Furthermore - truly welcoming and talkative bartender along with entire staff. Room was spacious and smelled as fresh woodwork. Sea view directly from bed was just awesome.

It was an additional attraction for the child ;) Looking out the window we saw a historic Romanesque house. Hotel is on a ancient roman road which is exposed. The room was beautifully decorated. I like this style. Breakfasts and dinners were very tasty. At dinner there was always some local dish or fish to choose from.

Charming old town, ectrimely romantic at night. Prices seemed to be the lowest along the Istrian cost. If you just staying on the cost I would highly recomend Rovinj area as a base. Pretty much rvery attraction on the peninsular would be within 40 min drive
We stayed for 5 days, but I wish we stayed longer. Great place. History of this town in Istria is amazing. We also took a one day trip to Venice. It was so convenient. The boat docks couple hundred of feet from the Colosseum. We stayed in Hotel Galija which is 10 minutes walk from city center and historical locations. If I can give Hotel and their employees 6 stars I would do so. We are definitely going back next year.
Porec is a little gem on the Istrian peninsula! The promenade along the sea was lovely and the medieval walls, basilica and towers were a high point! The Giostra historic festival during our stay was a high point and the boat to Sveti Nikola beaches was awesome in good weather!
The town is hilly, the streets are curvy and narrow, parking takes a bit of exploration, there is no sand beach. There is lots of shopping and a great 12 km promenade. Wonderful architecture. Easy to get to. Speaking English was really not a problem in the usual tourist activities. Great starting off point to see Istria.
A lovely place to spend a couple days while traveling through Istria and Croatia Plenty of eating options at all levels.
Not our kind of place. We just went there to avoid staying at Pula and should have done more research on the town. It seems very over rated to claim to be the Istrian Riviera!
A good place to stop on your way from Istria or Slovenia to other locales to the east (inland) or south (coastal). It seems like a resort in transition still trying to find itself with old world character contrasting with modern hotels.
We went in winter so it was tourist free and very tranquil. The weather was mild and we were able to bike ride around rural Istria which, with its old stone farms, grapes and olive groves sloping down to the sea, was beautiful. There was plenty to eat: restaurants, local shops and a supermarket. If you visit in summer Novigrad is well set up with swimming areas for children. You can also camp around the bay.
Best part was staying in the town at apart Franko. This quaint village was the best part of our entire trip to Croatia! If you rent a car, and like ‘off the beaten track’ then you MUST go to Hum. The whole area of Istria is amazing
Pula was good. The amphitheater was a great experience to see. Id avoid the restaurants around the square close to the temple. I’d also recommend a drive around Istria, on the coats and also inland. Amazing landscapes within one hour drive.
Višnjan
We spent 5 days in Istria to see the coast and the interior. Apartment Nika turned out to be a great choice because we could visit everything within 30 minutes by car (excellent beaches are 20 minutes away). The apartment is newly renovated, completely clean and equipped. The hosts were at our disposal, but not intrusive. Not only do we recommend this apartment, but we hope to stay here again someday. Don't miss visiting the Višnjan observatory and listening to a lecture about the stars, not even 10 minutes from the apartment.
Pula
The area is beautiful and convenient. The apartment was adequate but the kitchen was small. We stayed in August on a last-minute getaway and the price was high, but comparable due to the timing of our stay. The breakfast at the Park Plaza Histria was amazing and reasonably priced. The sea is only a 1 minute walk and so beautiful. Our Villa was in a quiet area. The water heater in our apartment stopped working and maintenance came immediately to fix the problem.
Bale
The farmhouse is amazing, beautifully renovated yet still authentic and cozy, peaceful and surrounded by Istrian nature. Rovinj and Bale, a hidden gem worth exploring, are near and easily reached by car. The host is wonderful, very attentive and happy to meet all of your needs, and gives great tips for local dining. Breakfast is excellent, all local (or authentic Croatian :) ) foods, fresh fruits and juices, with good coffee. All around good service!
I had an excellent stay at Villa Istriana. Daniela is a very kind & welcoming host, and all the staff were very friendly. It was one of the most welcoming hotels I have ever been to. The dinner, with the fresh fish of the day, was amazing. The room was very clean and it had a sauna & jacuzzi. The location of the hotel was also great, a short drive away from the beach and Umag city center. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel is perfectly located in the centre of the peninsula to visit most of the istrian cost locations. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We booked a premium room with a fantastic balcony, offering a lot of space and a superb view. Interior and exterior style of the hotel is extraordinary. Breakfast is high quality (only exception is the orange juice). Also here, helpful and friendly staff. All in all a very good stay at apprpriate cost.
