A hidden gem in all of Hakone. We were welcomed by a modern adaptation of a traditional Japanese home. The hotel felt more like a home than a hotel facility, and all the automation around the bathrooms and lighting made everything ease in much easily. For us, everything was as clean as it gets. Spare towels were also provided, but the property is keen to help whenever needed. The balcony and garden made us enjoy early morning coffees and late night snacks in peace and silence. The double beds act more like one, and they are as comfortable as it gets. All of the appliances, from AC to the automated bathtub work perfectly, and the provided washing machine can come in handy. The neighborhood was very silent, as it is close to the end of the region. Being further away from the main areas is not a problem, as the famous Venetian Glass Museum ca be reached by foot in 20 minutes and there are plenty of bus connections available. Finally, the hotel provided numerous restaurant options nearby and the ones we tried were really great! The place is a must stay for couples, and we are looking forward to coming back to it in the future.

Beautiful hotel, conveniently located next to the bus stop. The room was very spacious and the private onsen an true highlight. Staff was super friendly and helpful - we forgot our earphones and they sent it to our next hotel immediately.

Relaxing place, interesting way to travel on the train - windy day limited the ropeway use. Not so many restaurants and most are a little pricey and tourist traps - wouldn't really recommend any. Highlight of the trip by far was Hakone Open-Air (sculpture) Museum. I would travel here just for this alone. The view of Fuji from the side of the road travelling down the hill to Lake Ashinoko in photo.

Great view, very clean and comfortable rooms.

Great view, very clean and comfortable rooms. The rooms are traditional Japanese-style rooms, which really allow you to experience the authentic atmosphere of Japan. We didn't have a shower in our room, but there was an onsen with shower facilities available. The onsen is separated for men and women, which makes it very convenient, and we never encountered anyone else while using it. The staff was extremely helpful: they picked us up from the bus stop and drove us to the station whenever needed so that we could explore the area. They also took us to a restaurant and a convenience store every evening. We really appreciated their hospitality and kindness.

The place is definitely worth visiting but don't necessarily...

The place is definitely worth visiting but don't necessarily need to stay there over the night. It's a little too far away from Hakone and everything closes early in the evening. Better stay in Hakone-Yumoto and take sightseeing train in and out of the area everyday.

Plan your day so that you don't miss the pirate ship (which departs every 45 minutes or so) and allow enough time to enjoy activities such as the Open Air Museum (a lot of fun, we could have spent another hour there if not rushing for the bus to get back before dark). The geomuseum at Odawara was really worthwhile - make sure to visit to appreciate the hot springs even more.
