Located in Myoko, 16 miles from Ryuoo Ski Park, Onpoint Madarao has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. Room - The room was super cozy and stylish. It had beautiful views into the forest, plus a really comfortable and warm bed which felt perfect after skiing or snowshoe hiking. Hotel - The hotel had a very warm and welcoming vibe that made us feel at home and relaxed throughout our stay. The cinema room was great and there was a wide selection of games to play so we were able to enjoy spending time inside the hotel as well as going out. Food - All our meals were so delicious! We decided to have both breakfast and dinner at the hotel during our stay and every meal tasted incredible and was varied each day. The food was definitely one of the highlights! Area - Madarao is incredibly beautiful! The ski resort is great for both beginners and more experienced skiers, and you can enjoy stunning views of the area even from the lower beginner slopes. The snowshoe hike from the hotel is beautiful too and takes you down to the nearby lake. Overall - We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Onpoint Madarao, both at the hotel and in its the surroundings. Most of all though we want to thank our hosts Justin and Kaori who made the hotel feel like home during our stay! They were really helpful all week and made sure we enjoyed Madarao to the fullest. Thank you, we look forward to visiting again!

Myoko
The owners are very kind and surprisingly accommodating for Japanese standards. We were traveling with a dog so their flexibility was a huge plus. The host is also the director of the Myoko Kogen Visitor Center and a certified mountain and trekking guide! The couple speaks very good English and is knowledgeable about the area in all seasons. We'll be back for some hiking in the summer for sure. Breakfast was lovely too, from the food presentation and their attentive service to the food variety.
Myoko
Japanese room is in good size with bathroom and toilet. Buffet breakfast is suitable for all and tasteful. Onsen is small but good enough for relaxing after skiing. Few restaurants are nearby. Many staff can speak English and they are friendly and helpful. Free shuttle service from Myoko kogen Station.
A traditional ryokan with great service and delicious meals. We stayed for three nights and we had different variety for every meal. They picked us up from the train station and shuttled us to the ski slopes. The owners are very friendly and gracious.
beautiful property very cozy. ski in ski out. host was very helpful with everything and also upgraded us to a beautiful room.
Ski in ski out. Full facilities of kitchen. But it’s better to buy groceries upfront as no walking distance mini/supermarket around. My Japanese housemate help me to buy groceries online via Aeon website and deliver within next day late afternoon. Proper western bed and comfortable bed. Sufficient heating system. Great hospitality from owner and family. Great discount for 1 and 2 days ski pass. Provided wax table for ski/snowboard. Love the in house onsen. I was onsen 2 times a day. Almost prefect facilities for ski resort with amazing reasonable price and snow and trail quality. Suginohara trail is for intermediate level with huge width and long trail for up skill.
We loved the traditional Japanese rooms. it was spacious and clean and the large window that overlooked the mountains was the best! The room was kept very clean and warm, and I absolutely loved the hot water and tea corner that was a life saver! They even had a shuttle bus from the nearest station so that made the journey effortless and smooth. The buffet breakfast had a huge selection, both traditional and western options too! We also made use of the Ski rental shop which was mighty convenient!
The lodge is in a beautiful location in the mountains. The view is breathtaking. If you like to have a traditional Japanese experience this is the right place. We booked half board and our breakfast and dinner was exceptional.. The owner and staff is very friendly. The lodge is rustic and feels like home. We had a wonderful time and will stay again.
Nice view, good dinner menu, nice illumination
I like this property very much, very clean and traditional.
Very comfortable house and friendly staff. Simple but good breakfast. Shuttle to the lifts in the morning
The owner was kind and took me from and to the station The room was nice and the onsen was a good plus
Staff’s flexible consideration for us. We really appreciate it and surely come back for next time.
