Beautiful room with lovely views. Wonderful to stay on the island overnight and experience the woods, torii gates and walks late at night and n the morning. Fantastic breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend booking dinner and breakfast. Gorgeous views. Lots of snacks in the hotel lobby, relaxing places to wait for checkin and out. Walk to everything - food, ferry, temple and gates. The best view of the Itsukushima shrine and it's oceanfront Torii gate, as well the whole of Miyajima island and mountain landscape, right infront of yours room balcony! The available private onsen has the same wonderful view plus the enjoynment of soaking in the hot mineral water! The breakfast is buffet type with extensive range of choices. While dinner time is the japanese course menu. Unfortunately for both the cuisine stays the same, while for breakfast it is undestandable, but for dinner they only changed the appetizer, the other dishes stayed exactly the same, so it could be bland taste if overstaying more than 1-2 nights.

The view from the ocean side of the hotel is absolutely beautiful overlooking Miyajima Island and the Great Torii Gate. The included onsen is gorgeous, with both indoor and outdoor pools to choose from. You also get to pick your own yukata to wear during your stay with beautiful designs! Free drinks including beer, coffee and juice as well as icecreams was a nice touch. Loved our stay!

The property is a traditional Japanese house, typical of the Miyajima region. Beautifully preserved and with contemporary furniture that they managed to combine in an extraordinary way. The house is very small, so it has only one room, this makes you practically rented not a room, but the house complete with your own Japanese interior garden, its doors of Japanese paper, by the way very beautiful. They place incense, which gives it a very pleasant atmosphere. An extraordinary experience to rest in a Ryokan in a magical destination. Kousu Ke takes care of the property and was an extraordinary person, kind and very helpful. He solved a problem for me with the shipment of a package that he had lost at a destination prior to our arrival, and made sure I received it at my next destination. There cannot be a better host. The location is unbeatable, a couple of blocks from the main street. Walking to the bay took you through the little streets of traditional houses, and you could see the residents going about their daily lives.

This was up to now the best experience we had in Japan so far, both from culinary and stay point of view (even though we already stayed at several other locations before). We got a heartfelt welcome and we felt very good right from the beginning here. The room was spacious and we got a marvelous view. It was clean and very thoughtfully furnished/equipped. The food was so amazing and for the first time we were guided though the Kaiseki Dinner. We were told what we are eating and how we can savor it in the best way. We were very sad to leave this place and we will definitely return one day if we can.

Hotel Miyu Rikyu is perfectly situated along the waterfront just a few steps from Miyajima Ferry. We had a sea view room and could see the Otori Gate from our window. The setting and room were very. beautiful, Sleeping on the traditional futons on tatami mats was comfortable, and the set 12 course menu was delicious (though could be challenging for picky eaters). Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. Note that we were the only foreigners during our stay and the staff does speak English but it is a much more traditional Ryokan. On site onsen (public bath) was very nice with a small view out to the sea from the top floor.

We stayed in the older part of the ryokan and it was spectacular. The rooms have beautiful views and the onsen is heavenly. Staff were friendly and helpful, and our meals were delicious and perfectly presented. We had a very romantic stay and enjoyed being on the island at night. Do yourself a favour and wear the yukata - it's the most comfortable clothing I've ever worn. We would love to come back!

Everything was exceptional. We loved the Oyado Tsukiusagi! It had the most comfortable futon beds we experienced through our 5 weeks of traveling through Japan, a beautiful and clean room, and the lady at the hotel was very nice and welcoming. We really love Miyajima so we were very happy that we could stay at the island through the night.

Don't miss this.

Don't miss this. One of the three most beautiful areas in Japan as I am told. Is beautiful. Deer roam the area. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants. is a small island with traditional houses. Just beautiful You can take a ferry from Hiroshima near peace park to island. Went with Japanese friend of my son's thought I would enjoy experience and I did. Stayed at jeikuso ryokan

The main reasson to visit was the Itsukushima Shrine but there was plenty of other shrines and temples to visit. The ropeway to Mt, Misen was great. The hike down not so much (not a trail, mainly steps - hard on the knees.

Miyajima was great for walking around and doing the ropeway to the top. A lot of little eateries and street food- good if you like seafood. Scenic with the giant Tori gate and shrines, woods, deer walking around. Miyajima was one of my favorite spots on our trip to Japan.
