Would stay again. Very comfy small hotel, spotless and friendly staff. Just ten minutes walk into the centre. Arrived from Lime Street Station and ten minutes to hotel to store our bags as too early for check in. Quirky student area and very close to Catholic Cathedral which is worth a visit.

The hotel is in a very good location, near the beach and the promenade, with a building rich in history. The architecture and history are beautiful. It used to be luxurious, and that's still noticeable. Our room was on the 5th floor. Comfortable bed, renovated bathroom, dry, and clean.
I especially want to mention the staff. My son got sick with a high fever, and we needed a late checkout at 5 p.m. They accommodated us without charging for an extra night and allowed us to stay for a very symbolic additional fee. We definitely want to come back.

London is a wonderful, busy city.
London is a wonderful, busy city. There is so much to see and do, and really needs multiple trips in order to experience it fully. The theaters are wonderful, the parks are incredible, and it's very easy to get around with public transportation. This is definitely a city for walkers. If you don't like walking or stairs, it might not be for you.

As I was on business trip to meet with the textile importers my company work with, I managed all my meetings successfully & the city I am from Pakistan is Faisalabad, known as Manchester of Pakistan due to its big Textile industry enjoying good reputation in USA, EU, UK, Scandinavia & rest of the world,
Shopping places like M&S, PRIMARK, SELFRIDGES & NEXT were just at walking distance from the hotel.
Good food restaurants also were close to the hotel.

Driving in to Newcastle can be troublesome , but when your there its a fantastic city , the people are the friendliest in the UK , My son is at university and stays in Jesmond which could be a weekend away on its own .. Definitely split your time between the quayside (dubliner) and jesmond (sohe) if for a long weekend .,

The Museum and Art Gallery was a revelation re. its modern approach both in exhibitions and building fabric and the 'attendants' were most friendly and helpful. Good restaurants are abundant in the city centre, Spanish, Italian, French and many others, however, meals could be more expensive than one would expect if not careful on a short visit. Whilst the Minster is quite superb in every way we considered that the entrance fee of £20pp. is excessive, even bearing in mind the extent of maintenance work constantly required. The number of small, independent shops is encourageing, however, the Shambles was disappointing, crowded with many inconsiderate groups of tourists, not allowing serious shoppers to approach the shops themselves. Whilst street maps are available, the lack of obvious street names made visitor perambulation a little difficult at times. York is well worth a visit in many ways but preplanning re. restaurants, cultural sites, car parking, etc. is recommended.

Perfect for an overnight or delayed flight layover. Clean, comfortable enough and value for money. Good bar/restaurant (closes at 11 pm?). The pod from terminal 5 is easy to use. Beware: The last time I was there, my flight details changed and, since I had chosen the cheapest rate on Booking.com, they refused to assist me with making changes or make a refund. Look for a deal which allows changes.

First day there, we were accosted by people asking for money. Lots of people sleeping in doorways. Tram and Bus service was unreliable. £10.00 ticket for unlimited travel for two was good value when the tram/bus turned up. Excuse we got was lack of drivers and breakdowns.

Great City- beautiful buildings in the centre, great shops, good transportation. Lots of places to eat and shop. A few local supermarkets dotted around the city centre . I saw I huge mechanical bull at new St Stn and a brown one near Primark. They are definitely a tourist attraction .
It is easy to get to other cities from New St Stn. Next time I will try travelling to York from there.

I was volunteering for the European Athletic Championships...
I was volunteering for the European Athletic Championships and needed to be near the airport and the city centre. The Crown Plaza was perfect for my ten day stay with quick rail links to the city centre and was peaceful and quiet with beautiful views over Pendigo Lake for relaxation time between my volunteering shifts.

I took 2 bus tours around the city - one of the city skyline...
I took 2 bus tours around the city - one of the city skyline and the other of the city centre as both were included in the price. Found a couple of independent bookshops and an amazing cheese stall in the Guildhall Market- Cheese Nibbles. It was small but had some excellent cheeses.
I also had a great meal at Magari - a small Italian restaurant in Shires Yard - and a glass of wine and the total was £18, which was excellent value.
