The room was super clean and spacious, with everything we needed like AC, hot water, and a hairdryer. The view from the patio was amazing – you could see Bokor Mountain perfectly. The owners were so nice and friendly, and the Khmer food they cooked was delicious.

Quiet area. Filtered water available so I didn't have to purchase bottled water. Room was cleaned when requested as I informed host I did not need my room cleaned daily. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Host arranged transport to Kep for me. He also booked an appointment with his dentist and helped with finding a pharmacy so I could purchase medication. He arranged several tuk tuk rides for me. It was only approx $3 RT for short rides to go into town for the night market and meals - it was too hot for me to walk that far. Gin & Tonics there were only $2!

The hotel is very nice with the pool and the rooms had all the necessities one needs. They even had a free tuktuk ride to the town since the hotel is a bit further from town but it was lovely how quiet it was. The staff is wonderful!

I stayed for two nights at Old Cinema in Kampot, and it was without a doubt the most incredible hotel experience of my entire trip. From the moment I arrived, the level of care and attention from the staff was unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere. Every interaction felt genuine, thoughtful, and warm. My room was beautifully modern, cosy, and clearly designed with comfort in mind. It felt like a true retreat at the end of each day. But the highlight of my stay was breakfast. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the waitress—whose name I sadly forgot—was exceptionally kind and attentive. Her warmth and thoughtfulness added something truly special to each morning and made the whole experience feel personal and memorable. Old Cinema is more than just a place to stay; it’s a place that makes you feel cared for. I can’t recommend it highly enough, and I’m already looking forward to returning someday.

Staff was amazing! Everyone always had a smile and reception greeted us every time with our names. Exceptionally friendly. Location is a bit out of town (Kampot) and as first timers in Cambodia we did not realize, however this wasn't a big inconvenience, it was a cheap, 20 mi tuk tuk into town. Food was fantastic, great drinks! Highly recommend the old fashioned and the holy smokes! Rooms are tucked away into nature, making for a lot of privacy.

Absolutely wonderful old building. Rooms are decorated in individual themes with beautiful detail. Very comfy bed. The owner is so welcoming and accommodating. My checkout time was extended to accommodate my late departure on the train. Convenient and central location, easy walking to all my favourite coffee shops and restaurants. One of the very best places I have stayed in Cambodia.

This is a new property that only opened towards the end of 2024 and is located in a quiet area but only a shortish walk into the centre. The family that own the hotel are lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful when we had a minor medical issue.

What an amazing hotel! The owners and staff go above and beyond. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Food was delicious. Facilities were perfect It was my daughter’s birthday during their stay and the hotel decorated her room. Balloons and a surprise cake at dinner. Nothing was a problem and they made their stay memorable and perfect.

My stay at Bohemiaz Resort in Kampot was exactly what I needed. I stayed in one of the hobbit huts right next to the natural pool, and it was such a peaceful spot. The natural pool was quiet and serene, perfect for a swim or just chilling by the water. The rainwater pool was great for a longer dip, and the shaded jacuzzi pool was ideal after a day of exploring. Plus, I loved having access to the steam room and sauna – a nice way to unwind each evening. The food was simple but so good. The Buddha bowls were my go-to – fresh, healthy, and tasty. Fresh coconuts were a daily treat, too. There’s also a minimart just a short walk away with cheese and chocolate, so I made sure to stock up on those little indulgences! I also took full advantage of the yoga center just around the corner. The sunrise and sunset sessions were the perfect way to start and end the day. There’s something about stretching out while the sun rises or sets over the landscape that just makes the whole experience feel even more special. The staff really made the place stand out, too. They were all so friendly, funny, and easygoing – they really created a relaxed vibe that made the place feel like home. Bohemiaz isn’t just about the beautiful setting – it’s a place that feels welcoming and unpretentious, where you can just be yourself. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic retreat in Kampot, this is the place.

Nice town. Not too much traffic trying to run you down. Some great vegan/veggie restaurants. Lots of places to eat. Riverside walk really nice, peaceful. Beach ok, but need to watch the roaming dogs as they use it as a toilet!! Nice town and shop areas. Visit the pepper plantation, awesome products.

Great location and people . restaurants were plentiful. If you don't like too much sun and heat, Make sure to go during winter season because even in December walking along the river walkway was very sunny and very hot even in the early mornings. Had to safe strolling in the evenings.

Kampot city is great but there is a large amount of (mostly...

Kampot city is great but there is a large amount of (mostly retired) foreigners there so sometimes the Khmer culture can be lost in the crowd. I noticed a lot of foreigners now have pet dogs. (We saw a spontaneous dogfight between the local street dogs competing for territory that involved five animals - it was a little distressing). The French Colonial architecture is beautiful if you look up. When the Cambodians paint them and keep them in good condition, they really add value to the neighbourhood. The Kampot area has plenty to do with local agriculture (fruit and the famous Kampot pepper), kayaking on the river, small beaches, and sight-seeing. You can spend a few days exploring the surrounding area including a day trip to Kep to eat the famous pepper crabs.
