Offering a year-round outdoor pool and sun terrace, O Coeur De Deshaies is located in Deshaies in the Basse-Terre Region, 21 mi from Le Gosier. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. We loved the proprietor, included breakfast (lots of options and delicious coffee), lovely rooms with balconies, mosquito nets on the bed (a must in the Caribbean). The rooms have all recently been renovated, they are light & airy, with kitchenette on the balcony, hammock chair for lounging, real windows (a large portion of hotels in Guadeloupe have open air, slatted windows only) , SUPER CLEAN and tidy.
Offering an outdoor pool and views of the sea, AU 'TI SUCRIER is located in Deshaies in the Basse-Terre Region, just 131 feet from Leroux Beach. One of the best things about staying at Sucrier was the bakery across the street which daily makes the largest and best croissants ever! Sucrier's grounds are lush, tropical and private. Having an outdoor kitchen was great fun. A gorgeous beach is only steps away. A lovely botanical garden is just a few miles away.
Facing the beachfront in Deshaies, Caraib'Bay Hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and barbecue facilities. Among the various facilities are a garden and a terrace.
Amid a natural garden on the island of Guadaloupe, Le Rayon Vert Hotel offers its guests terraces to soak in the sun, a hot tub and an outdoor pool. The good breakfast buffé which had everything you could ask for. There was a calm and relaxing atmospere overall. A very comfortable stay. It was also a good spot to start from whatever you wanted to do during the time on Basse-Terre. We especially appreciated visiting the closeby rainforest.
This tropical hotel offers units with a private patio or balcony overlooking the gardens. The hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from the Grande Anse Beach. Great facility, comfortable clean room, wonderful accommodating staff.
Featuring an infinity pool, this Trois Rivieres resort is 10 minutes’ by car to the ocean shore. Free WiFi and free parking is included. Outdoor, dining is featured at Le Panga set menu host's table. Service was excellent, the grounds are beautiful, the food was outstanding. They do a great job there, we are very pleased with our stay and would absolutely return.
Habitation du Comté is a property located 1.6 mi from the center of Sainte-Rose and offers its guests an outdoor pool and a restaurant-bar on site. Massage services are provided for a fee. Our family stayed at 4 separate properties on a week-long visit to Guadeloupe and this property was by far our favorite! The setting was magnificent, an old sugar plantation property and house, lovely grounds and a pool area, completely modernized and beautifully decorated. The rooms had comfortable beds, large modern bathroom, and large closets and a refrigerator. Breakfast was included with a night's stay and featured fresh local fruits, juices, pastries, breads and even locally-made yogurt. Don't miss Anthony's cooking -- I only wished we had stayed another night to sample more of his menu! In our opinion, he is a 5-star chef! We will be back!
La croisière is offering accommodations in Gourbeyre. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. The property has a terrace and a 24-hour front desk.

This small hotel in Pointe Noire features an outdoor swimming pool, on-site restaurant bar and restaurant and car rental. La Pointe D'Argent is less than 0.6 mi from the ocean. Staff were very helpful and friendly

The pronunciation of Deshaies is like the word "Day," with a slight hiccup in the middle. It was difficult to drive around and find a restaurant, especially on weeknights (Restaurant Clara in Sainte Rose, reviewed in several travel books, is only open on weekends), but we finally found Pizzeria Vegas on the N2 one late, hungry night, and the proprietors were really friendly and the pizza was amazing! Driving around is fairly simple in terms of there being basically one main road around the whole of Basse-Terre; however, the road is narrow and windy, people drive fast, and there are cement culverts on the side of the road with no guard rail, so it seems rather dicey and dangerous, on the whole. The highlights of our trip were snorkelling with the wild sea turtles near Pigeon Island, kayaking in the mangroves, the Maison du Cacao, and the Musee du Rhum. Deshaies was, in my opinion, the best place to stay on the whole island, because of it's proximity to "all the fun stuff." We didn't hike, but Basse-Terre is also where you want to be if you were planning on hiking, and Deshaies is closer to the hiking spots than if you were to stay on Grand-Terre.
The west coast of Basse-Terre is gorgeous, with lots of opportunities for lounging or adventuring. Deshaies (pronounced "deh eh") is a nice little village, centrally located for beach going, hiking, or exploring the island.
Don't miss snorkelling with turtles in Malendure beach! Bouillante is right in the middle of the island so you don't have to travel far to visit the the south of north part of Basse-Terre.
The Basse-Terre side of Guadeloupe has lush vegetation everywhere that really makes it beautiful. Deshais was about an hour drive from the airport but the roads are in very good condition. I would definitely stay in the same area if we go back to Guadeloupe

Murielle is incredibly considerate and helpful - I appreciate her husband helping me to find the right driveway (I arrived late). Very cute property, the wifi was very reliable during my stay. Breakfast was wonderful. I spent most of time exploring Basse-Terre, and I traveled solo, so I didn't have a chance to enjoy the private sitting area, but seemed like something that would be great for two!

We loved everything! The room was comfortable, clean, quiet, and had a beautiful view (see attached photo). There was a deck with a view of the ocean - we ate breakfast there. Kevin at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful - he directed us to the closest beaches and the grocery store. Our room had a kitchenette, so we were able to prepare some meals for the family in the room (or pack lunches for the beach). Some of the most beautiful beaches on the island are close by, as is amazing food. Ive already recommended this place to several other friends who plan to travel to Guadeloupe soon, and we will also be returning.

If you plan to stay in Deshaies then La Collins Verte is the best place to stay. The location is very close to most important beaches in that area. My preferred one is Grande Anse and Plage de la Perle for sunset (amazing sunsets indeed). The hosts were very kind and flexible for later check out. Also a very nice surprise is awaiting on arrival ;) . Totally recommend.

The staff was super nice and helped us with an extra day’s booking after missing our flight. Magnus, Makeila, and Thomas are some of the names I remember most of the people who helped us. There was many more but I just don’t remember their names. The rooms were big and comfortable. The food and entertainment were exceptional.

Staff very helpful. Check in on Christmas eve was simple... Many thanks to the ownership and their friends for welcoming us so warmly and sharing part of the holiday evening with us. Quiet, beautiful, natural surroundings very well maintained. The plants, trees, flowers, sights and sounds, were great. Very unique.

It’s a wonderful set of villas and bungalows set in a tropical “jungle” setting. The staff is amazing whether it’s arranging an excursion, making a dinner reservation, or even doing a load of laundry - it’s all done with a beaming smile.
