We loved our stay at the Villa Romduol - this is an amazing place that offers an incredible value - it was the best place we stayed at during our travels in Cambodia (so far) yet the cheapest which is just crazy. It's so beautiful and relaxing - both our room and the common areas and outdoor garden are so beautiful and the villa staff / owners so incredibly nice, kind and generous. We spent most of our time just staying put and enjoying it all, as it was so beautiful and convenient with delicious meals served in the beautiful surroundings that we were not keen on going out at all - except for bike riding in the nearby countryside which was amazing and the free bikes provided by the Villa were excellent and perfect for the local roads (as these were quite rough and sandy in places...). We were sad to leave, as we had already booked to stay elsewhere in / near Kampot - the Villa Romduol and the owners' family will be fondly remembered :)

It was great to stay here! We hadn't slept well in a few days in Cambodia and we had the best sleeps ever here. Comfy pillows, comfy bed, great breakfast and coffee and great hosts. We were driving a tuktuk so it was easy to get into town from here.

The Old Cinema has a very unique architecture and an incredibly charming, and unconventional interior, both in the fantastic common areas downstairs, including the pool and an indoor vegetated "oasis" and in the rooms. A lot of attention is put into the extra detail - for use, for comfort, for the eye. The food was delicious, the staff extremely helpful and kind. I loved it!

Absolutely wonderful old building. Rooms are decorated in individual themes with beautiful detail. Very comfy bed. The owner is so welcoming and accommodating. My checkout time was extended to accommodate my late departure on the train. Convenient and central location, easy walking to all my favourite coffee shops and restaurants. One of the very best places I have stayed in Cambodia.

The lovely couple Stepan and Juli, who runs this place is great, they helped us with everything we needed, even prepared for us breakfest to go since we had to leave early for a tour. I also had some food poisoning from other place and they helped me with pills so i could go on a tour. Very lovely stay here.

Loved everything about our stay, such friendly staff, great pool and brilliant accommodation. The owner even gave us face masks when he heard we were driving to Sihanoukville by scooters that day as the roads were bad and dusty. Highly recommend!

The staff were all amazing, from the pool boy, the waitresses, cleaners and gardeners.The chef is absolutely fantastic. We booked 3 nights but ended up staying 8 nights. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel and didn't have a bad meal in 8 days. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place, we really didn't want to leave. For a good part of our visit, we felt like the only people there. It was so relaxing after spending 2 weeks touring around Cambodia. The view from our room was amazing, infinity pool, the beach/sea and especially the sunsets. Would definitely recommend!

It’s a cozy small boutique hotel. Not far from the town center. A nice walk along the river is all it takes to arrive. The breakfast was great. The pool is a nice place to relax. Rooms are comfortable, restaurant very inviting as well. The best of the stay is the staff! Kind, professional justa amazing team!

Nice town. Not too much traffic trying to run you down. Some great vegan/veggie restaurants. Lots of places to eat. Riverside walk really nice, peaceful. Beach ok, but need to watch the roaming dogs as they use it as a toilet!! Nice town and shop areas. Visit the pepper plantation, awesome products.

Great location and people . restaurants were plentiful. If you don't like too much sun and heat, Make sure to go during winter season because even in December walking along the river walkway was very sunny and very hot even in the early mornings. Had to safe strolling in the evenings.

Kampot city is great but there is a large amount of (mostly...

Kampot city is great but there is a large amount of (mostly retired) foreigners there so sometimes the Khmer culture can be lost in the crowd. I noticed a lot of foreigners now have pet dogs. (We saw a spontaneous dogfight between the local street dogs competing for territory that involved five animals - it was a little distressing). The French Colonial architecture is beautiful if you look up. When the Cambodians paint them and keep them in good condition, they really add value to the neighbourhood. The Kampot area has plenty to do with local agriculture (fruit and the famous Kampot pepper), kayaking on the river, small beaches, and sight-seeing. You can spend a few days exploring the surrounding area including a day trip to Kep to eat the famous pepper crabs.
