I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic experience. The breakfast here is absolutely delicious, and what sets it apart is the unique free à la carte menu, which I haven't seen offered at any other hotel before. The location is excellent - it's very central yet surprisingly quiet, with the city center just a short walk away. The added bonus of a free parking garage is a big plus. The rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Moreover, the front desk team is incredibly friendly and always ready to assist you. Overall, it's an outstanding choice for a memorable stay.

Great location, very central and within walking distance to all places of interest. A good selection of sweet and savoury food on the breakfast buffet, the eggs made to order were delicious. The room was well furnished and very clean, we were offered a free upgrade which was much appreciated. Stylish bathroom with a great shower and lovely soft bathrobes.

We loved all the facilities - the heated indoor pool, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi and what a view from the pool and jacuzzi. There's a sauna, big warm relaxation room looking at the mountains opposite. Very nice selection for breakfast and the afternoon tea that's served between 2pm-6pm is excellent too. Sweet and savoury offerings. We enjoyed the dinner selections too. 4 courses including the salad starter which had a huge selection.

Hotel Aurora exceeded our expectations! It is located right in front of the Meran Terme, about 10 mins walk from the train station. There are lots of shops, bars and restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel is elegant and timeless. Our room was spacious with a beautiful terrace and garden. The dining room is very nice and the breakfast buffet was amazing...loads of choices. The staff were very friendly, went above and beyond in providing our needs. They even prepared a surprise birthday cake, 2 glasses of champagne and a hand written card for my sister-in-law's birthday. We had a very wonderful experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough!!! Thank you everyone at Hotel Aurora for making our ordnary vacation become an extraordinary one! We would love to come back again!

The hotel's location and facilities are really great. The hotel has a huge and excellent spa area with a few heated swimming pools. The facility is wonderfully green and offers amazing mountain views. Upon arrival, you receive nice welcome drinks and an introduction to the hotel. There are plenty of hiking routes to keep you entertained during your stay, and the hotel offers various activities for guests to join.

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.

I found a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Avelengo's serene surroundings and tranquility provided the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. The calming atmosphere, coupled with the breathtaking views, made it an ideal destination to unwind and escape from the noise of the city.

A lovely little place with great amenities and activities...

A lovely little place with great amenities and activities for all. It is best known for it's hiking/walking paths, but it is also a bit of a mecca for cyclists. It caters for all levels so is great for all. You can go hang-gliding, horse riding, rafting. There is something for everyone.

Schenna is a beautiful town high on the mountainside above Meran. The views over Meran and the valley to mountains and the Alps are stunning. The town has restaurants, a cafe and bars. In summer, you can begin hiking from town or drive further up the mountain to beautiful trails of every level of difficulty. In winter, you can take the cable car to the ski resort of Meran 2000.

(Not so) small village close to Merano with beautiful mountains around and less tourists. Great for a short stay. A few restaurants and caffes in the center (too bad most were closed for holiday at the time that we were there). Small ski station, some beautiful winter paths reachable with a funivia, depends on how much you'd like to walk. Merano (and other cities) are easily reachable by car or public transports.

5 days in avalegno would have been enough but we had 2 of those days travelling. So recommended time is 5 - 7 days for people like us who do not like to Jam Pack their days. Its is beautifully scenic and well maintained. Take note that the botanic gardens are closed in winter. Aditionally whilst places advertise the availability of renting all ski gear, no one rents snow shoes, pants or jackets, so plan to bring your own so as not to miss out on the fun.

The village is small but well equipped with all the amenities. It's also within a 30-45 minute walk to Merano, either via the higher pathway (i.e. the Algunder Waalweg) or via lower streets. On Friday mornings there is an organic vegetable market in the side street close to the EuroSpar grocery store that sells delicious local produce.
