United KingdomOn arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we had been given a room upgrade and what a lovely room it was, more like a suite, with a separate seating area with its own TV in addition to the one in the bedroom area.
Breakfasts were excellent, as were lunch and dinner over the two night stay.
Staff were all lovely and very obliging.
We hadn’t stayed here previously, although we had been a few times and had meals/drinks outside overlooking the river but we will definitely come back soon.

The food was delicious and our room was large, warm and clean with views over the gardens and lake. (Room 1). We would be happy to stay again in future. The staff definitely deserve all the credit for our stay, we were very happy.

Amazing old school inn location where we spent some time while hiking Lake District - inn was full of tradition, very nice people that did everything to help us have a great time there and that was the most amazing part - whatever problem we had, they solved it with a smile. Food and restaurant were also great and it is just a great place that you can use for you travels or vacation.

The mountain is extremely picturesque and well worth the technical hike to the top. Glenridding is a lovely village & I could easily have stayed a couple of nights enjoying the pubs and hospitality whilst exploring the beautiful area & swimming in the tranquil, but cols water!

2 days are enough time to explore , we also visited Keswick which wasn’t that far away , more than 2 days would of been too much , as it is a small lovely place , and it was November with rain , so more restricted, the lake was flooded in a certain area, but overall a lovely weekend break ,

We are regular visitors to Ullswater.
We are regular visitors to Ullswater. Watermillick has no facilities at all but is positioned between Pooley Bridge which has good direct Lake Access and Glenridding which has the best hotel in the area Inn on the Lake.

We had no idea how breathtakingly beautiful it was going to be in person. We really enjoyed the Lake District and would recommend it.
Dress for every type of weather. We rented a car and were able to drive through the mountains, it was probably one of the most scenic drives I have ever done and I've done Colorado, Utah, Maine, AZ etc. It was spectacular. The roads are another story. It only adds to the charm of extreme sightseeing. :-)

Absolutely fantastic town with something to do for everyone. The cruise trip is definitely worth the money would highly recommend. The crown inn was beautiful and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. The small shops were full of character and sold practically everything.

A beautiful hotel with spectacular views.Access to the lake is tricky as no proper path down to it.Perhaps some more benches around the grounds would have been good to look and admire the scenery.Also a car is needed to explore as the road is to dangerous to walk along it.To view the lake in all it's glory a trip on the steamer boats which run the entire length of Ullswater is a must,stop at the pooley bridge and the amazing Aira water falls spectacular days out all within 1o minutes car drive from the hotel

Patterdale is stunning, beautiful scenery and great walks right from the start. Not too far to walk to Glenridding, about 15 - 20 mins where you'll find a couple of shops, cafes and pubs. A nice place to sit after a walk is the In on the lake where non residents can use the hotel for a drink or something to eat. You can also get the steamers from Glenridding and walk / sit by the lake. There is a bus that runs from patterdale too. The White lion pub in Patterdale is a great place for a drink and dinner, great food and cosy atmosphere.

Great little village close to lots of attractions like Aira Force and the Ullswater Steamers. Great for fell walks, plodging in Ullswater itself and some lovely little pubs for food and drinks. Will definitely return.

A small village with more than enough eating venues, accommodation, shops. Every venue us professionally managed, locals friendly and appreciate visitors. These people know how yo present their village to the best of their ability.
Sits on the edge of Ullswater and has the ferry terminal for you to take advantage of and sail the length of the lake.
