- From $121.59 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,349 reviewsThis is one of the best places I have stayed. The staff was helpful, the food was simple but delicious, and the connected pub is a good place to have dinner and drink. The location is perfect for exploring the Highlands and is 1.5 to Edinburgh and only a few hours to the Two Sisters and excellent hiking and outdoor adventures. I travel 42 weeks a year for work, staying at some of the best (and worst) hotels in the world. Lochaide Guest House is 100% on the best side, a quiet, comfortable, clean, well-located place to stay that I would highly recommend.Guest review byR MaezLuxembourg
- From $209.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,375 reviewsGreat location with breathtaking views. Fantastic staff who were all extremely efficient and friendly. We had our sixteen month old German pointer with us who is very excitable and extremely friendly. The staff we're all really good with him which made our overnight stay very relaxed. Nice big dog friendly room and spotlessly clean. Good food and fantastic service. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom
- From $214.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,276 reviewsWhat a well run hotel. The staff were efficient and the whole place was well managed. The room we had was a generous size with a super comfortable king size bed. It was warm and soundproof with a lovely view of Ben Lomond and the Loch. The room was carefully thought out with plenty of charge and power points. The bathroom was clean and modern with plenty of hot water. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent.Guest review byJacquiAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 3,705 reviewsHamish, the general manager, was filling in as bartender. He was SO friendly and welcoming! He spent several hours chatting everybody up and making the atmosphere wonderful. We loved his banter with his English friend haha This location was great and every staff member went out of their way to say hello and chat. Highly recommend!Guest review byKayceUnited States

Nothing to do with the location ..but..the bus from Buchanan bus station dropped us off on the outskirts of Balloch on a very busy duel carriageway..which took ages to cross safely..why don't they terminate in Balloch's own bus station...much safer as we had to walk 15 mins to get to our accomodation in rough tarain... I'd hate to think of elderly people having to endure this ... shocked to be honest...nothing to do will The Tillie Inn..maybe something should be changed to prevent this.as it has put me off getting the bus...Guest review byTownsley - 8.0
Amazing part of the country with wonderful scenery.
Amazing part of the country with wonderful scenery. Most staff are extremely pleasant and friendly, but not all. Arrochar is a bit of a one horse town, although it's a great base for touring some amazing parts of the country. It's a very relaxing village with a lovely walk along the lochside.Guest review byHowden - 10.0

Luss is a quaint little town with not many facilities but a useful local store. We were there for the Highland Games which were a fabulous life experience. The loch is gorgeous and the surrounding mountains are stunning.Guest review byCynthiaUnited States - 10.0
Lodge was fantastic.
Lodge was fantastic. Staff were very welcoming and nothing was an issue. It was nice and peaceful. I'd have stayed a lot longer if I could. Everything you need is literally on the doorstep. Staff at the village shop were lovely and even took our photo as we just got married the day we arrived. Chris was very welcoming anytime we needed anything from the wee shop.Guest review byHand - 10.0

We expected it to be nice but when we arrived we were simply blown away by the lodge and the peaceful park it is based in. The lodge was spacious and clean and had everything a family needed for a relaxing break. The bedrooms were great and the shower and bath facility was also top class. The WiFi was as good as anywhere I've ever stayed and the park with private beach was truly spectacular. We couldn't recommend this place more if we tried and will be coming back every year as the owner was very helpful and friendly as well.Guest review byGaryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There's not much in Tarbet, apart from the Hotel and a good restaurant, but its convenient for the Loch, and its on a junction of the main roads, so there's good access to other parts. There is a bus stop that the long distance bus services stop at. Loch boat trips depart from the pier. The Tarbet Hotel is a great place to stay. The Kirk 'o the Lochs is a good place to eat.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Castle and Denny museum well worth a visit.
Castle and Denny museum well worth a visit. Leven river and Clyde both interesting to walk beside. Town a little run down BUT most amazing coffee shop, Roo's Kitchen, is well worth a visit. Friendly staff and delicious food.Guest review byCarolUnited Kingdom - 10.0

What a place to rest and recouperate from the West Highland Way. Right from the start, where we were picked up to save us walking up the steep hill, we were treated to probably our best evening of the whole walk. The food in the evening was amazing, worthy of a high standard restaurant, and this continued to breakfast and our packed lunch the following day. Would definitely plan a WHW itinerary around stopping here. Great service from all and would love to visit again.Guest review byBrendanUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Close to Balloch but far enough away from too many tourists.
Close to Balloch but far enough away from too many tourists. Has a station close by for easy access to Glasgow. Local shops in easy reach for picnic provisions. Good restaurants in Balloch such as Cucina and The Pier.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The view and cottage is to die for.
The view and cottage is to die for. But facilities need to improve for a self catering nature of stay. It mentions Ardlui group of Hotels, but when we reached at 6 pm the hotel staff said they had nothing to do with the property. We spend a tense half hour before the actual person in charge could be contacted.Guest review byDhritipriyaIndia
