The property is very neat and clean. The owner, Sylvia and one of the staff, Joanna are very kind and helpful people. I got a fever the next day when I arrived. They took care of me and my daughter until my husband came after. I was still sick a few days later, so both Sylvia and Joanna called the ambulance for me. Joanna drove my husband to the ER since family was unable to ride in the ambulance with the patient. Joanna also helped us in the hospital a lot, explaining everything to the doctor and the nurse in Italian. When my husband needed to go to the hospital to visit me, both Sylvia and Joanna took care of my daughter while she was alone. Joanna cooked very delicious and healthy food for my daughter. I recovered a few days later and we continued our trip to other Italian cities, but we will forever remember this place and the two very wonderful people, Sylvia and Joanna! Thanks a lot!

If youre looking for a true Italian experience, look no further. This villa is exceptional. The main house is extraordinary as it is like walking into a renaissance dream, filled with local antiques and paintings, groomed trees and a beautiful fountain at the front. Our room was gorgous - from the big bed head, to the classic furniture, the modern marble bathroom, and the heavy curtains - I loved everything about it. The host is lovely, very personable and friendly, full of advice on how to spend the day, what are the must-sees of the area, and excellent restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was delicious - a selection of meats and cheeses, dips, eggs, fresh baked goods and breads, yoghurts, musli and fruit. Very satisfying. This gorgeous place is a must for that true old Italian vibe. We highly recommend staying here.

Never experienced hospitality like this before! The hosts were incredible, offering great advice on things to do and even organizing aperitivo and pizza evenings with local products, it was truly unforgettable. The apartment was spotless and the location even more beautiful than in the photos. Highly recommended!

Barga is quiet, not heaving with tourists, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.it’s a lovely hill top town. We did a couple of their recommended walks…not easy walking. Tourist info office not open Monday through Wednesday, try the travel agency accross the road from The Alpino. Take the bus to Barga from Lucca, as Barga is on a hill and the station is in the valley, a few kilometres away, can’t guarantee taxi either.

Lovely perched north Tuscany village, a bit off the beaten track, with very kind locals and stunning countryside. Lively community, pretty churches and a lot of things to do. Mountain biking, kids can play in the nearby river, hiking, exploring ancient villages. And, just half an hour from Lucca and 1,5 hour to the seaside.

terrible wifi, no mobile signal, outdoor seating just a plastic table with no view, hotel size fridge does not freeze, small shower, dangerous and long access mountain road, far from everywhere, poor equipment, price does not match the quality. The worse holiday ever.

Castelnouvo is a beautiful town. It has lots of Bars. Restaurants. Gelaterias. In the holiday month of August it usually has entertainment. Plus every Thursday morning has a typical Italian Market. It's a perfect base to explore the Garfagniana region of Tuscany. Absolutely love it. A must see town.

Simple location fo get some quiet, views and be on your own. The Castle is cool to visit, we had. Nice dinner there and enjoyed the lights at night. We ate at the little restaurant near the tower but on the other side of the square. Very friendly but don’t speak English at all. They are happy to make communication successful though. Getting there and going anywhere from there is a curvy, long drive. Not a place to stay if your plans are to go to the Cinque Terre or other further spots.

The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day. Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.

It is a beautiful mountain village with cobble stone streets and a feeling of tranquility, happiness, while enjoying the nature and elegance of the beautiful stone houses. One of the things we also loved was that the people in Coreglia Anteminelli are very friendly and welcoming.

The long drive up the winding mountain road to Scillio is a paltry sum to pay for the treasure that awaits those willing to wander up. The beauty and authenticity of this small hill town is enough to make a grown man openly weep. The care that the residents of this small community have lavished on this meticulously maintained community of stone buildings is evident in every house, alleyway, doorway, garden, window, and terrace. The remarkable condition of the town as a whole allows one to focus on the beauty and elegance of the rustic details when you are not mesmerized by the breathtaking views. Only one restaurant, and very little English spoken. Breakfast was amazing.

The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful. We would love to come back. We came on a Monday and several restaurants were closed because it was in the beginning of October. It will be nice to be in the town, when all places are open.
