A gorgeous peaceful location surrounded by fields and mountains. A warm welcome from Egi and her staff. Great food cooked by them in a beautiful, traditional house. Breakfast was typically Italian and sweet, but Egi cooked me scrambled eggs on request. Nothing was too much trouble.

This hotel was a total positive surprise. The location is nothing special, just near the highway, BUT: completely renovated 2 years ago, including garden, hall and our floor (as I understand one floor will be renovated this year or next year) - the whole place looks brand new and neat and modern a fresh. A fantastic feel. Staff is superb. Tiziana at the desk, tireless, smiling and patient, pays so much attention for our comfort, asking us at checkin what type of room we would like (shower or bath? etc). We felt so much attention and caring from her. We improvised this stay as our other hotel was canceled and just stopped exactly at the nearby gas station, to look for a hotel - this is how we ended up here. We had time for a dinner at the restaurant, wonderful kind staff there too, nice food, smile and patience. Can only recommend to stay here, and thanks for everyone at the hotel to give us this surprise and make us feel in total comfort and peace, after a loooong tiring driving day. We will be back, definitely !

The location is an old farm villa with some land around it, very well kept, very beautiful and calming. The owners are a very kind couple, extremely well mannered and their breakfast is perfect. The room was nice and fresh, the towels were clean and tidy. I was working on a table in the garden and the Lady brought me water and asked me whether I needed anything else. Both of them very kind and welcoming.

Situated in perfect location Very helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to find us a good parking space. We had a late evening arrival and check in was very smooth and efficient. The breakfast was delicious with all homemade cakes and tarts. I highly recommend a stay here.

Very helpful staff. We asked if they could print documents for our return flight and they graciously printed numerous copies for us. The room was perfect and the morning selection of breakfast was great. We only stayed one night but would highly recommend staying at Borgo Antico. A+++++

We stayed in Fiuggi as our daughter was staying in the same...

We stayed in Fiuggi as our daughter was staying in the same area for her college football tournament. We ate at a few nice restaurants - bistro and GoGo. Would recommend visiting here for an evening meal. There is a bar across from the hotel - lots of different beers to try. Lots of bars and shops in close proximity to each other. Accessible by foot. Supermarket well stocked with lots of basic essentials.

Cassino is a town of much historical significance and is...

Cassino is a town of much historical significance and is very welcoming to visitors. The abbey is a must see, as are the war cemeteries. I recommend a guide, mine was Dr Danila Bracaglia who is so knowledgeable.

WE LOVED THIS TOWN!

WE LOVED THIS TOWN! So Charming--even in off season, we had a great selection of wonderful restaurants, bakeries and bars. The town has a wonderful feel and lots of places to visit. It is also very close to other mediaeval towns that are great day trips. We even got an incredible massage just 15 minutes away in Fiuggi. We want to go back!

Really historic and pretty city, walking Lungoliri feels a bit like a miniature version of Paris at times. Historic CentroSora, Canceglie, Borgo San Rocco, and gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains. I will visit again. But please, Lord in Heaven, fix the roads in and into/outof the city!

We chose the location because the city was among many other...

We chose the location because the city was among many other places we planned to visit but we could as well just spend the time lazy-making in the hotel area. There are some bars and (probably) more expensive restaurants serving local dishes. Worth mentioning, the hotel cooperates with international gastronomy and enology school next door. As the weather was challenging, we didn't manage to reach every place and we certainly return in the future with the greatest pleasure. The manager in the reception provided us with a handful of information about many other places we could visit, like Basilica Concattedrale di Santa Maria Salome, and other churche . The minuscule city of Veroli is very well maintained, compared to the others nearby. As far as distinctive places, there is a City Museum, and the most important artifact are so called Fasti Verulani - one of the very few original ancient Roman calendar tables done most probabaly at the times of Octavian Augustus' rule. There is also the newly opened Palazzo Marchese just a few steps from the Filonardi palace, where one may find a super informative exhibition concerning ancient peoples living in this part of Lazio before Romans came. In the nearby cities you have medieval frescoes in Anagni cathedral, another megalithic walls (Alatri), Renaissance palace (Trisoli), Cicero's birth place (Arpino).

Arpino is my family home.

Arpino is my family home. Parents grew up there so it is a familiar village for myself. It has changed significantly over the last 60 years -lots of small businesses gone. The community spirit still exists in the month of August - lots of events going on. If you want to experience Arpino at night then avoid the week of the Gonfalone. It's madness. So much history in the village as it dates back to Julius Caesar's time. Not for the fainthearted though if you want to explore all the narrow alleys. Views are breathtaking. I will be going back but will book for early August

This region of Lazio has been hit hard in WWII.

This region of Lazio has been hit hard in WWII. So if you are looking for medieval towns, keep looking. But it is a great place to use as a base to travel to Rome or Naples. It´s close to Montecassino and the abbey, which is a must see when you are in the area. Or visit Reggia Caserta. There is a trainstation nearby in Cassino with great links to Rome or Naples.

Lush nature, fantastic hills, so many historical places and towns with breathtaking sights at every corner. Great both for families and for those seeking action. If you’re a mountain biker you will absolutely fall in love with the area: tens of kilometers of roads and paths to discover in varying degree of difficulty. In one word: awesome.

Easy to navigate once familiar with signage.

Easy to navigate once familiar with signage. Felt maybe there could have been more available buses however taxis were prompt up to between 7-8 pm in the evening only. There was no available persons to chat with at the railway station which impacted on plans to visit other places of interest. The highlight of our visit was Montecassino Abby , steeped in history of the world war it was Amazing , my second visit there in 2 years bringing a friend along who’s Polish father fought in the war!! The war memorial was breathtaking to witness as was the commonwealth memorials.

I spent two weekends in Anangi, the first weekend exploring...

I spent two weekends in Anangi, the first weekend exploring and listening to a jazz band play . The second weekend I revisited and booked a ticket to the Cathedral and the crypt underneath. Definitely worth a visit if you are into art. Also the Bonafacie palazzo was interesting to visit. There is also another church to visit with interesting art work in the centre of the Borgo medieval village area. Parking available in a public multi storey park below the cathedral and a 5 minute walk , Sundays in the white squares can be free unless there is a festival on. Otherwise paid parking in the blue lines. A nice town to walk around and explore.
