The location was perfect. The staff were complete lovely, warm, and accommodating. The cafe/restaurant downstairs was great and offered a perfect variety of food and drink.

The location was beautiful, breakfasts really good as was evening meal, I liked the ordering service.

Situated on 300 acres of countryside on the edge of the Dedham Vale and just off route A134, this hotel is about a 20 minute drive from Colchester and Ipswich.

The facilities and staff were excellent. They went above and beyond other hotels we've stopped at.

This historic pub and hotel is right in the centre of this beautiful Suffolk village. It reopened last year and now doubles as an upmarket burger restaurant. The building’s historic features have been preserved but with a rock-and-roll themed decor update. We did not dine there but asked if we could get a small plate of cheese on returning from a local event at 9.30pm. The kitchen had already closed but the chef was sitting at the bar after his shift and he volunteered to prepare that for us and brought out a huge helping of cheddar and chutney. This was very much appreciated and we of course bought him a drink. Our room was spacious with quirky decor and a very large and comfortable bed. We knew it advance that breakfast at the George is limited to cereals with fresh milk (stored in a tiny table-top fridge in the room) so we brought along our own fresh fruit plus bread and butter. There is also a kettle and a coffee machine with teabags and capsules.

With free parking and WiFi, The Mill Hotel Sudbury is in the center of Sudbury, on the banks of the River Stor. It has a bar, restaurant and sun terrace each with picturesque views over the meadows.

This is our 4th or 5th stay at The Mill and we always enjoy it. We're looking forward to returning next year.

Located in a small town, this inn provides real ale, good home-cooked food from local suppliers, a fine wine menu and live entertainment on a regular basis.
