Argentat is a great centre for enjoying the Eastern Limousin and River Dordogne. There is beautiful scenery with good walks and great views. It's very accessible from the A20 motorway
Excellent location for exploring the glorious countryside of the Limousine.
We can enjoy very much typical Limousin scene with tranquility surrounded by forest. Since no restaurants and no shops are found, we need to go to Limoges city for dinner and shopping.
Limoge as a town is not spectacular and feeling the hard times. However it has an honest French Southern town feel to it and Limousin is an excellent place for walking with fewer tourists than the Loire or further South
Rather nondescript village, but quite close to the A 20 motorway. Might be a useful base for exploring the Limousin, but probably best as a stop over to/from the South.
Limoges is a beautiful little gem in the Limousin region of France. It's perfect for a short stay and dose of French culture. There are many typical french restaurants and some nice bars to try out. Le Quartier de la Boucherie is something special, like taking a step back in time to Medieval Limoges. The old city around the Cathedral is also very special! I would highly recommend visiting here!
Blond is a small village in the Limousin area, not much too do but quiet and enjoyable...a nice stop en route to many stops in the French countryside!
Friendly, small town in Limousin with fantastic church. Spent 14th July celebrating with the locals at the Mairie's, watching fantastic firework display.
A small town with good restaurants, interesting history and good location from which to explore the Limousin and nearby regions: Berry, Charente and Perigord Noir.

It's exactly like they promised, you receive absolute privacy, but the owners live just next door if you have any questions or if there's anything they can do to improve your stay. So in fact the only living creatures which can bother you during your stay are a few Limousin cows living in the fields next to the premises. Loved the pool and the honesty bar, which comes in handy when you want to to pop open another bottle of wine and find your own fridge empty. Would definitely book again if ever in the region again.

The hospitality provided by Vanessa and Hans was excellent. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. We used Treignac as a base to explore that particular part of the Limousin region and we weren't disappointed . Would highly recommend L'Ancienne Maison to other travellers.

Great location at the edge of Perigord Limousin & an ideal base for a few days touring. Lovely family run place. The building seems to have been a monastery or some such in a previous life. Short stroll across the river & you're into into the town centre

Upgraded to really large and comfortable room. Restaurant food excellent and reasonable price. Local produce. Excellent dauphinois potatoes to go with Limousin Steak. Live Jazz music on the terrace. Very helpful staff.
Nice location in a village with lots of history. Limousin countryside all around. Nice pool and friendly owners.

The hotel was very clean and tastefully appointed; the food was excellent and the staff were warm, friendly and very professional. We were delighted with the service. It was our wedding anniversary whilst there, and the restaurant staff kindly gave us a glass of champagne with the complements of the management - a very nice gesture.
