Dreamy place and location! Super spot to watch the northern lights, with a beautiful deck at the lake facing north. Manager and Maija did everything for us to feel comfortable (and as hot as possible 😁 ) even while freezing aurora watching! Rooms where great, evening snacks and wine where lovely. I will definitely miss this place!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Kemijärvi! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how immaculately clean and well-maintained the entire hotel was. I had a really pleasant stay at Academy Hotel Kemijärvi. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and I was able to check in and out close to the times my night train was arriving and leaving. (Easy walk from the train station) The cabin was very clean and comfortable and I really enjoyed the view over the lake and sitting by the fire that I made in the woodstove. A heavy stone thing that you fire up for a few hours and then it radiates heat for the next 20. It was wonderful! The sauna was also a nice bonus. Easy to use and if you don't know how to, the hosts were happy to explain things or come over to help. So very relaxing stay, and when I got tired of the view I could log on to netflix and relax some more. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great location near the lake with beautiful views. Good choice if you want some privacy to enjoy the nature. Holiday home is very well equipped, there is everything you could possibly need. Sauna and fireplace is nice bonus. We had magical time.

Had a problem with the original cabin, got another cabin right away. Super friendly and speedy service! Location is very close to town's main streets, yet surprisingly quiet. Could hear and see swans and other birds on the lake throughout the evening. The beach was only a few steps away from the cabin and was excellent for swimming. The kitchenette had all the appliances and utensils needed. I even did some yoga on the floor, that's how clean it was, as was the rest of the cabin.

We loved the location right by the lake, especially with the outdoor fire where you can cook your meals and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Everything was spotless. The host was also very kind, when we asked, he gladly washed the clothes we had from our trekking trip.

The house is fully consistent with the description on the website. On the day of arrival there were severe frosts somewhere around 30, but the house was warm, so to speak, we were greeted warmly.))) And also beautiful nature, the house is located on the shore of a large lake. I plan to come there in the summer to see the beauty of this place.
