Everything was excellent, fitted us in at last minute for dinner. An excellent relaxed atmosphere. A wee bonus fresh milk in a tiny fridge for our coffee and tea in the room. Second stay on my way back from down south and will be my stopping off point for future trips to south of England. Recommend the Inn to anyone.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. When we asked about laundry services at the hotel or nearby, they offered to do some for us although it was not a regular offering. Wonderful people. The breakfast is great, and the restaurant very good too (and popular, so book ahead if you’re there at a busy time).

Harrogate is a charming place with many places of interest we very much enjoyed Harry's walking tour of the town centre a definite highlight of our visit. There are many places to eat and drink and good shops also and many places to sit and take in the views. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed an alfresco meal at Italian restaurant Vivido on Cheltenham Crescent. We stayed at the Crown Plaza hotel which was good for parking and walking into the town centre

This was a flying visit to Whitby but I've been there a good many times.Still retains an old world ambience in it's aged streets and architecture. The harbour and its boats remain a link with Whitby's maritime and fishing heritage and the Nelson era sailing ship moored up I think is still called 'The Grand Turk'.Worth having a walk down to the house where Captain Cook was taught how to be a sailor.Cross over the swing bridge and do the climb up the 199 steps to St Mary's Church and the ruins of the Abbey and take in the stunning views over the town.At the bottom of the steps is Henrietta Street and most days it's easy to follow the aroma of smoking kippers up to the smoke house of 'Fortunes Of Whitby'.See how its been done forever but go early doors as they can soon sell out .Delicious and everybody's favourite take home Whitby treat.I like my fish and chips and paid my usual visit to Trenchers Fish and Chip Restaurant. If they're a little dearer it's because they are consistently good, the surroundings very pleasant and the service very efficient. But I've never had a bad fish and chips anywhere else in Whitby to be fair. The place is full of history that happened, from the days of whaling ships and lifeboat disasters, and history that didn't,such as Dracula arriving in Whitby on a ship with no crew before he leaps ashore as a big black dog and runs straight up those 199 steps before disappearing in the abbey.Atmospheric and scenic whichever way you look,Whitby is a northern gem to be explored and enjoyed as a living reminder of how things used to be and the people who made a living out of a tough world.

Scarborough has 2 bays and beaches both with their own characters. The south bay is more commercial, amusement arcade's and a small fun fair. The Spar Complex which hosts concerts and other activities. Over Valley Bridge are the Italian Gardens. The north bay is quite and has the beautiful Peasholm Park, The Sealife Centre. And of course the Castle If you have your own transport you can visit Flamingland, Whitby Robinhoods Bay and the North Yorkshire Moors.

We have been to skipton before but only for a day trip so decided to do a few days stay. Lots of shops to look around and places to eat. We had lunch in the Terrace cafe which was very good and reasonable prices. Did afternoon tea on canal boat which was a nice 2 hour cruise up the canal. Had a few drinks in the Boathouse on the canal, very friendly staff. Well worth visiting.

Views from Castle over town and viaduct, enormously dramatic. Lovely riverside walks. A very quirky and exciting place to explore with the added character supplied by the Mother Shipton walk, the story of Blind Jack etc. Loved the different attractive buildings, especially the checkerboard pattern on many of them.

We were only passing through Ripon so only stayed for one afternoon and night. What a lovely City. A nice market square. We loved the knitted figures on the posts around the market square and knitted items on railings around the town. We popped into The Mountain Warehouse for a browse. Friendly and helpful staff in there. We purchased some outdoor clothing at very reasonable prices. The park next to the Ripon Inn is well worth a visit there's a cafe open for refreshments. Don't forget to see the chainsaw sculptures of Alice in Wonderland figures and information on Lewis Carroll.. The Ripon Inn is well worth a visit for lunch or to stay .

We liked visiting The Station, and enjoyed all the nice walks around town. We had nice meals at Royal India, the Fleece hotel and Morro Lounge and Kings Head Hotel. We also sampled goodies from Edwinas cake shop and The Pie shop! We are big fans of Lucy Pittaway local artist too. We find Yorkshire people very friendly and dog friendly too. Richmond is only 10 minutes drive from the A66 so very convenient when travelling from Scotland!
