This place is amazing — and clearly underrated. The facilities are clean and charming, with amazing views to the city, hills and also the mountains on clear days. The food is excellent, with an abundant breakfast buffet, and the staff couldn’t be more courteous. It’s the kind of place that really adds to the “feel good” experience on a trip. Could not imagine staying elsewhere in Darjeeling. (The location is a bit on a hilltop in town, but they offer free drop off & pick up to the core of downtown every day. The pick up service from the IXB airport was also very useful.)

A special mention to Kunal Parui, a young and dedicated restaurant staff member, who took exceptional care of us. His sincerity and warmth made our stay even more special. I had a very pleasant stay at Peerless Hotel Kolkata. The location is excellent, close to major landmarks and right in the heart of the city, which makes getting around very easy. The hotel itself is comfortable and well maintained. My room was spacious, clean and quiet, with everything I needed for a relaxed stay. After a busy day in Kolkata, it was nice to come back to a calm and welcoming environment. The staff were courteous, attentive and always ready to assist. Overall, a reliable and comfortable choice when staying in Kolkata. I would gladly return.

It was family friendly and staff were supoer friendly and courteous. I really enjoyed dinning there and having a couple beers in the bar by the second floor. Super close to the airport which was what I needed. Standards were high enough, I refused going to cheaper places because I needed somewhere safe and clean for my family, and they met my expectations for having spent that extra buck.

That's the place to be when in Kolkata. Unique atmosphere, small, very personal, friendly, every single person working there made us feel welcome and looked after us, comfortable rooms and beds, fantastic food. We feel it is a home away from home and for us it's the best location. Metro is near, nice to just walk around the area.

Kolkata is an amazing blend of colonial history and modern energy. As a solo traveler, I never felt bored! Walking across the Howrah Bridge and catching a sunset at Prinsep Ghat were my absolute favorite activities. Finding great food is incredibly easy—from local kathi rolls on the street to cozy cafes. Public transport is well-connected, making it simple to hop between attractions. The humidity can be tough in the afternoons, so try to plan your outdoor activities for the morning!

Mayapur is all about Hare Krishna, Sree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and ISKON. That's it. There are many places of worship related to Sree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu or ISKON. Make sure you have a vegetarian diet planning while staying in Mayapur.

Compared with other states of India like Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai & Delhi, Kolkata is not up to the desired standard's. Specially transportation facilities, cleanliness and hygiene, living standards not to the expected level.

Salt lake City is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful area but the Oyo guest house and the owners are worst..they charge extra gst for online booking as well.They didn’t allow to stay before receiving the message though we showed the booking confirmation…

This was the first time I stepped out of Kolkata airport.

This was the first time I stepped out of Kolkata airport. Probably not the best weather (mid-July). It was pouring, but still very hot ~ 30+ degrees.. hence very muggy weather. Didn't explore much, probably worth another visit in Winter, with some more time in hand.

Very neat and clean food is good but in less quantity according to price is much expensive. Lift room swimming pool and moving area excellent restaurant good. Staff was very aware to host guest. Finally it was nice stay.

The hotel is 20-25 mins drive from the new ISKCON temple,...

The hotel is 20-25 mins drive from the new ISKCON temple, there are some more temples in the way. Parking charges in front of gate 4 is 150/- on March 2026. Entrance to all the temples are free as of now. Food was nice in hotel Nilachal, both veg and non veg are available. Room service and dining can be done. A small window view from Room 206 into the railway tracks is awesome, I loved it.

Kolkata is excellent from 5th April to 8th April 2026 .But "Hotel season" is worst in Darjeeling 2nd April to 5th April 2026.Delete from your record permanently.It was fraud totally.Send me your action asap in my mail."Pawan Sharma" was the main culprit as he forced me to transfer hotel stay money to his own pvt. account not the account of "hotel season."That's why called fraud and mafiya.

Calcutta is not new to me. I spent 7 years earlier. Its history is what one has to study. The Anglo-Saxon architecture, the monuments like Victoria, the lakes, Eden Gardens, Maidan etc. are wonderful.
