If you don't feel like climbing, the view from the room is worth every cent you pay for staying there! Treviso is a lovely city, especially the City Centre within the old walls. The Saturday and Thursday market is fabulous! Restaurants are excellent - Da Roberto on Viale Cadorna superb family run with bakery next door.

We actually stayed in a small town "down the road" from Valdobbiadine proper. We like the small town atmosphere and shy away from big, fancy hotels in favor of B&Bs. Vineyards and chestnut trees could be seen from our windows. Trips to wineries for tasting facilitated by our hosts who were so gracious and helped us feel we were part of a real Italian experience. Best restaurant we ate at was Al Caminetto in Fovia, 5 minutes from Combai where we were staying. Great wine tasting experience at Nani Rizzi & Ruggeri wineries. We missed the chestnut festival which takes place in early October but hope to remedy that on our next trip!

Conegliano is a great place to stay for a real experience of the Veneto. A short walk gives you a great feel for the old town, and a climb to the castle gives you great views of the Prosecco hills. There is a great Friday street market, also a lovely butchers in the main street. About a 15-minute walk takes you the the wine-making school, where you can pick up a bottle or two of their excellent Prosecco Superiore Brut, and also some tasty local red and white wines. Very easy train ride to Venice, you could also change at Venezia Maestre for Verona and Padova. A perfect base for exploring the Veneto!

It is a gateway to a fantastic part of the region.

It is a gateway to a fantastic part of the region. You could probably stay there for a month and not eat every dish the local cafes' and eateries have available. And that's just in Piazza Giorgione. For fashion shopping you would be hard to find better and if you're budget minded there is the weekly market on Tuesdays, which is not to be missed.

A beautiful and romantic town.

A beautiful and romantic town. It's clean and makes you feel calm. The citizens are helpful and kind. I visited the Canele dei Buranelli and Plazza dei Signori. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and cafes. I ate a delicious gelato in gelateria la Romana and I also ate the most delicious crepe there ever!! I will visit this place soon!!!

A bit of a mixed area. The town looks a little run down in places, but there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants here. There are lots of options for parking too. We found a nice cafe, just opposite the main square and visited here on 3 occasions during our stay. Prices were relatively cheap for lunchtime snacks/meals and drinks. The premises was clean and it had a nice seating area outside. Staff were really helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal at V restaurant (situated in Hotel Diane), which was great. Prices were reasonable, service was fantastic and location was nice. We sat outside and couldn't have asked for more. We used the local supermarket, Conard, which had a huge variety of products and everything for your day to day needs. There was also a Lidl here, but we didn't go there on this occasion. There were also a good selection of what looked to be very nice pizzerias and wine bars, in addition to some nice homeware shops and prosecco/wine shops. The church on the square is definitely worth a visit, too. We would definitely return, as there was nothing to really dislike about the area.

It's a place where I can unwind, immerse myself in the local culture, and create unforgettable memories. I can't wait to return to this enchanting town and experience its wonders once again. I would recommend ALWAYS having cash with you and buying bus tickets from the TABACCHI, paying on the bus is 4 euros for the normal bus ride, and getting the same ticket from TABACCHI is 2 euros, maybe somewhere even less. They don't accept card payments.

The mountains, the vineyards, the surrounding beauty of the...

The mountains, the vineyards, the surrounding beauty of the countryside all around was spectacular! A must is to tour the via del Proseco - the cafes and small restaurants along the way were amazing - the menu's were all unique and did not disappoint with local specialties. We took the train from Venice to Vittorio Veneto - took less than an hour. Twelve Euros for the ticket. The train was very comfortable, clean and FAST! There is a bus route that you can take through Vittorio Veneto. A must is to visit the 'old' ancient section of the city (of note is the importance of the historical significance of Vittorio Veneto during WWI) and then to the newer, modern areas surrounded by vineyards.
