The setting and views were breathtaking. You could seen the temples lit up at night from the courtyard. We had dinner at the hotel and it was lovely. The breakfast buffet was exquisite. The view from that room was also awesome. We enjoyed the hot tub after our long day at the Valley of the Temples. It was close to the ocean so we were also able to go for a swim. The room was big and beautiful. Parking was a plus.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Very modern in a Medieval style village, well maintained and clean. The room was a good size & bed comfy. Breakfast had everything we needed and plus. Everyone on the staff went out of their way for us, so very friendly. The hotel owner even taxied us to the downtown dinner/show being played with the 'Valley of the Temples' as a backdrop! We left the hotel feeling part of the family. Thank you Alba Palace for your sincere Sicilian Hospitality. We want to come back.

This place just stole my heart. A place where you can relax both body and soul. Very beautiful, cosy, quiet and family warmth. On accommodation we didn’t find any minuses, everything was excellent. And breakfasts are just a kind of art, which is accompanied by beautiful music. Do I want to come back? Definitely yes!

Agrigento is one of Sicily’s most unforgettable towns, full...

Agrigento is one of Sicily’s most unforgettable towns, full of charm, history, warmth, and authentic local character. Just minutes from the magnificent Doric temples of the Valley of the Temples, Agrigento offers something far richer than a quick sightseeing stop. The temples draw visitors from around the world, but the city itself feels like the real Sicily: sunlit stone streets, sweeping sea views, lively piazzas, family-run restaurants, beautiful churches, and a slower rhythm that invites you to stay, wander, and truly experience the island. What makes Agrigento so special is the way ancient history and everyday Sicilian life exist side by side. You can spend the morning walking among some of the most extraordinary Greek ruins in the world, then enjoy an espresso in the historic center, explore quiet alleyways filled with balconies and flowers, and end the evening with fresh seafood, local wine, and a golden sunset over the Mediterranean. Agrigento is not polished in a generic tourist way, and that is exactly its magic. It is real, soulful, welcoming, and deeply Sicilian. For travelers who want beauty, history, culture, and authenticity all in one place, Agrigento is a city that deserves to be experienced, not just visited. While you're there, make sure to visit Bar Atenea for some local favorites in a small, warm, eclectic atmosphere, Caffe Concordia for the BEST cornettoes and pastries in the city, and Le Boccerie for the BEST pizza....try their mortadella pizza with pistachio pesto - life changing!

B&B Arena was the perfect spot to stop on our Sicily road trip. It is a few steps to the beach, rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. The beach is sandy, and free to access. There is also a small restaurant that has lovely pasta and pizza (at the south end of the beachfront). I hope I can return to Sicily and stay with Sirena again!

Our stay in Zingarello was delightful. The highlights of the trip were the beach, and our visit to the Valle dei Templi, a fantastic archeological site w/ Greek temples dating back to 600 BC. The duomo and nearby church of Santa Maria dei Greci are also well worth seeing. Many good restaurants close by.

We saw a lot of day tour buses coming from Palermo, Catania, and maybe other places. While Agrigento is certainly doable as a day trip, our recommendation is to spend two nights and a full day. That way you'd have two slow, enjoyable dinners in the town (has great restaurants), two beautiful mornings with coffee on a terrace, and a full day to enjoy the Valley of the Temples at the slower pace than most tourist groups endure. And as a definite "bucket list" item, the Valley deserves it: take your time to stroll among the ruins, contemplate the lives of the people here 2,500 years ago, the beautiful sea scenery up and down the coast, slow aperitif hour on the town with the view of the Valley from the top.. If you don't rush, you'll enjoy it so much more

We arrived from the Netherlands, but we both are Hungarians, so we needed to get used with the Italian lifestyle, like the siesta time, when there almost nothing is opened to get some food or drink. In exchange the places like restaurants are opened till late night. You also need to pay attention during riding by car, the traffic a little bit hectic, but it is easy too deal with it.
