The staff were very professional, friendly and accommodating. The room was very spacious, with a coffee machine and kettle available. The bathroom was also quite large and spacious. Both the room and the bathroom were very clean, with really nothing to complain about. The bed was comfy and a good selection of pillows. Breakfast was complete with different options available to all dietary requirements. Every morning there were different options from the previous day, allowing one to taste different dishes. The location is a quiet area a few minutes walk from Stazzione Termini or Castro Pretoria underground station. Taxis are available quite easily due to the proximity to Stazzione Termini. On arrival, we were given some recommendations for restaurants in the area as well in the centre. We took these recommendations and tried Strada Romana, just a few minutes walk away. The staff were very helpful, carrying out the booking themselves for us.

We loved the location - the setting of Aeneas Landing is stunning and hard to beat. The cabins on the beach (where we stayed) are so close to the sea, and it's lovely to hear the waves. The architecture of the resort is really special and distinctive - we particularly love the pool and bar area. All of the planting and garden spaces are gorgeous. The beach is well-maintained and perfect for relaxing on. The breakfast is amazing - the best cornetti I've ever had in Italy! Honestly wonderful. We also had lunch in the restaurant one afternoon. I am from the area and find the prices very inflated, but what we had (3 contorni) was delicious. One evening, we had some family come to visit us at the bar. We all had one (expensive) drink, but the staff brought out an incredible spread of aperitivi snacks. A nice touch.

Hotel la Playa was located right on the beach and situated right on the main road where all the restaurants and shops were. The hotel pool is incredible, clean, large and deep (with a shallow end as well). The beach is gorgeous and there is a hotel lifeguard on the beach to keep the clientele and their things safe. Hotel accommodations included beach beds and umbrellas which was a huge relief. The included breakfast was very good with many options and the cappuccino was delicious. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. We strongly recommend Hotel la Playa for your stay in Sperlonga and will return without a doubt!

We arrived very open minded - our first visit to Ponza turned out to be an amazing holiday. Rooms are nice, not very big, but comfortable and spotlessly clean. A good breakfast is offered in a beautiful garden (the best torta di mele), excellent choice of fresh frutis, cold cuts, eggs… needless to say, excellent coffee. But, above everything, friendly and helpful staff are the soul of the hotel…and the spa. Probably the best we have ever seen - so charming and so different than any other spa you will find in the world. What a jewel, we must be back….

Most of all, the staff - the ladies on Reception (Francesca especially) were delightful and so helpful when we decided to stay on for an extra night. The restaurant staff achieved the perfect balance between being friendly and yet professional. The beach is fantastic, the food is great, my room had a balcony with sea view - couldn't have asked for more really. The location between Gaeta and Sperlonga is perfect for visiting either town. The lifts all over the hotel made getting around so easy.

I was going to go into ROme but it was so hot so I decided to stay near the airport for last two days. I am so glad I picked this hotel as it was near the sea. Great restaurants around. Lovely day on a sunbed and bobbed up and down in the lagoon. Lovely, plain sea front but good for sunbathing

For those going on a cruise it is an ideal place to spend some time rather than rush down to the port from the airport or Rome on the morning of embarkation, especially if you've travelled from abroad. There are some things to see like the fort and architecture plus nice, reasonably priced restaurants. Everything is walkable and close to the cruise port which includes a free shuttle service.

The Island is magical, especially if you go out in a boat to swim or scuba dive, or explore the small beaches outside the town. However, smaller easier to ride scooters and not available--only big motorcycles. And cars are forbidden for tourists. So transportation can be a big problem unless you are entirely comfortable driving a big motorcycle.

Gaeta was a new town for us to see.

Gaeta was a new town for us to see. We were surrounded by mostly Italian vacationers vs. a more international mix of people like you might see in Cinque Terre. This is what I was hoping for as it allowed us to experience authentic Italy. I was particularly impressed by how fit and active everyone was no matter the age. If I were to go again, I’d stay in the historic part just to have a different experience of that section of town and get to appreciate the architecture more. But I’m absolutely satisfied with the newer area we stayed in as it still allowed us to walk to everything and access some incredible beaches. The sand beneath our feet in the clear water was lovely!!

The city's historic heart is definitely worth a few days' visit to learn about its history and enjoy its nightlife, with several charming and welcoming venues. Since it's not very close to the sea (allow at least a 20-minute walk to the beach and at least 25-30 minutes to walk back up if you have children), we see it as a more suitable location for young people and couples interested in nightlife rather than beach life, which still has much to offer. The historic center becomes a limited traffic zone from 8:00 PM until the early hours of the morning. Parking outside the walls is recommended.

Viterbo is a small city but full of beautiful places, churches to visit. Full of history. Lovely people. The only downside is the transport. It is very difficult to get a taxi. If you have a luggage its difficult to wheeled it along the road/cobble. More signpost is needed for buses and possibly taxi lane.
