He was very friendly and so helpful - even went off to locate a charger for us when one of our scooters wouldn’t start. Would definitely recommend it as a place to stay on Samothraki.

The location is exceptional as it is situated very close to the places most people want to visit. 9 minute drive to Chora, 5 to Kamariotissa and 10 to Therma. Of course a car is necessary. Very good restaurant with decent prices. €15 per person, for meat dishes with salad, and €25 per person for fresh fish. The staff is very friendly and the facilities provided are more than enough. The administration let me keep the room at check out , a few more hours with no charge as they had no reservations.

Great hotel, amazing views and sunsets, the pool is one of their best features! The beach is nice, but the hotel being on a hill, going to the beach is a short and quite demanding walk (it's quite steep). However, the water is clear and we've seen a lot of fishes there. So it's worth the little effort. And you don't need to order anything to use the sunbeds at the beach.

Excellent location in Therma, which in my opinion is the best location of Samothraki island. The balcony of our room was next to huge trees with sea view, which is also the view of the room. Clean room and the hostess is super accommodating and kind, offering local homemade delicacies to the guests.

The breakfast is good.
And the island is amazing. Life is simple and easier here, it’s the second time visiting the island for us and definitely we will come back.

The apartment was very close to the port. The owner was very kind and sweet, upon the arrival, she even offered us a limonade. The garden was very beautiful, it was a really nice place to watch the sunset and just relax.

Samothraki is a truly special island – wild, green and refreshingly different from the typical Greek tourist destinations. Beautiful waterfalls and natural pools, crystal-clear sea, great hiking, charming villages and excellent local food. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and unspoiled nature. Definitely a place worth visiting and returning to!

Really nice location, where the ferry lands. It is somewhat isolated from the rest and you do need a car, otherwise it has two pharmacies, markets and decent restaurants, although we ate best outside of Kamariotissa.

I really enjoyed staying in Therma and, for me, it was one of the best places to base yourself while exploring Samothraki.
Therma has a very nice atmosphere. It is small and still feels authentic and rural, but during the summer it is lively enough that you never feel like you are staying in an isolated village. There are several small supermarkets and local shops, cafés, tavernas, bars and souvenir shops, so you have pretty much everything you need within walking distance.
I especially liked the fact that Therma is surrounded by so much greenery and feels very connected to nature. The village is close to the sea, with the beach only a short walk away. The beach is quite rocky and pebbly, but the water is beautiful and it is perfectly fine for a swim.
It is also a very convenient base for exploring the island. The Sanctuary of the Great Gods is relatively close, and the road to the Fonias waterfalls is easily accessible by car. There are also several waterfalls and natural pools in the area around Therma itself.
For me, Therma felt like the practical heart of Samothraki: close to nature, the sea, archaeological sites and some of the island's best-known waterfalls, while still having enough cafés, restaurants, bars and small shops to make the evenings enjoyable.
If you are looking for a place that combines nature, a relaxed island atmosphere and enough activity to keep things interesting, I would definitely recommend staying in Therma.

The main reason for going to Palaipoli is to visit the Sanctuary of the Greater Gods. The monument site is amazing and with the associated modern museum is certainly well worth an extended visit.
Other than that there is not really anything else to do in Palaipoli itself. However if you have a car or motor scooter than there is nothing to stop you from exploring the rest of the island.

Great place to rest, far away from the crowds, actually it is located in the hart of nature, at the foot of the mountain, between the olive trees. Cats and goats (?) are almost your only neighbours. If you want to relax with the sound of nature only and also benefit from the comfort of the apartment, this is the place. Thea sea is just 1,5-2 km away.
For those coming to Samothraki for visiting its landscapes and culture.

This was our third time in Samothraki.
This was our third time in Samothraki. We are in love with the location and we will come back for sure.
Best places to eat are : Karydies Taverna, Akrogiali Taverna, O Vrachos, Lefkos Pyrgos.
For best experience, having a car available is recommended.

Not the most beautiful place if you compare it to other Greek islands.It is a fishing port which has grown slightly to include a number of coffee shops and tavernas.You can find supermarkets, chemist, ATM, bakery ,rooms to rent, scooters and car hire.

An amazing green and fresh island with warm people and great history. The visit to the archaelogical site was rewarding. The natural beauty of the the cataracts and ponds is unique but you need to get there very early in the morning to avoid the crowds. The beaches are not the island's strongest asset but the water quality is great.

beach (round rocks, very clear water) with unpretentious nice beach bar, lovely village cafe and terrace in shade of platan trees, starting point for hike to Saos peak (Fengari). Good food variety, quality and fair prices at Gefiri tavern, Falekas pitas and bougatsa for breakfast and village cafe/ terrace for a drink. Relaxed crowd, alternative, but calm, younger and families seeking quietness and nature. Very green, basically houses and few tavernas scattered among ancient trees, easy to get around on foot or moped. Easy to reach Kamariotissa (20 min drive) and Fonias gorge and vathres (5 min).
