Breakfast is great - lots of variety and quality/healthy food. The rooms are massive compared to other places I have stayed in Cork city (e.g. you couldn't swing a cat in the rooms in the Dean). There are indoor and outdoor pools (the latter is heated and especially nice in very cold weather) and the gym is very good compared to most hotel gyms (lots of strength/cardio equipment in fairly good condition, and lots of space for free weights, classes etc.). Parking on-site/underground - so handy and again not something every hotel in Cork city has. The little coffee area at the back has a lovely view of the river - a nice spot to read a book and have a coffee. The reception staff are super friendly and welcoming, as are the staff in the bar/breafast area. I've stayed here a few times for work in the last year and, having stayed in loads of other hotels in Cork over the years, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cork city now - it's always very easy/nice/stress-free.

We weren't expecting breakfast included, but it was included and very good. The staff were all very polite and attentive, especially the lady who served us at breakfast and checkout. I had made a request through chat and was informed that they would do their best to accommodate my request. On the day of checking, the same lady called me to let me know that they would be able to accommodate my request and was very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. There was nothing we didn't like.

My first stay in Eccles and would definitely return. Did not get to spend much time in the hotel itself but when we were there we were very happy. Staff were very friendly, Bar food was gorgeous and great value. Only a short walk to the town. If a view is important to you ensure to pay the extra and book a Sea View room. Would return and recommend.

Cork city is a very special place.

Cork city is a very special place. The genuine warmth and outgoing friendliness of the locals always brings us back. So many must-visits: the English Market for its food and Farm Gate Restaurant on the first floor; the music sessions in the many bars; the shops on the pedestrianised Oliver Plunkett Street; Paradiso Restaurant, consistently outstanding for over 20 years and you don't have to be a vegetarian to love the food.

Cobh is wonderfully walkable with so much to do.

Cobh is wonderfully walkable with so much to do. Seasalt is a lovely cafe for breakfast or lunch, with fresh, creative, local food and warm, welcoming servers. The view of the harbor from the window seats makes it a perfect spot for coffee, tea, a bite, and some people-watching. Across the street is the Titanic Experience, which gives visitors a true feel for what the passengers experienced. It's heart-breaking. The gorgeous Deck of Cards is a hike up a very steep street but worth it. At the top is the astonishing St. Colman's Cathedral, which oversees the harbor. The Saturday market has wonderful artwork, clothing, and local foods. And traveling across the harbor to Spike Island is a fascinating combination of nature hike and historical tours.

The proximity to Ballyhass water park was very convenient.

The proximity to Ballyhass water park was very convenient. Unfortunately, the restaurants close very early (between 9 and 10 pm). So it is very difficult to get a decent late meal. We would recommend the Khao Asian restaurant, it was fantastic. We would NOT recommend rhe Hibernian Hotel. The food is absolutely awful.

You would need a car to take full advantage of all the area has to offer if you intend a long stay but there are plenty of on site activities and a number of short and medium walks from the hotel itself. It is good to explore the different dining options available. The Hunted Hog offers a varied and delicious menu that is very reasonable
