Another great holiday at Käringsund resort. Perfect for a family trip for a week with children aged between 11-15. Special thanks and respect to the beach shed crew serving customers with so many activities. Especially the water sports man was so kind, friendly and professional with the kids. Much appreciated for the service. Nice weekly program for activities with children.

Very local and authentic feeling of the whole place with classic style of the rooms and common spaces. A nice resort to stay at if you are looking for something else than a standard hotel.
Breakfast was very good and local.
Car is recommended to have while staying there as it is on the country side.

This is a small town, very picturesque and rather low-key.
This is a small town, very picturesque and rather low-key. The beautiful historic houses and greenery and views of water from every standpoint are magical. It's great to explore by bicycle. To reach more distant points of the main island, there are regular public buses to take you, as a tourist, to most of these. Some are landing points for inter-island ferries; others are to historic landmarks and museums. It's a charming destination for an inner journey, commuting with nature, filling your lungs with the freshest of air, and exploring the island's colorful past. And there are some excellent restaurants too!

This kind of place and trip is recommended for those who love Norsdic scenery, the views are stunning, the stay at camping helps to feel you as a part of beatiful nature. I highly recopmmend to visit Kastelholm castle with excursions in Finnish, Swedish and English included into the entrance ticket 10 eu and Café Uffe på berget on the top of the hill, with sightseeing tower.

The island is perfect to move around with the bike. Landscape is very relaxing. Public transport has limited frecuency, so check out before planning the trip, specially if you have to take a boat. Taxis are available as well.

Beautiful old church, monastery ruins and the church path...
Beautiful old church, monastery ruins and the church path with lovely sheep you could pet and feed while walking. Many places to watch birds. Lovely island in all: the shop had all you needed, Brudhäll hotel had excellent food and the ferry ride went well. There were people with Carl, bikes and boats. Some just walked, because distances are short.

Definitely worth visiting—a genuinely pleasant experience. That said, one can’t help but feel that in Europe’s smallest metropolis, shops exist mostly to enjoy their time off. We spent five days there; for the first three, everything was completely closed—shops and restaurants.
And when the shops finally opened, it was almost as if they were doing us a favour—just a few brief hours, then back to their well-earned rest.
Understandably, during the peak summer holiday, the locals are fully entitled to enjoy themselves. Still, if they were out in the open rather than tucked away behind walls, visitors might at least have a chance to share in their joy—or at least catch a glimpse of it.
