In a stunning location, between the mighty Glencoe Mountains, this baronial Highland hotel offers an irresistible blend of history and style with modern comforts and luxuries. The Balachulish is reminiscent of an old Grand Hotel, and the staff, food, and location were top-notch.
Almost afloat, The Isles of Glencoe Hotel is nestled on the side of a peninsula, reaching into Loch Leven at the foot of Glencoe. We loved the facility. In general, comfortable rooms a beautiful view of the bay and the surrounding area is well suited for hiking.
Located at the head of Loch Leven, the area surrounding MacDonald Hotel & Cabins offers some of Scotland’s most stunning views. Beautiful location and rooms. Very quiet and wonderful staff. Fantastic evening meal from the bar sitting outside watching the day fade over the loch. Great breakfast also. Steve was a great character and very funny and helpful. Well worth the short drive off the main drag.

This property is owned by two cats Smokey and Tinker with their two very lovely staff: Jackey and Ian :) Jackey and Ian were amazing hosts who made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable and close to our real home experience. The breakfast cooked was really delicious. The home is really lovely with amazing views outside the window. Before planning our trip, we didn't realise Glencoe was so beautiful otherwise we would have extended our stay for a longer time. There are many beautiful places and amazing activities around the place which we plan to cover in our next trip.

The location is perfect, you have to follow a long road through the wood of Glencoe until the hostel, with a lot of small cottages. It's like a little little village. The bed is very comfortable, you have a kitchen, hot water for the shower and electricity. If you're not pretentious you'll like a lot this place. The glencoe hostel is also very near to the Glencoe Valleys, which are stunning. If you want to visit the highlands without spending a lot, this is the right place!

If you are looking to explore Glencoe for more than a day, the Ballachulish Hotel is a perfect staging point for hiking, cycling or day-tripping. Opposite the loch, and in a lovely old lodge, it is comfortable rather than grand, which means you don't mind dropping into the couches or playing scrabble in the study. Some places can be fusty, this is friendly.

We were warmly greeted and shown our room. After a long day exploring we went to the bar which was well stocked and cozy with a roaring coal fire. We very much enjoyed our evening meal which was delicious. The hotel is a in a very beautiful position with beautiful Glencoe only minutes away by car.

The apartment is super modern and offers an amazing view over the Loch! It had everything I could need for my stay, and the hosts were really friendly too :). It's in the perfect location for exploring Glencoe (which is incredible) or Fort William. I would definitely stay here again - thank you!

Awesome place and perfect location, better than I expected actually. We hiked Pap of Glencoe in the morning and was very nice to drive only 5 min to get to the hostel :)

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Lots of outside and inside spaces to enjoy. Cute small bar for a pre dinner drink. We ate in the hotel one night--excellent. The breakfast was average but the coffee was great. Everyone working at the hotel was friendly and very helpful. This hotel caters to hikers and walkers. There is information readily available to plan a walk or hike at any level. We stayed here to see the area by car because of the central location. No complaints. If ever in this area again we would stay here in a heartbeat.
