The staff were exceptional. The reception staff were able to source taxis to take us to our destination and also bring us back to the hotel. Breakfast staff brought their own cooked cakes in for us to enjoy. A real gem of a hotel.

The suite was excellent, very clean, large with a view to the main garden. The staff changed our towels daily and prepared a full breakfast buffet for all tastes. The location is also excellent as it's close to the Terme dei Papi (the hotel also offers a ferry service to and from the springs) and also very close to Viterbo. We used it as a base to explore the region for which it was perfectly located. We would definitely book again.

Viterbo is a small city but full of beautiful places,...

Viterbo is a small city but full of beautiful places, churches to visit. Full of history. Lovely people. The only downside is the transport. It is very difficult to get a taxi. If you have a luggage its difficult to wheeled it along the road/cobble. More signpost is needed for buses and possibly taxi lane.

An interesting town that is somewhat off the well-trodden tourist paths. This might actually be part of its attractiveness. Prices are quite reasonable. Let yourself wander through the Medieval City and enjoy good food and its special atmosphere.

Viterbo is a charming medieval town with impressive history and architecture. At the same time, the old center has a slightly sad feeling, as if it has seen better days. Since the pandemic, some areas appear quieter and less vibrant, creating a subtle atmosphere of decline beneath the city's beauty.

Viterbo is a very old historic city.

Viterbo is a very old historic city. It's not as well known to tourists as other places in Lazio, but it's worth visiting. It gives you access to other historic towns within driving distance. There are some very good restaurants in Viterbo.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion. The history and art is extremely interesting and the ancient city is one you can get lost in, wandering down narrow charming streets, stumbling upon a palazzo from medieval times, or coming upon a breathtaking view. Viterbo is not a curated experience, such as Montalcino or Montepulciano. It is a bit gritty and caters to its community, not tourists. Its Etruscan and medieval era history and art is exceptional if limited. A great stopping off point if heading north from Rome. There are hot springs in the area which we didn't have time to experience.

I have visited Viterbo a number of times and love walking...

I have visited Viterbo a number of times and love walking around the historical centre. I use Viterbo as my base to visit towns and sites nearby as I don't drive, so it is very convenient and well serviced by Cotral bus services to the different places.

88viterbo is excellent accommodation, located in the centre of the old city of Viterbo, close to the cathedral, pope's palace and right next to the atmospheric medieval San Pellegrino area. The rooms have been refurbished within the past 3 years to a very high standard in a modern style. My room was large and featured a sizeable ensuite. My bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. There was absolute no street noise ... I slept really well ... breakfast was good. Alessandro was very helpful - grazie!

The property is quiet, clean, central and very close to Porta Romana rail station. It is conveniently located for restaurants, supermarkets and the centro storico. The host is very accommodating and friendly. Facilities are generally good and the decor is quite rustic - solid wooden roof beams, some brick work decor in keeping with the medieval character of the city. On the whole advantages outweigh disadvantages.

San Pellegrino in Viterbo is 100% medial district, il centro storico, and the fairy tale vibe is everywhere around you. But! You enjoy it with modern comfort - wifi, hot water, coffee machine, home made pastry and yoghurt for breakfast, parking for your SUV nearby, and daily cleaning in the apartment - Stefano, the host, took care about everything! AMAZING JOB! AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

Fantastic small hotel in the centre of beautiful medieval Viterbo. The rooms are spacious, modern, comfortable and spotless and the welcome basket of goodies is a lovely touch. Manuela and her staff are delightful and so helpful and welcoming. There are no breakfast facilities but there are plenty of cafes on the doorstep and I can’t recommend this lovely little hotel enough!
