SwedenWe found Kelong when we were looking for a small resort on Bintan, "bamboo-in-the-jungle" style, with both a beach and AC in the rooms. We stayed three nights but would have loved to stay longer because the place is wonderful. 10 bungalows so intimate feeling, but by far the best thing is the staff. Linda and the team are very friendly, warm and helpful. The food in the restaurant is good too. We recommend it 100% and will come back.

The 3 properties Banyan Tree, Angsana and Cassia are interconnected so we can choose from an array of restaurants. The people working provided exceptional hospitality. Specially Tata who served us at reception. And at the Lotus cafe the lady was so lovely to provide us with egg free pastries on request. Vegetarian options are basic but its all good quality of food. The hotel rooms had exceptional view. All in all we wished we stayed anothet night.

The villa was exactly as advertised, clean, comfortable and the private pool was great fun. The location was very peaceful, and we didn’t hear any noise overnight. Beds were comfortable and rooms were really nicely done. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They helped us to arrange transfers to activities we wanted to do on the island. The beach here was quiet, clean and very beautiful. The hotel food was nice and the restaurant has a lovely beach view. There are also food options in Lagoi which is only 5mins away in a taxi and the taxi cost very little. The hotel arranged taxis for us which made it super easy to pop in when we wanted to pick bits up. Information online is fairly scarce about Lagoi, so for info we found warung yeah! Which is a reasonably priced eatery offering a pretty extensive menu at a smaller cost than the resort hotels, and we found a bbq place in Lagoi. There are also some street vendors selling world food options, again for a good price. There is also a bar but that was on the pricey side. You could easily eat in Lagoi for a good price. Alternatively if travelling further afield the restaurants at Nirwana Gardens were lovely and about 15mins away by taxi. We really enjoyed our stay overall.

Great facilities. Amazing swimming pool and a fantastic recreation area with a great kids section also. The chocolate hour was a highlight and is a super nice gesture. They also have comfortable pick up and drop services and the staff are super friendly and accommodating!

Lagoi is a beautiful place & not a known destination to many...
Lagoi is a beautiful place & not a known destination to many. Its just about 1 hr ferry ride from Singapore. Indians get visa on arrival at Indonesia, so the immigration is pretty smooth. There are many branded hotels in the area & best is the access to beach. The beach is very clean with clear & shallow waters. There are many restaurants & shopping in the area. The sightseeing is very good & well maintained. You get easy transport & even Grab works here. I recommend this place to all.

We stayed in the resort for everything, so can't really comment on anything else in the area.
We were happy to spend time there relaxing, enjoying the resort amenities and eating in the resort restaurants.
I'm unsure if anything else in the area is worth visiting or any good.

TP is not really a tourist place.
TP is not really a tourist place. The infrastructure is not really developed and the rubbish and water pollution is not under control.
Its certainly interresting to see a third world country , but without any help of local people a foreingner is lost.

It was a very relaxing trip.
It was a very relaxing trip. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi in our room which faces the sea. We also enjoyed the snorkeling trip, the staff who went with us helped us to take pictures underwater. The equipment provided was safe and also adequate. The whole resort feels tranquil. Would be better if there is a gym.

I was able to witness a local wedding and was welcomed by the community.
Met with the local indigenous tribe Orang Laut (Sea Gypsy) and learned a lot about their culture.
Staying for a month I did miss the western food sometimes, but I found an amazing coffee shop with French pastries which would not be out of place in Melbourne.
The seafood was very tasty in other restaurants.
People are very friendly and accommodating. Much less crowded than Bali and cleaner.
I would definitely visit again.

Lagoi is a great getaway place, and only an hour by ferry from Singapore. A wide variety of accommodation and many places to eat. We also went to the sand dunes and 'Blue lake' at Telaga Biru/Gurun Pasir Bintan.

We arrived via ferry and the hotel organised all the transport from ferry terminal to the hotel and then back again when we left- this was amazing and really useful! Staff were super friendly, we were able to do everything we wanted and it was not super busy so always space to eat and sit by the pool.

Not much of tourism destination. But food is excellent and cheap. A great choice of seafood lover. Lack of convenience public transport for tourist. Local people are tremendously nice . Spent your time to visit Penyengat island which is nearby for a culture and heritage experience !
