I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Hiriketiya. The hotel is brand new with spacious, comfortable rooms and a nice balcony. The rooftop terrace has amazing views and is the perfect spot for breakfast — make sure to try the traditional Sri Lankan dishes. In the evenings, grab a cocktail and enjoy the night sky from up there. The staff were always friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back.

Everything was PERFECT. Best stay in my time in Sri Lanka! I got injured while surfing so I just wanted a hotel where I could chill all day and this place was amazing. Super friendly staff, amazing rooms, super clean, delicious breakfast, drinks and dinner. I would’ve loved to stay longer!

Beautiful brand new rooms / modern, very spacious!! Great aircon, and fan and balcony. Staff were truely the highlight of this stay. They organised a bike to rent, the safari trio Yala and someone to take us to Ella. We loved that driver so much we used him for the rest of our trip! We also struggled to find a currency exchange in Sri Lanka, but they organised someone to come the hotel and rate was unbeatable. Anything we asked, they were SO happy to help and did it so quickly. They were so friendly and welcomed us so warmly every time we passed them coming in and out of the resort. Probably my fave place we stay because of the people who run it xx OH and Dickwella beach is right at the end of the drive way and beats Hiriketiya beach by a mile. So much better and much quieter to spend the day.

I had a great time staying at Lucky Monkey Inn & Restaurant. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the whole place has a really relaxed, welcoming vibe. Cooling down in the pool was always a highlight during the day. Absolutely the Best Way to Explore the Sinharaja Rainforest! This was our favourite place we stayed on Sri Lanka trip. This eco-lodge is hands down the ultimate way to experience the magic of the Sinharaja Rainforest. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear you’re in for something extraordinary. The location is beyond words—completely surrounded by lush rainforests, making you feel truly immersed in nature. It is so peaceful and quite - no noise from roads, traffic etc. The staff made our entire stay seamless and stress-free. They have a convenient car park in the nearby village, where they meet you and transfer you up to the lodge in a 4x4—what a fun start to the adventure! We stayed for two nights (but would have happily stayed a 3rd). The accommodation is spectacular. Large windows on every side of the room allow you to feel like you’re right in the heart of the jungle. Waking up to the incredible sounds of the rainforest was unforgettable, and we even spotted monkeys and exotic birds right in our room! Amazingly, you also get wifi in your room. The staff were outstanding, from the friendly restaurant team to the knowledgeable guides. On arrival, the Duty Manager, Mithun, warmly welcomed us, explained all the details about meal times, and helped us plan treks into the rainforest. They offer a variety of treks and provide you with a guide. They are also pretty flexible, We wanted a longer trek to explore more of the jungle and this wasn't a problem. The trek itself was a dream. We spotted an incredible variety of wildlife, including lizards, snakes, and a stunning array of Sri Lankan birds. The guides were so knowledgeable and enhanced the experience. Overall, this was incredible value for money. Running such a well-maintained eco-lodge in the middle of the rainforest can’t be easy, yet they make it feel effortless. If you’re looking for great value for money and an unforgettable way to explore Sinharaja, this is absolutely it.

Turtle: Right in front of the hotel is a spot where you can swim with turtle... (Funny enough they are not shy and swim to you) Location: You are right ocean front and meters aways from night beach restaurants Staff: Including owner were super helpfull and welcoming Pool: The 25 x meters pool was quite a suprise... also a blessing to find it cristal clear (Which is not the case in other hotel we went during out trip) The wooden bungalow: were very charming and authentic,... with all the modern confort (Nice to have a good working AC after a day visiting. The food option: are limited, but good quality, normaly priced and available.

Great for 2 days disconnecting, surrounded by nature. The open air cabanas and rooms are amazing, especially the open shower, I saw 2 toucans chilling on my shower. Pool is great and there is plenty of space for sunbathing there when tired of the beach. Option to join a yoga class (morning and evening) or have a treatment at the spa as add-ons. Breakfast was good (mostly sri Lankan curry but some sweet options too)

The location and hotel facilities are amazing. We stayed at the suite and it was the best room we have ever been to, with incredible seaview. Fully recommend this hotel if you are planning to go to Sri Lanka south beaches, it has a turtle view point just in the beach of the hotel and it is really close to Hiriketiya beach where you can surf and enjoy the cool vibes of that beach.

This little surfing town has my heart.

This little surfing town has my heart. It’s a small place with two amazing beaches just a 15-minute walk apart, and the locals are incredible — always happy to help. The food, cafes, and pool clubs are all great. I had my first surfing experience here and I’m already eager to try it again. The vibe is just amazing.

Went to Kai club on the beach. Good food and also amenities when you are visiting the beach. It also has a pool. So had good time getting drenched both at the beach and also at the pool later on. Neatly maintained showers, restrooms and changing rooms.

Lovely little place with amazing white sanded ,wide beach (2 km long ) perfect for running and just walking . Nice cafes and restaurants on both end that offer free with your order sun lounges or for a small charge .The area feels very calm although very close to the busy surf Hiriketya beach Would return !

Matara isn't a big town so it is relatively quick to get...

Matara isn't a big town so it is relatively quick to get from A to B. The beach is beautiful. But there aren't that many restaurants in in the town. The Matara Rest House near the fort had good food and drinks and is one of the most worth it dining options nearby. Lemon is also a good option. There are restaurants closer to the touristy spots but those are on the pricier side. snorkeling with turtles is popular in Matara.

I had a really lovely stay at The Sevana.

I had a really lovely stay at The Sevana. It’s peaceful, set in nature, and feels very easy to relax into. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the food is fresh and full of flavour, and everything feels well thought through. The team were warm and helpful without being over the top. Just a really nice place to switch off. Will definitely return!

It's perfect for surfers but you have to take a tuk tuk to Medigama for groceries, more shopping and dining options. Near the train station which is handy. The local buses are also a great travel option.

The hotel was nice cosy old world style, the surfing classes and solt restaurant and the coast gaurd was all next door.the beach is amazing. The whale watching experience and surfing classes is a must do, good value for money

Beautiful little village, great beach (for swimming, tanning...

Beautiful little village, great beach (for swimming, tanning, surfing), lots of great cafes and restaurants, great vibe, felt very safe, a few nice boutiques and even spas - out of all beach areas in Sri Lanka I'm so glad I spent most time here, it was my favourite - felt very boutique compared to the other very large, toursity spots.
