Where do i start. From arriving you know this a very well run hotel, the staff are welcoming, not formal but polite and friendly, always with a smile. The decor is elegant with a welcoming feeling. When you arrive in your room be prepared to gasp, as our room was breathtaking , the view from the balcony looked onto a well maintained rose garden with mountainous views looking across Merano. Now the food. Breakfast was served on the rooftop. Within a large glass room filled with amazing plants. You have a buffet style breakfast with a selection of breads, fruits, yoghurts and many other healthy options. There is also a chef on hand to cook you almost anything you want for breakfast, i opted for an omelette which was outstanding. There is an afternoon snack with cakes, fruits and ice cream. The evening dinner was in the basement of the hotel. A wonderful relaxing room with tables well spread out. From the menu each and every dish was presented in your michelin star decor. Everything is cooked to perfection and complimented with everything on your plate. We also experienced chef Claudios special menu with the wine pairing, this is a must. His dishes have you in anticipation for your next dish and it just seems to have your pallet craving for more. My favourite dish from my whole stay was the sour ice cream.. no it wasnt a spelling mistake.. this is an actual thing and it is amazing. My mouth is now watering while i type. Chef Claudio and his wife Monica are such a lovely welcoming couple who have created maybe the best hotel i have stayed at. Everything from the gardens, the staff, the room maids, the spa, the restaurants and the food is all a 10/10 from me.. I hope to return again soon. An experience you want to re live.

Great location, very central and within walking distance to all places of interest. A good selection of sweet and savoury food on the breakfast buffet, the eggs made to order were delicious. The room was well furnished and very clean, we were offered a free upgrade which was much appreciated. Stylish bathroom with a great shower and lovely soft bathrobes.

We loved all the facilities - the heated indoor pool, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi and what a view from the pool and jacuzzi. There's a sauna, big warm relaxation room looking at the mountains opposite. Very nice selection for breakfast and the afternoon tea that's served between 2pm-6pm is excellent too. Sweet and savoury offerings. We enjoyed the dinner selections too. 4 courses including the salad starter which had a huge selection.

A beautiful building in a quiet area at the top of the hill, but not too far from town and very accessible. Family owned, the mother is still working and the daughter looks after reception and makes you feel very welcome. The dining experience was sublime, from the very high end and immaculate setting, to excellent food (four or five changing courses with two main course options). The desert are in a served buffet area and it felt very quaint and you could have lots of small amounts if you wished. Breakfast buffet superb. A kind of new 'old fashioned standards' hotel, but in a very good way. Merano is beautiful and if I return with my wife I'd stay here again and also eat there too. Salad then soup then a divine souflee then main then deserts, all for set price of 25 euro and in a beautiful restaurant with excellent staff and personal touches from the owners. It was superb. I loved it.

The view over Merano is breathtaking. We loved sitting on our balcony and taking it in. We loved the walk down and back to Merano, keeps you fit, and that you could access the scenic paths directly from the hotel. It was also great to have parking. The room was lovely and clean and the breakfast was great with lots of home cured meats and cheeses. The staff were very friendly.

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine.

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.

Schenna is a beautiful town high on the mountainside above Meran. The views over Meran and the valley to mountains and the Alps are stunning. The town has restaurants, a cafe and bars. In summer, you can begin hiking from town or drive further up the mountain to beautiful trails of every level of difficulty. In winter, you can take the cable car to the ski resort of Meran 2000.

A lovely little place with great amenities and activities...

A lovely little place with great amenities and activities for all. It is best known for it's hiking/walking paths, but it is also a bit of a mecca for cyclists. It caters for all levels so is great for all. You can go hang-gliding, horse riding, rafting. There is something for everyone.

A very pretty, friendly, place with excellent restaurants serving delicious food and wine. Although I was there on business, the fresh air, mountain views and scenic town made it an excellent, relaxing experience. I'd have stayed a day longer had I known!

I found a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Avelengo's serene surroundings and tranquility provided the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. The calming atmosphere, coupled with the breathtaking views, made it an ideal destination to unwind and escape from the noise of the city.

Nice small village near Merano with plenty opportunities for walking and proximity to Merano attractions. We visited during off-season, so most of attractions and restaurants were closed, but we had many Christmas activities in Alto Adige, even Schenna had tiny market.

The village is small but well equipped with all the amenities. It's also within a 30-45 minute walk to Merano, either via the higher pathway (i.e. the Algunder Waalweg) or via lower streets. On Friday mornings there is an organic vegetable market in the side street close to the EuroSpar grocery store that sells delicious local produce.
