Amazing place with incredible view! Staff is really helpful and accommodating! They were super flexible and moved my booking when I had issues with my flight. Beds are really great, really high quality mattresses and bedsheets. I loved the attention to details in a room, and waking up with a beautiful view is definitely a plus. Service is really high quality as well! The area is really lush and has variety of birds.

The property was without doubt one of the most aesthetically considered hotels we’ve been to. The decor (from the artwork to the furniture to the cutlery) was beautiful and incredibly detail oriented, with a local Guatemala / Mayan theme. The setting was even better, with great views over the lake and nicely nestled into the hills. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. Definitely visit Casa Palopo if you’re visiting Atitlan.

What a fabulous stay! We absolutely loved our experience here and after doing a lot of research believe it may be the nicest property on the entire lake. Facilities were beautiful with stunning views from the rooms and infinity pool. Staff were world-class, always smiling, energetic, friendly, and ready to say yes. They truly went above and beyond. Bartender Cristian is the best! Our upgraded room was spectacular and newly remodeled with a beautiful tub overlooking the lake. Breakfast, dinner, and drinks at the pool bar were all excellent. The hotel also arranged for a great couples massage, laundry service, and a private boat tour of the lake. Thanks so much and we will be back!!

Best stay ever, breakfast was amazing, clean room, grounds and pool/sauna were absolutely stunning. But,most of all - Staff!! The most hospitable, pleasant and carring ppl. Front desk saw we are young (20yrs) and asked us If we want wake up call so we dont miss (prepaid) breakfast. We agreed, and every morning,If we didnt come over by 930am, they would give us a call then,as breakfast would finish by 10am,so we wont miss it. Beyond amazing people.Cleaners were also super sweet! We would go back any time and highly recomend it - Best stay in Panajachel! Loved them all - Thank you

Very nice stay at this beautiful hotel! Breathtaking views everywhere in the property and its surroundings, very nice place to swim at this part of the lake, friendly staff, and also lovely plants and flowers in the hotel property. We often got some delicious fruit shakes to cool down after swimming and spending time in the sun. Would come back!

The town is very small, but visiting each village around the lake was great. I highly recommend private boat rides. Shared boat takes too long and is not reliable. The cost of private if much higher, but is worth it.

San Pedro is very easy to get around on foot, which makes exploring the town simple and convenient. It’s a great location if you’re young and looking for a lively atmosphere and some nightlife, although the bars tend to close fairly early depending on the day. It’s also very easy to visit other towns from San Pedro, as boats run frequently and cost about 60 quetzales for a round trip, making it simple and affordable to explore more of the lake. One thing to be careful about is the after-party bar, where the staff are known for stealing from customers, so it’s best to bring only the strict minimum with you and keep a close eye on your belongings. Overall, it’s a fun and convenient place to stay, especially for younger travellers who want a social atmosphere while still having easy access to other towns nearby.

This is a very safe place, especially travelling with an 18m old baby. You are best to bring a baby carrier - a pram would not be easy with steep hills and cobblestones. The village is clean and the residents are charming and kind. The handicrafts are amazing and it is possible to source directly from the makers at cooperatives. Wonderful views of the lake and mountains. Our favourite places to eat were Utz Food and Bar Restaurant Lolita Restaurant Rostro Maya Our accommodation at Nuevo Sol was beautiful; clean and welcoming with a great view.

One of the quieter towns on the lake that you can still get to on the main lancha routes. There are hostels and parties on the water but the town and hills above are much quieter and good for beautiful views of the lake. Getting around is easy on foot (if you don't mind hills) or tuk tuk. There are lots of of lovely hiking trails all over the town area. There is a wonderful local market on Saturday morning in the town. If you like to cook with local ingredients, make sure you time your stay to visit.

San Marcos la Laguna is a little village bursting with life on the shore of Lake Atitlán. It has a lot of cafes and restaurants to offer an incredible mix of food to choose from. Lot of accomodations are to choose from, but our favorite has been Fuego Atitlan Eco-hotel, nestled just outside of town and surrounded by nature.

Very nice town, up the hill from the boats, plenty to look at and buy, with your good share of markets higher in, plenty of fruits and vegetables to buy, a good appreciation of the native Mayan culture in action, mixed in with a small amount of tourism. Likeable town

Spending a week in Panajachel will offer you quite a bit from sightseeing to dining and shopping. If you wish to stay longer on the lake consider staying in one of the other villages for couple of nights -- san Juan , san pedro or San Marcos to give you a different perspective and experience. It's a great village to walk around.

It's a great village to walk around. It's not just a party town. There are quiet spots. For instance, if you walk up to the main road from the Boat ramp from Panajachel, turn left instead of right, go down to the end and then right, up through the maze of restaurants, places to stay, etc. Very quiet, very nice, very tropical, and different than the heart of the village, which would be if tuned right at the main street - up the hill from the boat ramp, which is only a 2 to 3 minute walk.
