Gambarie is a small town in Parco Nazionale dell’Aspromonte. The hotel is a 5 minute walk, from the centre of town,set in a peaceful location. The staff are customer driven, willing to create a ‘Calabrian’ experience, friendly yet remain professional. The buffet style breakfast has many options. Dinner is recommended for local choices - delicious. The service was excellent, very clean rooms ( great showers). and common areas. The big swimming pool a bonus!

We chose an agriturismo because we like to meet locals, and have an authentic experience. And we were very happy to say that we did! Domenico was so hospitable, we spent many hours with him talking (via Google translate) about his farm, and life in general. We ate breakfast and dinner, which was cooked by Domenico. It featured products from his farm and also local cheeses and vegetables. We had some specific dietary requests, and he went out of his way to look after us. The farm is a real working farm, and the liquors that Domenico produces are so delicious! As are the salami and other products. We were a short drive from the beautiful town of Gerace, and not far from Roccella and other lovely places.

Much bigger than I expected, a proper little house, and super central. Well equipped kitchen with food provided for a do-it-yourself breakfast. Could easily have spent longer than the 2 nights we had. Parking right outside (a reserved space for the property), which I imagine is a huge bonus in high season. Owner was v helpful and everything was very smooth!

Really enjoyable stay. Lovely place, great host. Lots of great coffee while looking across the sea from the balcony. Particularly at dawn. Open fire on a cold evening too! We'll be back!