Buje
Good vibes in a typical Istrian stone house. We arrived very tired, but after a couple of days in the property we were regenerated. Full of flowers all around, we woke up with bird singing in the morning. Very near to highway exit, but fully in the nature among olive trees. Really a dream house! Next time we will stay longer, the location is perfect to explore this part of Croatia, Slovenia and Italy.
Velanera Hotel had a great modern vibe. It was quiet, clean and comfortable, and our room was very spacious. The staff were excellent. A fabulous base for travellers with a car who wish to explore southern Istria - there is ample free parking on site, making this a stress free option. it's about a 12 minutes drive to Pula, and 20 minutes to Cape Kamenjak. There is a good restaurant on site too.
Umag
Our stay at Valentina Apartments was absolutely great, location wise for a family is perfect and quiet, next to the beach with its private little beach garden. The apartment is well equipped and has also available cot, child seat and child beach toys, which made things a lot easier. Valentina was super nice host and I can only recommend her apartment to anyone wishing for a relaxed stay in Istria.
Hosts were extremely helpful & nice! Even picked us up from the parking location & brought us to the hotel via golf cart. Hosts gave us recommendations for things to see & restaurants/bars in the area. Also helped us plan our itinerary for the following day in Istria. One night was not enough. Beautiful room & views! Easy to walk everywhere. Would love to return soon!!
Štinjan
We had a wonderful stay at Apartment Falu for our family holiday to Istria. Martina and Rob were the most kind and hospitable hosts.. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed and was very clean. The pool was our personal favourite and we made good use of it during our stay. I would definitely return to Apartment Falu and would recommend it to others. Thank you Martina and Rob 😊
Hotel Peteani is halfway up the hill leading to Labin Old Town- leaving a ten minute steep walk to the top where there are terraced restaurants and bars overlooking fantastic views. The rooms were expensively furnished and well maintained. The staff were super helpful. The breakfast was one of the best during our stay in Istria. Sauna and Steam Rooms were available at no charge.
Motovun
Breakfast is the strongest point: homemade by the hosts, from the ingredients that they grow on the property or collect in the surroundings. Something your Croatian grandmother would serve you. With a car, you can reach anywhere in Istria from there in 30 mins. With location near Motovun, there are wineries around, quite renown in Croatia, Fakin, Tomaz, Roxanich.
Vižinada
Terrific location, quiet with great view of Motovun. Rita (host) has been remarkably helpful in picking the right locations to visit as well beaches to get splendid views and clear water. Apartment looked exactly as on the pictures with terrace giving beautiful view on the sunrise. When we come back to Istria, we will definitely stay at Rita's place again.
Vinkuran
A beautiful apartment with a small terrace in a great location, making it perfect to access most of the towns in Istria. Accommodation is close enough to the city and just far enough to disconnect and enjoy the silence. The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful. We even got pampered with Croatia's best delicacies. Good parking. Highly recommend!
Rovinj
Hosts met us to welcome and check-in was very fast. Apartment is very spacious, especially bathroom. There are windows in kitchen and bathroom, so apartment is full of light. All furniture is almost new, there is everything you need in the kitchen, only was missing modern wine glasses (cause there are a lot interesting wines in Istria region)
Kanfanar
We really enjoyed our stay at Apartments Faris! The pool is amazing with views towards the sea. Friendly hosts, and a convenient location right in the middle of Istria, perfect for exploring both inland towns and beaches. The place is located in a small village and is well maintained. We had one plumbing issue but the hosts resolved it quickly.
Pula
I really loved this accommodation. It is a great find for a very competitive price. I did a round trip through Istria, starting and ending here at Hostel Art & Joy. I already wrote a review with more details about this lovely place on the other booking I made. Overall I would definitely come back here any time I visit Pula again.
Had a lovely holiday in this apartment complex! We stayed here for 2 weeks, with our dog and he also was very welcome. The apartment was so clean. The host Elisa is the sweetest. The location is perfect if you want to visit other places in Istria, very central. We would definitely come back if we go to Croatia.
Banjole
The apartment was super clean, comfortable and beautiful. Everything was new. Comfortable bed, big terrace. Dish washer and washing machine were big plus. Great position for exploring Istria by car, few minutes away from nature park Kamenjak. Host was great, communication was easy and pleasent. 10/10
Motovun
Great location on the fringe of the old town with marvellous views of the Istrian hills. Hosts were terrific and they have outfitted the apartment with everything you would need for a comfortable stay of short or long duration. Would highly recommend Apartment Motovun.
