The food was excellent and the garden outside was idyllic. The local town is a lovely place and I would highly recommend if you are in the area!

Room, Lounge Bar, Food and Staff All excellent and could not do enough for you. Nice location, Quiet. No noise from any other rooms which happens a lot in other hotels. Lovely walks around the village and beyond. Also lovely garden come summer.

Excellent welcome from the owners and staff. Made you feel at home. Beautiful room in a quaint hotel. Delicious home cooked breakfast. The hotel is in a very close walking distance to a range of amenities including lovely pubs and restaurants. Stunning part of the country. Thoroughly enjoyed our two day break.

Brilliant hotel & pub. The room we stayed in was stunning with plenty of room. The pub downstairs is really nice with good food and drinks. And the staff was very helpful and kind. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a trip away in the New Forest. We will be back.

This was our first trip to Lyndhurst, and it didn't disappoint! We tried out quite a few of the local cafes & restaurants (our favourite being the Thai). As it's literally a stones throw away from the New Forest, you can take yourself off for lots of beautiful walks in the countryside.

A small village, centrally located in New Forest. Ideal for visiting surrounding areas, ie Lymington, Beaulieu etc. Plenty of places to eat, to account for all budgets. Can recommend Brooks Tea rooms, delightful homemade selection of cakes to enjoy after a walk around the village. Ponies and donkeys roam along the lanes, oblivious to the cars they are holding up. A truly tranquil place.

Expensive for what it is! Our stay was not a comfortable one and we did not get much sleep!
We had our dog stay with us due to building work taking place at our own home. Pet was additional cost of £25 and we booked through booking.com, however on arrival we were told we would have to upgrade to another room that was dog friendly that cost an extra £61.00.
The room although looked lovely, nothing really worked well - no extractor fan in the bathroom, poor lighting, and a full glass water bottle that was chipped and looked dirty. The room was not sound proofed in anyway, we could hear the couple above in their room having conversations, watching their TV and getting up early n the night. You could hear every little sound which affected our little dog and would frequently wake her up and us. We got several hours sleep - no breakfast included in the cost of our stay.
It's a beautiful location and the main part of the hotel is beautifully decorated, however the room we stayed in felt unloved and cared for (this room was also classed as disabled room). We will not be staying again and will not be recommending to anyone. Very poor indeed!

Cadnam is on the edge of the new forest and had the A31 not...
Cadnam is on the edge of the new forest and had the A31 not been closed it would have been perfect for visiting the forest. Fortunately for me I didn't need to use the A31. I used my time visiting old friends as I had moved away 3 years ago.

Easy access to the New Forest. A good choice of local pubs. A convenience store was a 5 minute drive away. The location was semi rural - there were busy roads nearby with convenient links to motorway and the rest of the South Coast.

Exbury Gardens were very interesting and attractive. The Motor museum was well worth the entrance fee £31.50, the House in particular was a revelation. Both are "must go to" places. If you enjoy walking, lots of places where you can stretch your legs.

Stayed here as close to a country show we were going to. Booked quite late, so maybe we should have looked into the hotel a bit more. No food Monday and Tuesday, only breakfast, but pubs around were serving, just inconvenient when children are involved and you have to drive or get a taxi. Evening staff member not good, but daytime and breakfast staff lovely.

Local chippie and Tesco express were helpful for food, but local pub was shutting down. Limited food and drink with long waits. Great access to the New Forest and local nature reserves. Spent a lovely morning at Eling nature reserve.

We have fiends that live in a village nearby, that is the reason we come. The village is White Parish and the Parish Lantern does THE most wonderful food. Lots of places and landmarks are easy to get to although the access to see Stonehenge was impossible for us. Seeing the lovely statue of Queen Elizabeth at Romsey was a great bonus.

Lyndhurst is an excellent base for exploring the New Forest and south coast. The town offers a variety of independent shops as well as cafes, pubs and restaurants and all can be reached on foot.
Traffic is usually heavy in the holiday season though not a major problem.
