“We had such a lovely stay at this hotel and honestly couldn’t fault a thing. The beds were incredibly comfortable — we had the best night’s sleep we’ve had in ages! The hotel itself, along with the surrounding area, was spotless, clean, and very well kept, which made the whole stay even more relaxing. We travelled with our two dogs and felt so welcome from the moment we arrived. The hosts were absolutely lovely, friendly, and accommodating, making us feel right at home. Breakfast was also fantastic and the perfect start to the day. A wonderful, peaceful stay all round and we’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend!”

The house looks just lovely in its location. Our room on the ground floor was very nice and comfortable, with a great view on the surrounding lawns and fields from our window and terrace. The breakfast was very good; the hotel provides pre-printed notes with items to choose from to avoid food waste (with regard to the choices of bread it could be made clearer that the items to choose from, like croissants and so on, are additional to the several sorts of bread that are available at the buffet anyway). We will certainly choose Villa Walbaum again if we ever come back to this region.

A perfect hideaway which we cant wait to return to for a longer stay. Superb room with everything you could want. Beautiful grounds and a quite exceptional property which has been sympathetically renovated. Cyril and his wife were very welcoming and could not be more obliging. The Table d'hotes was fantastic and very reasonably priced with excellent wine choices. Also great local beers. Very relaxing.

The bastide is wonderfull! The road to get there was challenging, I would not particularly enjoy driving it at dark but for afternoon and day it was perfect. The view however gives the reward. They have a nice restaurant and the staff is truly magnificent. So nice and caring. Also it was very quiet which as a couple without kids we treasure.

Very kind and helpful personnel; we got a lot of hints what we could do in terms of touristic activities around the camp site. We booked a canoe tour starting directly at the beach of the campsite and at the end of the 14km tour were picked up by a bus and brought back. Excellent service.

A wonderful setting under the hills and vinyards adjacent to...

A wonderful setting under the hills and vinyards adjacent to the majestic River Rhone, the town's history is readily on display with its prominent chateau, medieveal church and Marc Seguin's pioneering suspension bridge, all across the river from its sister town of Tain.

The accommodation we had was awful. The room had an ensuite bathroom without an exhaust fan, so it smelled terrible. The bed made noise whenever we moved in it. Privas itself is a rather uninteresting small town.

Lovely French town with weekly markets and lovely shops and...

Lovely French town with weekly markets and lovely shops and restaurants. Great base to visit the wider area of the Ardeche for walking, canoeing and cycling. Lavender field, caves and wine making visits and other towns all accessible by car. Apartment complex also a good venue for chilling days between visits, with pool table tennis and boule.

It was a perfect midway overnight stop.

It was a perfect midway overnight stop. The main town which was over the river bridge did not have any restaurants or takeaway open (It was early January and of course Covid rules were enforced at this time. Fortunately hot dinner was available at the hotel and was remarkably good

Annonay is a very beautiful town in the mountains.

Annonay is a very beautiful town in the mountains. Rains alot. Lots of scenery within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. Parking is easy and if not on the property, one is within a 2 minute walk and covered with security cameras. Very secure. The owners of the local bar in front of the hotel are outstanding! they speak French (of course), English and Spanish and treated us as family. I am going back again!

Loved the history had fantastic weather friendly locals and good food couldnt ask for better and not overun with tourists. Get used to tight narrow streets if driving which could be a challenge and lots of one way streets, Great bakery 20mtrs from the door,
