I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic experience. The breakfast here is absolutely delicious, and what sets it apart is the unique free à la carte menu, which I haven't seen offered at any other hotel before. The location is excellent - it's very central yet surprisingly quiet, with the city center just a short walk away. The added bonus of a free parking garage is a big plus. The rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Moreover, the front desk team is incredibly friendly and always ready to assist you. Overall, it's an outstanding choice for a memorable stay.

A very nice hotel in the middle of the green. The room was very nice and comfortable with a SPA bath. We truly enjoyed the swimming pools and SPA with a lot of quiet place to lie down enjoy the tranquility of the garden and the sun. The restaurant, breakfast and afternoon tees with a nice cake were great. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Starting from Federica and Nicola, many thanks to all. The hotel is quite close to the river. It takes around 10 mins to walk on the side of the river until to the town centre.

The breakfast was gorgeous, really an amazing spread of fresh and local ingredients, and dried fruits and müesli, and a juicer, and an omelette and crepe chef -4 kinds of butter. Really amazing! Warm reception and friendly staff. The dinners were also great - as parents to 2 kids, we usually go for simple restaurants with kid-pleasing fare - but the dinner menu was truly fabulous, gourmet chef style, amazing choices where everyone could find something delicious and to their tastes, and a wonderful salad and appetizer buffet to accompany the dinner menu. And the kids had nice simpler options as well, and then could go downstairs to the playroom and let us enjoy the rest of our courses. The family room with a special kid bedroom was just what we needed, and the balconies were my favorite - unbelievable views. The pools and saunas were also wonderful - easily accessible even by elevator, great for my parents who were with us - the indoor pool is not huge but was just right for us to play and swim a bit with the kids, and even in October we could swim in the heated pool outdoors. (One is heated, one is not). I loved the gym - always makes vacation feel a little better when I can get a few workouts in. I didn't make it to the yoga hour, will have to save that for next time! Thank you guys for a lovely stay, our first time in South Tyrol and we will definitely be back!!

The stay at the hotel was extremely pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful, the forest spa was excellent, food was great, the room was large, the view from the terrace was wonderful. The ski area right next to the hotel, ski in - ski out and also the ski storage room is excellent. We loved all the facilities - the heated indoor pool, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi and what a view from the pool and jacuzzi. There's a sauna, big warm relaxation room looking at the mountains opposite. Very nice selection for breakfast and the afternoon tea that's served between 2pm-6pm is excellent too. Sweet and savoury offerings. We enjoyed the dinner selections too. 4 courses including the salad starter which had a huge selection.

The view over Merano is breathtaking. We loved sitting on our balcony and taking it in. We loved the walk down and back to Merano, keeps you fit, and that you could access the scenic paths directly from the hotel. It was also great to have parking. The room was lovely and clean and the breakfast was great with lots of home cured meats and cheeses. The staff were very friendly.

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine.

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.

A lovely little place with great amenities and activities...

A lovely little place with great amenities and activities for all. It is best known for it's hiking/walking paths, but it is also a bit of a mecca for cyclists. It caters for all levels so is great for all. You can go hang-gliding, horse riding, rafting. There is something for everyone.

I found a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Avelengo's serene surroundings and tranquility provided the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Schenna is a beautiful town high on the mountainside above...

Schenna is a beautiful town high on the mountainside above Meran. The views over Meran and the valley to mountains and the Alps are stunning. The town has restaurants, a cafe and bars. In summer, you can begin hiking from town or drive further up the mountain to beautiful trails of every level of difficulty. In winter, you can take the cable car to the ski resort of Meran 2000.

A very pretty, friendly, place with excellent restaurants serving delicious food and wine. Although I was there on business, the fresh air, mountain views and scenic town made it an excellent, relaxing experience. I'd have stayed a day longer had I known!

The village is small but well equipped with all the amenities. It's also within a 30-45 minute walk to Merano, either via the higher pathway (i.e. the Algunder Waalweg) or via lower streets. On Friday mornings there is an organic vegetable market in the side street close to the EuroSpar grocery store that sells delicious local produce.

5 days in avalegno would have been enough but we had 2 of those days travelling. So recommended time is 5 - 7 days for people like us who do not like to Jam Pack their days. Its is beautifully scenic and well maintained. Take note that the botanic gardens are closed in winter. Aditionally whilst places advertise the availability of renting all ski gear, no one rents snow shoes, pants or jackets, so plan to bring your own so as not to miss out on the fun.

Nice small village near Merano with plenty opportunities for...

Nice small village near Merano with plenty opportunities for walking and proximity to Merano attractions. We visited during off-season, so most of attractions and restaurants were closed, but we had many Christmas activities in Alto Adige, even Schenna had tiny market.
