A very good example of the "you get what you pay for". Albeit pricey, this hotel is outstanding. I've never had a more beautiful view in all the hotels I've stayed in. The rooms are elegant and with good taste. You can see they are a little bit worn out from the years of use, but they are well maintained and cleaned. Getting a room with the sea view is a must. Just be careful not to chose one on the ground floor because those don't have such a good view and they lack privacy (the balconies are in the shared garden). The staff is friendly and very professional. Parking is generous. They have spaces for your car both along the road as well as inside the premises. The breakfast selection was limited but very delicious. By the third day it becomes repetitive, but it is so well made that you will feel full a big part of the day. The hotel's restaurant is lovely, but do keep in mind that its menu mostly consists of fish options. Our room was also very silent and we weren't disturbed by any neighbours.

Althought this camp is big it still feels cozy and not full of people (we traveled in June so it might be because of the start of the season). Still, sitting outside on the terrace you feel quite some privacy. The staff was very welcoming and kind both during check-in and check-out. The mobile home itself is equipped with utenstils, plates etc.

Property is located at the city center, but is easily accessible by car and the public parking is available just around the corner. Staff is really pleasant and helpful, feel free to ask for advice on best local places to eat or have a drink. Rooms are really clean and bed comfortable. The location, at the waterfront and on a stunningly beautiful square is exceptional. The staff were superb. We couldn't get a table in the Michelin Star restaurant and so ate in the Bistro. This is the third time I’ve been to Trieste.

This is the third time I’ve been to Trieste. It’s a very pleasant place with lots to do. I enjoyed the art galleries and the literary museum celebrating Joyce and Svevo. The gallery holding a very impressive collection of Tiepolo drawings is a must if you’re interested in the idiom of drawing. The gallery of East Asian art is quite small but of very high quality. It’s also very enjoyable to just walk along the waterfront. The general ambiance of the city is very pleasant.

Muggia is a small coastal town near Trieste...and it is a very happening town that comes alive at night...where families come together at the central square for ice creams and some good food...I really liked the entire vibe of this town it's very clean and quiet and extremely relaxing...the restaurant has fresh seafood options if you're into seafood and amazing wines and a really good seafront to walk around. i really liked it...calm and relaxing place.

There is no modern bakery or coffee house in the entire village. We felt that a bit of progress or a more modern atmosphere was missing—perhaps a case of resting on one’s laurels. However, we really enjoyed the nearby fish restaurant, where the staff was very welcoming.

I wish we had more time to explore the area. We found a cute part of town with an amazing restaurant. We plan on going back to Trieste next year and would stay there again. The only issue we had with the unit was the area is a little run down, and the TV is very old and will not support streaming. Other than that it was perfect for our needs.

This is my second trip to Trieste.

This is my second trip to Trieste. Last year I spent a week here and this time I will be here for two weeks. The people are friendly and helpful even though I can only speak a few words of Italian. The local food, which can be Austrian or Italian, is always good and the desserts and pastries are divine. There are lots of things to see and do in Trieste and you can always visit Venice which is only a two hour train away. I like the cafe culture with Cafe San Marco being one of my favorites. I have also enjoyed taking the ferry ride to Muggì and hiking the Napoleon trail.

We liked Muggia.

We liked Muggia. It is small and easy to navigate the old town. The main Piazza has several bars and cafes, friendly and welcoming for a drink or a meal, and fun for people watching. There are more cafes and bars towards the waterfront. Just stroll around and enjoy the relative tranquility. We arrived in Trieste by train, taxi to Muggia was around 35 euros. We took a day trip back to Trieste by ferry (fun in itself), and did lots of walking from Muggia. It's a nice respite from the tourist circuit, and so pretty with stone buildings and small alleyways, plus the castle (exterior) and Duomo to enjoy. Muggia Vecchio, up on the hill behind, was well worth the walk.

The village itself has not much to offer (in terms of sightseeing), but for me as a base for exploring the karst by bike it was perfect. There are also some restaurants, cafes and pubs - so it is not necessary to drive down to Triest every time. But if necessary, there is a good connection by bus.

Having worked over here for almost a year, I can say that Trieste is one of the most welcoming cities to visit. They are setup well for tourists because of the number of cruise ships that visit during the warmer months. Mostly everyone speaks English, and are used to dealing with foreign visitors. The locals love to eat and drink outside, there are so many bars and restaurants to visit and enjoy the local fare. I highly recommend the restaurant "Magna" and the bar next door "Mast". Magna serves some of the best food in the region, from pasta to giant steaks, Luca the sommelier will guide you to the best wine choices to match your platter and tastes. Can be chilly in the winter months, so bring a warm coat, hat and scarf, as along with the locals, you'll still be able to sit outside and eat/drink. The summer can be extremely warm, getting into the 40s at times, so again be prepared; a cool Aperol Spritz will keep you cool!
