This was by far the most beautiful accommodation of our entire trip. Cozy, unbelievably clean, with charming décor and lots of style. A large, comfortable bed, and everywhere smelled wonderfully fresh. We stayed on Christmas Day and the pub was closed, so I don’t know what it’s like when it’s open — but even the pub room smelled amazingly fresh! There were delicious homemade cookies for travelers in the small self-service bar on the first floor. The entire property is absolutely lovely, and the breakfast was delicious, served in a cozy barn with a Christmas tree. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night — we would have loved to extend our stay right away.

Located in the heart of historic Arundel and the perfect position to explore the town. Greeted warmly by Maggie upon arrival and throughout our stay. Our room was very clean, comfortable and cosy and we found everything we needed. Excellent bed and we both slept very well. We will not hesitate to stay here again when next in the area.

One of the best hotel spas we've been to in England! The place is really well maintained, has all the charms of yesteryears but the conveniences of today. I especially enjoyed the pool, wish I could've swam more! The food was also really lovely, haven't seen a delicious breakfast spread like that in ages.

Hotel is perfectly central for the Jazz Festival we went to. The owners Ross and Chloe couldn't do enough for us. Room 2 is so comfortable with four poster bed there's a small but modern ensuite very clean too. Breakfast was avocado hollandaise with poached egg - perfect and Sunday lunch was one of the best I've had.

Pretty place with the castle at the heart of the town.

Pretty place with the castle at the heart of the town. Steep in places but easy to get around. Plenty of places to eat and cultural attractions if needed. We had a lovely walk along the road, the river walk was too muddy due to the amount of rain, to the Black Rabbit pub. Had a lovely meal there. Stunning views of the river and castle if seated outside.

Historic town with many places of interest to visit eg. Lewes Castle, The Priory ruins and Anne of Cleves House. The Grange Gardens are very attractive and free to enjoy. Lots of lovely independent local shops, pubs and cafes. Parts of the town are rather hilly so perhaps not so good for those with mobility issues.

Access to the beach is not too difficult for someone whose joints creak a bit. A long slope with hand rail is helpful. Our sunny but bracing walk along the prom was enlivened by cheerful visitors and dogs . The outdoor cafe afforded shelter from the wind and good coffee. After 2 hours we walked slowly into the village and were charmed by the buildings and quirky shops, the Grange library and art gallery, duck pond and church with Burne Jones windows. We found very clean toilets inside the church too. Thanks for this.We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Rottingdean.

We arrived late evening but they were very accomodating and friendly. Our room was comfortable, clean and had amazing shower. Despite being attached to a pub and a party going on - it was relatively quite. Breakfast was not to disapoint either - very good. A lovely place to stay. We will be coming back!

The town is ideal for an hour or so of mindless mooching. We enjoyed window shopping and appreciated the architecture, history and general atmosphere in the town. We lunched at Cherrys Cafe. Unfortunately the church wasn’t open on the day we visited. We didn’t visit the National Trust property but this would have been a further attraction making an extended stay worthwhile.
