The property is perfect location just beside the crystal water river side and the owner created the beautiful white sand beach that really good idea for people enjoying the beach in the mountains 🏔️. Furthermore the design of artwork done by owner David and his wife created warming and welcoming home. Particularly the foods and rooms very good value for visitors. I’m strongly recommended!

Highly recommend this guest house, it is in a very small town with no restaurants so we got dinner and breakfast and it was incredibly tasty. One of the best meals we had in Japan.

Clean and modern rooms. Good size for people with big luggage. Convenient parking right next to the hotel. Complimentary breakfast was superb. Wonderful spread of food that was different each day. Free use of the working spade with beverages provided. Really helpful and kind staff.

Love the size of the rooms. We could open two mid size luggages. Room comes with a little balcony, lovely to sit and enjoy the view of the dam. There is also a wash basin in the room. Very practical. Shared bath is also being scrubbed daily. Staff are kind and helpful. Thank you reception staff for receiving us so late and providing late dinner, we didn’t expect it but it was very kind of him. Thank you.

The hotel offers perfect services, the staff is very nice and helpful, parking at the hotel is very convenient. The hotel has an excellent location with an amazing view of Dogo Onsen. It also has private elevator access to the main shopping district. The room was super clean and wonderfully designed. Everything was thought out to the last detail and had a very luxurious feel, from the balcony there is a great view of Dogo Onsen and all of Matsuyama with the castle and mountains in the distance. As part of the accommodation, you can visit the onsen on the top floor with an amazing view, or you can book a private onsen. We used this option and highly recommend it, everything was prepared, perfectly clean, an amazing experience. The rooms have a selection of traditional home clothes, including shoes, sorted by size. Live piano evenings in the hall are also a bonus. The stay at the hotel was perfect, both due to the professional approach of the staff and the great atmosphere. If you want to have a great experience of your stay in Matsuyama, definitely stay at this hotel. Thank you Katerina a Tobias

Firstly we arrived on bicycles and at a lot of places you're treated like a leper but here we were shown a safe secure spot to park our bikes just outside reception. Although it was a remote location and minimalistic stay, we really enjoyed the stay and would put it as one of our favourites in Japan. The privacy and Nature are unmatched, and the onsen/ gym facilities are an added bonus that most of the cheaper range hotels don’t have. 10/10 would recommend

This was a true, bonafide, traditional Japanese ryokan experience! There is so much history that it justifies the facilities being older. The whole experience was wonderful, especially the kind and excellent staff.

Perfect size city , all the mod cons without the mad cap rat...

Perfect size city , all the mod cons without the mad cap rat race of Tokyo or Osaka. Excellent amount of restaurants and food outlets with a great food hall at the bottom of the main shopping area. Close to the ocean and mountains with out door pursuits like hiking and white water rafting a short train ride up the valley .

It was a fantastic lovely and cosy and traditional japanese accomodation. I recommend it for everybody! Its surrounded by the beautiful Shimantoriver for walks, biketours and swimming in the summer. The host is so friendly and helpful. Just go there and see!

We were there for two days, which felt a bit short.

We were there for two days, which felt a bit short. The castle is a must-see, if only for the view from the top, of the city with mountains in the background. The Sunday Market is also a must, if you're there on the weekend. The small Science Museum near the castle was fun and very hands on, mainly for kids but also a nice detour for adults. We also found a Back to the Future DeLorean in the Automobile Museum, which was a nice surprise. Katsuo (bonito) is famous in Kochi, it's flame cooked a little on the outside but still raw on the inside and pretty tasty.

Kochi is a good place to walk around.

Kochi is a good place to walk around. I didn't have that much time there, but I could walk on the main shopping street, talk to very friendly locals, see nice buldings like shrines and the castle.
