The location was REALLY good. It is in the center directly. Really easy to go everywhere from the hotel. The receptionist was really nice, kind and helpful person. I asked them recommendations for restaurants and they send them all via WhatsApp. Check in was really easy. View of the room was amazing. Also it was in a maximum cleanness. On the day of my check out, I was feeling sick and needed more time at the room. Receptionist was really kind enough to give me the time I needed, even though another guest was going to come after me.

The Vatican

The world’s smallest state is also one of its most attraction-packed spots. As the centre of the Catholic Church, Vatican City is chock-full of awe-inspiring religious architecture and artistic treasures. Must-sees include the imposing St Peter’s Basilica – so vast that the Statue of Liberty could fit comfortably under its dome – and the mesmerising frescoes of the Sistine Chapel.

The Pope prays the angelus on Sundays at noon. Stand outside on the left of St. Peter's where the columns are and you will see him come out of the window that has a red carpet that they roll down.

After paying $80 for two time-specific tickets, there would have been at least a thousand cued up to enter with thousands already in the complex. It was a "cattle drive" with attendant rushing the mob along. I am a former museum director and this was my worst museum experience. BUT it is the only way to see the Sistine Chapel - also wall-to-wall people.

Reserve tickets especially for the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, be at least 1. hours before your reserved time and have comfortable walking shoes. Do not visit the Basilica on Wednesday and Sunday mornings ( closed )before at least 1pm - unless you want to see the Pope from the balcony at noon. Be ready for very long queues.

If you want to see the Sistine Chapel , just be prepared that you're going to spend four times as much time getting there parading through the Vatican museum , which has all sorts of stuff that I didn't necessarily associate with the Vatican.

You pay hefty amount to get treated like cattle.

You pay hefty amount to get treated like cattle. You can barely walk inside the museum as there are 1000s of people in the same room as you. In case of an emergency, you will probably be injured, or even worse. Its only about the Vatican making money.

Wonderful stay at AngelicaHome Roma. The apartment was spotless, spacious, and bright, making it feel comfortable and welcoming. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the Vatican and just around the corner of Ottaviano Metro, which made getting around Rome incredibly easy. Super handy that they offered to store our bags after the check-out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, well-located, and relaxing place to stay in Rome.

Excellent location in Prati, very close to the Vatican and well connected to the rest of Rome. The apartment was clean and comfortable and met everything we needed for our stay. The shared kitchen is large and very well equipped, which was a big plus. The building is old, but that’s part of the Roman experience and perfectly acceptable for the area. The host was outstanding — very attentive, checking in daily to see if we needed anything and always helpful.

Exceptional apartment in a perfect location. The apartment is large, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The location is ideal — just a few minutes’ walk from the Vatican. The owner is incredibly kind, helpful, and truly cares about her guests, which makes the stay even better. This is the best apartment I have stayed in so far in Rome. Highly recommended!

This apartment was one of the best we have ever stayed in all over Europe. The location couldn't have been better. Everything within walking distance in the historic centre. You could easily walk to the Vatican, Trastevere, and of course, all the well-known landmarks of Rome. Around the apartment, bakeries and cafes were you can have breakfast or brunch. The host super helpful and whatever we wanted, he provided. Definitely worth it.

The hotel is perfectly situated, close to the Vatican City, between St.Peter's Basilica and Castel Sant'Angelo, That's what makes this place unique, as you can enjoy absolutely stunning circular view of this part of Rome, from the terrace in the last floor. Rooms are comfortable and neat. Stuff is very helpful. We will certainly repeat this experience!

It looked very nice and we definitely had enough space. We liked the style of the apartment, the sofa bed in the living room was comfortable too. It’s arranged a bit differently than on the pictures but still practical and nice (table is closer to the door). We know Rome and come back often and the location was good for us , as Prati is close to the Vatican and a much calmer place than the other side of the river.

Great accommodation for a weekend trip to Rome. The apartment is located at walking distance to the Vatican, other parts of the city are easily accessible with the bus. check out the hotels for your ideal location, you get very good value for money from smaller hotels/ bed and breakfast/ guest houses etc. Use the hop on hop off buses, buy tickets to the main tourist attractions in advance, unless you like to wait in line a lot! Vatican is manic, I went in March and it was starting to get busy, I can imagine it would be very hot and uncomfortable in the height of the season.

If you take the time to go through the streets north of the Vatican you can find many small stores where the locals shop. As well as the popular brands and designer labels these streets are full of market stalls with lots of bargains and lovely small deli's and cafes that sell many wonderful local goodies. Great restaurants in this area too, well worth spending a few hours of the day finding a treasure or two.

Get a 48-hour pass on one of the "hop on, hop off" sightseeing bus services. Many of them also offer "skip the line" tickets for certain sights. These tickets are worth every cent. There are tourists waiting in long lines everywhere, which will waste a lot of your time and energy. Rome is an intense tourist destination with much to see. Plan well, do research and be prepared to spend extra on special services. You will need at least 5 days to a week to truly see most of the major landmarks. Just the Vatican Museum offers so much that you could easily spend 3 days inside and still not truly see most of it.

As it's Rome there will always be tourists everywhere but DO NOT go with any tour group guaranteeing to skip lines, the queues are never as bad as they look. We were told a "5 hour queue for Vatican and the Sistine chapel" but if we joined a tour we can go straight in...for a €50 fee. We opted out and queued and were in and out of the Vatican, Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel within 2.5 hours all for a quarter of the price (student and EU citizen discounts). The same goes for the colosseum. Go at your own pace and avoid the scammers. The hotel had basic tourist maps which were perfect and we easily found our way. But we did find there were always less people between 12-1 as they had gone to find food by then.

The Colisseum and the Vatican are probably the main attractions, but there are dozens of monuments, museums, gallaries, fountains and churches that all offer a piece of ancient or modern history. Even the roads and walls and buildings seem to tell a story about one of the most preserved ancient cities in the world.
