This has to be one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in, and I travel a lot. The buffet breakfast and dinner are always fantastic, plenty to choose from and very tasty. The rooms are clean and spacious. There is always hot water for a shower. The gin and tonics are also 5-star :)

Tropic Garden Hotel was great. I really enjoyed staying there. Raj with his staff and Mr. Jallow were wonderful people. They were very hospitable and professional. I highly recommend this hotel.

To get there you need to get the ferry from Banjul to Barra.
To get there you need to get the ferry from Banjul to Barra. Then Sheriffo will organise a motorbike ride up to the lodge along the beach. The island is lovely and green and quiet.You can visit 4 villages and 2 of them cross the border into Senegal. I would recommend the village visits and the local school. The school is in need of support so do visit and offer any support you can.
I loved the island. If you want quiet then this is the place.
