower inside. That mentioned sauna is open for guests daily in the evening for free + there is an ice hole to swim after sauna 😁

Very comfortable, superbly appointed, brilliant location. Hosts were very helpful and patiently assisted with date errors in my original booking ( booked for June dates instead of July to coincide with our trip from Australia 😣, didn’t realise until a couple of days before we were expected at Pielislinna )

Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years...
Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years of erosion during the Ice Age, so the trails and hills are covered with large and small rocks. There are rich landscape changes during the journey. In autumn, the leaves are dyed red, yellow and orange. With a variety of colorful scenes, Koli National Park is a great place to enjoy autumn scenery. Climbing up the hills, you will see a 180-degree view of the lake unfolding in front of you, and you will be shocked by the magnificent scenery - and the trails are also very beautiful. The signs are very clear, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost if you’re walking alone.

There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village,...
There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village, plus also another hotel on the top of the hill "Koli". Neart he village also "Räsävaara" observation tower allowing good views to the forest landscape and lake. Also the new hotel in the Kolinkylä village is easy to see from observation tower. You need a car to get around.

It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking...
It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking options. Few other locations along with Koli are close by in case you wish to see more. Very easy to get to see the Akka-, Ukko- and Paha-Koli and enjoy the view to lake Pielinen. I recommend to drive also to the harbour and see lake Pielinen also from the shore.
