NetherlandsIt was a surprise from beginning to ending. Our forrest hideway was incredible to sleep. From your bed we looked into the trees. We reserved just an hour before arrival and were asked to join the pre dinner drinks and dinner. It was amazing. Loved all of it.

It was very clean. The owner was very helpful. The onsite restaurant bar was great - local beers and delicious food! It also had some air conditioning which was a welcome relief with the very high temperatures! It was in a great location for exploring Belleme with the added bonus that it had a playground and swimming pool right by the accommodation. Make sure you bring towels and bedding - it does say in the description but I hadn’t thought about bedding until we got there - the owner was able to supply bedding for an additional cost.

Lovely lady (owner) always asked if you were ok. Slept well. and other family members too. Brilliant location for everything. Main road ,town, etc. Fantastic breakfast and evening meal. Great parking. Room a very good size.

Hotel was beautiful, large room with beautiful free standing bath. Breakfast (additional charge) was simple but lovely. Free parking opposite hotel. Useful to have kitchen area in room, good selection of shops nearby.

We were on our way to Spain and needed a one night stop over...
We were on our way to Spain and needed a one night stop over, it was a nice apartment that we used for one night going and one night coming home to the UK.
Alencon food and bars outlets all shut around 10.00 pm as we found out, getting there too late, we didn't make the same mistake on our way home !!!!

We had a lovely couple of days here.
We had a lovely couple of days here. It is extremely pretty, with the lake and river. Cafes and restaurants are plentiful and very good. we walked around the chateau and tried out the velo rail, great fun but left us feeling a bit uncomfortable - could have done with a cushion on the saddles! a pretty town well worth the visit.

Belleme is a fabulous small town full of character - not touristy but lots to do .
Visit the wine cave at the bottom of the hill and Patricia boutique nearby and book in advance for the restaurant in the old town.
sit in the street for a coffee at La civette also.

This is a really nice town with everything you want.
This is a really nice town with everything you want. There are some good local shops with very friendly people. There are lots of Antique shops but only seem to open at weekends. Some really good restaurants and bars. The town is a very well kept town with lots of character. It has beautiful countryside within minutes.

This is a typical small French town.
This is a typical small French town. We went for a walk in the afternoon and discovered a lake with a beach, just a five minute walk from the hotel! We only stayed for one night as we were travelling further west but would definitely make a stop here on our next visit.
The town is clean and quiet and although we didn't see many people, those we met were friendly. For an overnight stay, it was perfect.

I was unfortunately ill during the whol time of our stay, so the only facilities in town that I can recommend for easy access and use are: the pharmacy, the florist and the cashpoint. Parking was free in the centre of town, but I don't know for how long etc.

ENCHANTING
Period property tastefully furnished set in manicured grounds. The host Jean-Françoise was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We felt immediately at home. The breakfast was all homemade, jams, puddings etc. We were sorry we had to leave. Will definitely return for a much longer stay.

Alencon is a nice short trip away from Paris if you want to see charming local architecture. Some of Alencon is perhaps a bit depressed, but the historic elements are very pretty. I wish that i had stayed 2 nights rather than only one!

What a wonderful surprise, I was not aware of this gem in France, we enjoyed a 1 night stay in this resort but wished we could have stayed longer. It's definitely worth a Visit. There are several Hotels Gift shops Spa hotels and a Casino, there are a couple of lakeside bars and restaurants.

Belleme and the surrounding towns are not thriving tourist...
Belleme and the surrounding towns are not thriving tourist traps. But the Middle Ages architecture with towers and walls lend a lot of atmosphere. I suspect Parisians have weekenders here because it is away from the rat race.
