In the common room of the hotel there is an incredible collection of cycling memorabilia (books, bikes, water bottles, champions' shirts) belonging to Lino Lazzerini which makes happy any cycling enthusiastic... better than a museum!!! Spacious, clean, so many facilities for us to use, loved that it was a whole villa to ourselves and it was private although there were other villa’s around it was still like like our own private home. Every bedroom had a ensuite, balcony, garden view. The pool, the outdoor area, the garage, the washing machine and dryer, the kitchen and kitchenware was great, living area was comfortable and great for a family esp with dinning area. We loved our stay here! It feels like it away from the city but it’s still a 5-10min drive away so it was a perfect hideaway.

The moment you enter Capelongue you are welcomed by a charming valet who whips away your car and luggage, then offered a cold refreshment or coffee or both while you check in. We were upgraded to a lovely two story room with a little terrace and close to the spa and pool. The rooms are lovely, the setting is amazing very provencal with lavender, rosemary and summer flowers in bloom. We ate at La Bergerie the more casual restaurant for dinner twice , the food was great and the setting lovely. This is a 6 star hotel could not fault anything.

An exceptional hotel, situated in its own vineyard. The location is fabulous, the food as very good and the wine of course is from their own production. Our stay included a complementary wine tasting in the vineyard shop (across the road). The Manager went out of her way to ensure all food requests were met. The gardens are beautiful and well kept, and there is a swimming pool for guests. The water was a little warmer than my taste, but I am sure most guests will like it that way. We stayed for four nights

Perfect place to explore Provence, it's right in the middle.

Perfect place to explore Provence, it's right in the middle. In the town you will find the basics: supermarket, some restaurants, others. The old towncenter is nice, and late afternoon (not on marketday) we found good parking facilities. Tip: google maps doesn't know that some streets in the old town are closed and it navigates inside impossible places. It's better to park next to the river and walk 3 minutes to the center.

Bonniuex is the most beautiful and lively of all the towns in this region. There is so much to explore, and so much history to see… we went to other towns and were always glad that we stayed in Bonnieux and only day tripled to the others… don’t look anywhere else to stay and if you do, make sure you spend a day in Bonniuex.

We were only in Forcalquier overnight.

We were only in Forcalquier overnight. The old center is nice with lots of restaurants. The citadel is worth the short uphill walk to visit. The views are spectacular from the summit. We were able to see the snow topped French Alps from the top of the mountain. From our experience, one day is sufficient, but worth a visit if you are in the region. One other note, we received great support from the local office de tourism for bus schedules and restaurant recommendations.

Pertuis is an unglamorous, normal, quite large village located not far from interstate A51, the vertical highway that divides the eastern and western halves of inland Provence. From Pertuis, it was easy to get to both our westernmost destinations (i.e., Avignon) and our easternmost destinations (i.e., the Gorges du Verdon), as well as to Aix-en-Provence to the south, yet the village was completely non-touristy. I would definitely stay there again.
