Beyond expectation! The house was built last year so the facilities are new and modern. It’s a very “lonely” and peaceful place with only three guest suites. Both the bedroom and bathroom are equipped with beautiful windows where we enjoyed immersive sea view, snow mountains and sunrises. The host is a very friendly couple. The husband who is also the chef of this hotel cook fantastic Japanese food!!! We enjoyed the food in the dinning room of the hotel which has three big windows of the sea view! Amazing experience, will definitely stay again for longer duration.

The breakfast had good variety. It was just okay. All the staff were extremely friendly to us. This hotel was such a good price, my sons and I each got our own room to be apart for one night of travel. The room is small but had good amenities. It is near a laundromat and a 7-11 which was perfect and I like the town of Himi, it was very peaceful.

Pleasant Japanese-style room with stunning view of the bay, sunrise, and moonrise at night. You can bicycle up along the coastal bicycle road and in 30-45 min get to very nice beaches (the one right upfront in Uchinada is not clean). The tatamis were fake but there was a nice goza (tatami-like carpet) that you can fold, and that felt good on the skin. The new futon mattresses were awesome for my back!!!

The couple who run the place are so, so nice, and were able to accommodate my friend’s food allergies without any problems (which, if you know Japan, you know that that’s not always the case!). Plus, the breakfast we got was huge and totally delicious. But the real draw is that the house itself is BEAUTIFUL. I can’t stress enough how charming it is- everywhere you look there’s some lovely tchotchke or antique to discover, all very lovingly arranged. There’s a huge deck outside where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature; a massive bath that you can share with friends/fam or keep all to yourself; a room filled with the owners’ personal collection of Showa memorabilia; etc, etc. The rooms were pretty spare but perfectly suitable, especially given all the lounge spaces in the house. Overall AMAZING experience.

This is an older hotel (built in the 1930s, if I remember correctly) that’s been beautifully renovated it still has that old charm but is super clean and comfortable. The room was huge with an ocean view. I stayed on a Tuesday night, and despite the size of the hotel, the onsen was quiet and relaxing. There’s both an indoor and an outdoor bath facing the ocean. At night there were only four people including me, and in the morning I had it all to myself. WIFI was a bit slow on my phone but worked well on the laptop. Breakfast was mostly Japanese dishes, and you can heat up some items on a small charcoal grill, which was a nice. The staff were very kind, and there are English signs throughout the hotel. Himi itself is a beautiful, peaceful city that I’d definitely return to,and I’d stay at Eihokaku again for sure.

The building is obviously aged, and we were concerned what the room might be like when we first saw the carpets in the corridors (which need an upgrade) but were pleasantly surprised with the room given previous ratings and reviews. The traditional dinner was an amazing experience. Customer service wonderful.

It's quite relaxing up in the mountains staying in a resort hotel. I didn't exactly use the golf course though. The kaiseki ryori was pretty nice too and the staff friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable and the hot spring is very nice..

The seaside accomodation was just as advertised.

The seaside accomodation was just as advertised. The host was helpful and a delight. She made sure we had a lovely 2 nights there. Rooms were well presented and large with amenities that were first rate. The glass manufacture workshop and the glass museum were well woth the trip. The glass gallery is world class and the architecture special and suited to its location. The aquarium was disappointing. Show was good but the maintenance of the facility needs work.

Beautiful place, but nothing else around there, except for walks, but if you stay 2nights then no need to go anywhere. Also, the Top Suites are the best because they are more private and newer , and the more reasonable rooms are smaller and even with the balcony you can see in the room next door, my next trip will be in the Gulf suite where I intend to relax , the food is great , and I'm a Vegetarian which they managed nicely , except for the White bread at breakfast , they couldn't do a Japanese style breakfast , but dinner was OK Japanese style. Onsen is great , but mind your head if your tall as I wacked my head going to Breakfast ,,,, they need to give a warning there. Otherwise save up and take the best room /suite you can and stay for at least 2 nights to get one full day there . I, will finish by saying this is a very special place in Japan ,one of my top 5.
