We had such a wonderful stay at the Igluhut with the reindeer! Ville and Ella were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Ville showed us the reindeer and taught us how to feed them—you can see how passionate he is about these beautiful animals. The Igluhut itself was cozy, warm, and perfect for the setting. In the evening, we received our food, which was absolutely delicious. One of the highlights was being able to see the reindeer right from our cabin and even feed them in the evening and morning—it felt so special and magical. Overall, it was such a unique and memorable experience, and we’d love to return one day!

I had booked an airport hotel as my trip was very short and I didn't want to spend too much time commuting but when this property popped up on Booking.com with a Genius discount I thought, this is a must-see! A major selling point was the free sauna, convenient location in the town where I had my business meetings and the great reviews about the breakfast. Upon arrival at Backby I was transported to a fairy like destination. The landscaping, the buildings, the air that was pure and fresh. Everything felt magical. I slept soundly in the firm single bed and enjoyed a superb breakfast buffet the next day! Even more special the sun was out in all it glory on my second day so I was able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace with a view of the lush Finnish forest. I sat outside for two hours in the sunshine enjoying a three- course breakfast of fresh berries with yoghurt, bread and pastries with sausages, and specially made hot chocolate! This place makes me want to return to Finland!
