Rooms were beautifully decorated.. ( sky tv complimentary water etc) staff so lovely & helpful There is a courtesy car which can take you to and from the other restaurants ie Milsoms & Talbooth … If you don’t want the continental breakfast which is offered here you can go to Milsoms for a cooked full English which is excellent. ( lots if choice on Milsoms menu) we love the spa here which is amazing

We have stayed at Greyfriars many times over the years and it is always excellent.Therefore it was an easy choice for my extended family and I to have our late mother's wake in one of the function rooms and to book several rooms for family members to stay over.Hannah was brilliant in organising the rooms and also the room to hold the wake.Catering was excellent and we had great service from Blake who looked after us with drinks from the bar. Also a special mention to the reception staff who are always friendly and helpful and also the staff at breakfast ( sorry I didn't catch their names)

Good location, easy to find and good breakfast starting early for those with an early boat from Harwich. We enjoyed the Christmas decorations and were happily surprised by the free drinks in the bar.

We stayed in the Boudicca suite, which was a spacious and beautiful room with a bath and a view of a small courtyard. The hotel is located in a stunning manor house within a park and is run in connection with the University of Essex's hospitality school. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was excellent, featuring a great buffet, delicious cappuccinos, and à la carte options. It's a perfect and safe place to stay after arriving on the ferry to Harwich (only a 30-minute drive with plenty of parking). We took the 14:15 boat from Hook of Holland and arrived around 21:00, leaving us just enough time for a lovely evening walk. Highly recommended!
