The location obviously can't be beaten. The lake view from the room brought serenity and calm. The staff was polite and allowed for privacy. The room was clean. Loved the variety and the quality of the plant based options for breakfast, just outstanding. Enjoyed also the dinner experience in the hotel restaurant - excellent and attentive chef. Great location, in the center of town...Baltimore is tiny so that wasn't hard to achieve. We were traveling off season so everything was quiet, I'm sure high season might be very different as far as noise level. The room was larger than most, I was traveling with a friend and for a small older hotel, we were both able to open our luggage at the same time, It's the little things in life while you're traveling. The staff was super nice and very accommodating. We had a beautiful view of the water. Breakfast was excellent, rooms clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

We weren't expecting breakfast included, but it was included and very good. The staff were all very polite and attentive, especially the lady who served us at breakfast and checkout. I had made a request through chat and was informed that they would do their best to accommodate my request. On the day of checking, the same lady called me to let me know that they would be able to accommodate my request and was very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. There was nothing we didn't like.

Cork itself was a great experience.

Cork itself was a great experience. The city has a relaxed atmosphere, friendly people, and everything is easy to reach. It isn’t overly populated, the air feels clean, and there’s plenty of space to move around without the stress of a crowded city. It’s vibrant without being overwhelming, offering lots to see and do while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. The only thing to be aware of is that winters can feel quite cold and moist, so good layers are a must.

Went with an almost 4 year old - there was plenty for him to be entertained by. There is a lovely playground along the pier (and a smaller one very close to the town centre also at the sea front) and he also enjoyed watching the passing boats and a cruise ship. We also went to Titanic museum which he enjoyed.

The Blarney Castle was a challenge, taking children up or going up with high heels or anything that is not good foot gear , I would not recommend. Steps are wet and steep. Very tight stairwell. Scary . However it took us a bit to go up. And we made it. Going down is easier. A bucket list for sure.

The proximity to Ballyhass water park was very convenient. Unfortunately, the restaurants close very early (between 9 and 10 pm). So it is very difficult to get a decent late meal. We would recommend the Khao Asian restaurant, it was fantastic. We would NOT recommend rhe Hibernian Hotel. The food is absolutely awful.

You would need a car to take full advantage of all the area has to offer if you intend a long stay but there are plenty of on site activities and a number of short and medium walks from the hotel itself. It is good to explore the different dining options available. The Hunted Hog offers a varied and delicious menu that is very reasonable
