The hotel is a bit off the beaten track but we were happy to find it as we were on a cycling tour and there were not many alternatives nearby. It is basically a restaurant with a few rooms attached. The restaurant is really great with many seafood options. Rooms are new, spacious and very clean

Everything was perfect! Both room and bathroom were clean and the mattress was very comfortable! Staff was physically absent, but they sent very clear instructions on how to check in, plus they were always available on WhatsApp, giving us great tips on where to park the car too!

The size of the room and the bathroom was very good and everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was large and comfortable and it was quiet at night. The staff were friendly and helpful and they let me store my bicyle in a container next to the hotel. Last but not least, the breakfast was excellent. This hotel had definitely the best value for the money of all hotels in Italy I stayed at! Would have extended my stay for one or two days as the town turned out quite nice for cycling and there's even a coin laundry down the road, but unfortunately, they were already fully booked.

If you like sightseeing there are plenty of places to visit - Castle, Museums, Fine Houses, Gardens and most of it is within walking distance but there is a tourist 'train' if you don't like to walk. There are many restaurants to choose from and all our food was excellent or very good.

Most people it seems visit for a single day.

Most people it seems visit for a single day. We stayed two nights ... partly because of the bus schedule from/to Ravenna, but it was perfect for a relaxed-pace visit. The archaeological museum is a must-visit. If we had one or two more days, we might have done a tour to the Po Delta, and also a quick visit to Porto Garibaldi. Excellent fresh seafood.

Not a clean water- it was like a pond water- but it is probably problem of the whole seashore in north part of Italy. Beach was clean, lot of sea shells. Bars with reasonable prices. DeSpar supermarket in the center if Lido. In the evening the city is very live, there is a amusment fair open every evening with carousells and other atractions on the colonade.

Ferrara is a nice, contained little town with a very relaxed atmosphere. There were virtually no foreign tourists, at least not in groups. Most of the residents seem to bicycle everywhere, so there's not much traffic. There's plenty to see, and it can easily be done on foot.

Nice region as we wanted to visit seaside after 2 years of not travelling. It is good for planning a trips in nice cities around by car, like Venice, Bologna, Modena, Firenze, etc. and still be close to the sea. Also not far from north borders (approx. 3 hours drive).

Ferrara is somewhat more monumental than many other cities in Emilia-Romagna and there is a lot to see, especially for people interested in Renaissance but I also found it less cosy and somewhat more messy than most of the region.

A beautiful, sleepy town with a Venice-like atmosphere.

A beautiful, sleepy town with a Venice-like atmosphere. There are canals and lovely bridges in the city centre. The largest bridge, Trepponti, was absolutely stunning. The centre is best explored by foot. There are restaurants and bars everywhere, mostly with outdoor sitting, sometimes directly on the canals. We were there in the evening and it felt magical.

The best was the food.

The best was the food. Delicious pizza in Pumaro pizzeria opens at 18:30, amazing ice cream in local gelateria plus best coffee I have ever had. Although people don't speak English they are very ok with our rusty Italian. The beach suffers from extreme pollution by plastic. It is a pitty because the Great Cormorants are all over the coast and they and the environment suffer greatly. Although the trash bins are everywhere along the beach, people seem to not mind at all. They sit in the trash. Swim in the trash. And this is not the fault of the tourists because they were none. Just us. As a marine biologist I doubt that the quality of the water is good at all and the sewage system should be checked. We found some beach much farther from the centre and it was much better. Important warning, be careful because the jellyfishes are overpopulated in Adriatic sea. There are great hikes through the pine forests, amazing birding locations like Delta Po, salt marshes and lakes.
