Very friendly and helpful people, located in the Heart of the City , a large parkhouse for the car 100mtr. Behind the Hotel. A very nice Hotel Bar, all is well done decorated. Best thing ist the ski Lounge , its so impressive and with love decorated.

The room was a good size with recent modern decoration and the bathroom was excellent (good size, fabulous shower, towel rail). The breakfast was great - ham, eggs, yogurts, pastries plus excellent coffee machine and freshly squeezed orange juice. Best was the staff - they were all attentive and very friendly especially accommodating to our puppy

The pool is a great feature of the property particularly during a heatwave. I would argue that they could do with more lounge chairs around the pool however as we checked in early we got two chairs in the shade and camped there for several hours enjoying the pool and reading a book. The room we had (room 25) was magnificent. Huge room, clean, well appointed and deliciously cool with the air conditioning on when we arrived. The staff were magnificent. Extremely friendly and helpful with excellent English. The property had a very large secure room for storing bikes. At check in that had cool water flavoured with lemon or lime and mint. Which was very welcome in the heatwave.

I had a four hour or more ride to the hotel and it was an excellent experience when I arrived. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. The breakfast was very nice and it was a good start for my next long ride.

What a beautiful setting. Lovely room, though a bath is not best for 75 year olds! I am aware we could have asked for that on booking. Great meal in the evening. Lovely breakfast to set us up for our long journey to the Lot. Really nice to be able to let our dog run through the grounds too. Altogether a great stopover and I am sure we’ll be back sometime!😁 Thank you!

There are a good number of things to do and see in the city...

There are a good number of things to do and see in the city (probably more than I'm aware of as I had no kids to entertain) as well as it being a good base from which to head out for the visiting of nearby chateaux. It also has a high number of attractive looking restaurants and bars as well as a great variety of shops.

I needed to find a bed without any dinner or other...

I needed to find a bed without any dinner or other facilities late in the day and only for the night as would be moving on early the next day. Therefore cost was the primary concern. It was cheap and the bed comfortable, though the room noisy when other guests were moving around the building or noisy in their rooms. Don't take breakfast option, it was poor value and not as you might expect when at reception. Behind reception is a pleasant looking restaurant, however breakfast for this hotel is in a side room which is not so pleasant and with not a great selection of food and drink. Check in staff did not make this clear when option offered at check in.

Really nice and helpful staff room as you would expect not the biggest in the world but exactly what we needed for our two nights stay although slightly out of town there’s a tram a few minutes walk away that takes you into the centre and back for a very reasonable price

Beaugency is a charming town on the banks of The Loire.

Beaugency is a charming town on the banks of The Loire. It is very pretty and well maintained and the little canals which run along some of the streets are lovely. The Grand Hotel de L'abbaye is definitely the place to stay and Restaurant l idée is most definitely the place to eat. Have visited this charming place before and will be back in the future!

Meung-sur-Loir is a very pretty medieval town and we would have loved to stay longer there so we could have seen more of the local sites e.g. the castle. Our only disappointment with the town was that there was nowhere open to eat out on a Tuesday night so we had to go to our accommodation to cook. Luckily we had the foresight to take pasta with us in case of such an emergency. Luckily we had booked an apartment with cooking facilities and not just a room.

Briare is situated close to the River Loire.

Briare is situated close to the River Loire. If you visit you must view the aqueduct that carries the canal across the Loire. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel and a magnificent structure. Yes the same engineer who designed the tower named after him. Lovely town with pleasant riversides walks and good restaurants, Try Le Bord d'Eau - great food and wine and a really humorous patron.

The chateau is outstanding - you can download an audio guide or use the panels in each room/part of the chateau. We rode our bikes to our accommodation and walked to the chateau. The traffic in Sully sur Loire is very busy (lots of large trucks and high volume) and pedestrians must take care even when using crosswalks. Tourist information was excellent and outstanding assortment of bakeries.

The town is lively and full of young energetic people of...

The town is lively and full of young energetic people of color. It felt like home. It is difficult to find people that don't speak French here so be prepared to do quite a bit of Google Translate. This however is not a complaint just an observation for non-French speaking people. Food establishments are diverse and if you love African food I'd recommend placing aon order through Uber eats. I'd recommend a vendor called Foodside. Very yummy filling food. There's a water body nearby where a lof of the young people hang out its quite peaceful and not unruly. I felt somewhat safe but one should always be careful and vigilant wherever they travel to. The streets are quite thin and its difficult to find parking so leave your car the the hotel and explore the town on foot or public transport.

What a gem in France's crown.

What a gem in France's crown. Lovely city with so many unexpected features. From the beautiful Cathedral to the gentle meander of the river, it was a pleasure to explore. The main square was bustling late into the summer evening with lots for locals and tourists to do. The cafe and restaurants were lively and we found a particularly good one right beside the river. Orleans is steeped in history and just waiting to be explored some more.
