Very positive surprise! Lovely hotel! Wonderful location. The „whole hill“ towards the see belongs to the hotel and is arranged as a lovely garden with a lot of places to take a rest and enjoy the view. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Seems to be a family business and they really like to do their job. For a 3* hotel a lot of surprising features: whirlpool which can be rented privately for 40min. Sauna( which I did not use), massage ( which was excellent!) and possible three course dinner every night . Overall really good athmosphere and fantastic location!

My family and I absolutely loved this hotel. It was a perfect three-day seaside escape during our 11-day trip around Italy, where we spent most of our time exploring the major cities. Choosing to stay here for a few days was one of the best decisions we made, and we don't regret it at all. The hotel is peaceful, cozy, and welcoming—a place where you can truly relax and unwind.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Acacie, overall it met our expectations. we were in the residence rather than the hotel so we did not have any meals there.. We self catered for breakfast and went out for dinner, note you need a car of course, there are no restaurants in walking distance other than the hotel itself. Its right on a nice beach, which has a free beach area as well as hotel sunbeds etc available to hire. Nice pool area also.

We recently stayed at Hotel Fabricia. One of the highlights of our stay was the hotel's pool. It was clean, beautifully maintained, and provided a perfect spot to relax and unwind. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming staff. Their attentiveness and genuine friendliness made us feel right at home.

We loved our time at Isola Verde. The staff were helpful and professional and made us feel welcome. The pool was fabulous, clean, plenty of loungers, and shade with a lifeguard present. The grounds are beautiful, lush, and very well cared for. We had breakfast each morning, which was buffet style with loads of choice.

After a 12 day tour of Spain, France, and Italy, we found Portoferraio very relaxing and beautiful. We spent most of our time at our hotel because everything we needed was right there - from the pool and beach to the dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The sunsets every evening were stunning! We enjoyed our adventure of driving to Procchio Beach where we rented chairs and an umbrella on the sandy beach and enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear sea, eating delicious pizza at a nearby restaurant, and stopping at a small stand for a gelato before we left.

Beautiful hilltop village. Lovely restaurants and bars nearby and some cater for gluten free options. Probably would hire a car next time but the bus service around the island is very reliable. Need to go to Portoferrio first for most destinations.

We came here two years ago and spent 4 days after travelling for over 12 days through France and Italy by car from.the UK. Both times at the end of Season end of Sept early October. Not too hot but like a sensible English summertime. This time we were here a little longer, we flew into Florence and after a few days there hired a car and switched to "avoid motorways" on our sat nav, this took us to Siena through the Tuscany vineyards and stopping at the beautiful village of Castilla di Chianti we ventured on to and stopped in Siena, then onto Piombino port to get the 1 hour ferry to Elba Island. You can fly into Pisa and train to Piombino port in about 90 minutes. But driving through Tuscany was fantastic. This time on Elba we took our time, explored a little with the car, Marciana Marina 22 minutes north of Marina di Campo is a beautiful harbour town, my wife wanted to visit it a second time before we left the island. The coastal road has many villages and towns, but Marina di Campo has the best 1.8km beach. Poggio on top of the hill has a nice view out to sea as somewhere to stop for lunch. There is a warm welcome everywhere on this Island. We went on a 6hr fishing trip from Marina di Campo, which included, reeling in fish, a very lovely lunch with the other travellers and the crew, a swim off the boat in a secluded cove and some very lovely company. Basic, but worth every minute, we will both do this again for sure and we are not really into fishing. Car, scooters and cycle hire is available on the Island.

The village is pleasant, sports some nice boutiques, bars and restaurants (including a veggie one to my intense delight) and brimming with events in the summer evenings, although not all of them were to my liking. The sea promenade is very nice, the village center is nice but can be crowded at least in August. The surroundings offer not just some beautiful beaches that can be easily reached by car or, if you like a short hike, on foot, but also a lot of opportunities for hiking in the nature. In the harbour you can rent a boat or find day trips to Pianosa or to other locations around the island. If you're into nature, in the village you can find a whale watching association offering day trips for dolphin spotting, and another offering diving/snorkeling trips and kids laboratories on marine biology. The main cons of the location is that the main access road to the village is pretty busy at certain times (in particular around dinner time), at least in high season, this can be sometimes a real nuisance and in any case you want to take it into account if you have made plans for the evening.

The check-in & check-out times make no sense at all. The check-in is only at 16:00 and check out at 10:00am. I have never seen something like this before and found unbelievable. In the end they take 25% of a full day payment with this schedule. I have requested late checkout and thankfully they were able to accept. otherwise it would have been a huge inconvenient to fit within their non-sense timings.

Marciana is a small, fine town with an old, well-preserved building structure that lives from tourism but is careful not to overcrowd the town with tourists. This way it remains authentic. The people there are usually helpful and friendly. However, very few of them can speak English.

An Elba Pass (bus pass)gives unlimited bus use for 1, 3 or 6 days and even if you have a car it gives you really good access to the island, stress-free and able to enjoy a few beers or glasses of wine! The Gourmet Food Court is great (wide selection of excellent food - I had the best Caesar salad of my life at the outlet that advertises itself as a pasta specialist(!). It is air conditioned superbly and underneath there is a shop that is one of those "we sell everything - and really cheap!" shops that is WELL worth a look (some great stuff in there). Do use the infoPark (Tourist Info) on the corner of Calata Italia and the bus station. They can give you a really good map and point out where the ATMs are (amongst other things, of course). For everyday stuff, I recommend the Coop Supermarket (InfoPark will point it out). Good range of stuff and good prices but don't expect to buy any over the counter medicines like aspirin or paracetamol like we do in England. Supermarkets don't stock it and you will have to try out your Italian at the Farmacia! I think you will love it.

Great Italian town with lots of restaurants and cute shops.

Great Italian town with lots of restaurants and cute shops. At night the city comes (even more) to life and the city center is filled with people. The little harbor is fun to walk through and if you walk a little further you can hike along the walls of a fortress (now a prison) and end up at a very nice pebble beach.
