Tours is a bustling and unspoilt French provincial city. There are many historic and beautiful buildings. churches the chateau and the Musee des Beaux Arts. Streets have many fascinating visitas. It is also a cosmopolitan city with communities from around the world adding to its fascination. Hidden gem only 30 mins from the coast. Historic Roman sites! Small city to walkaround. Beautiful walks along river with fishermen. A nice little town with a small grassed area on front of cafes and bars giving it a spacious feel. Many restaurants to choose from as well as local amenity shops. Cinema in the centre. Parking along the roadside free in many places. Pleasant to walk around the many small winding streets. Train station in town too. I needed to find a bed without any dinner or other...
I needed to find a bed without any dinner or other facilities late in the day and only for the night as would be moving on early the next day. Therefore cost was the primary concern. It was cheap and the bed comfortable, though the room noisy when other guests were moving around the building or noisy in their rooms. Don't take breakfast option, it was poor value and not as you might expect when at reception. Behind reception is a pleasant looking restaurant, however breakfast for this hotel is in a side room which is not so pleasant and with not a great selection of food and drink.
