Located opposite the beach and just in front of a surf point, Weligama Ocean Breeze features an outdoor swimming pool, a restaurant and a large garden. Select rooms come with free WiFi access. My partner and I had a great stay at this hotel. Before we arrived we were informed there was work being done to the swimming pool, but for this inconvenience we were upgraded to a deluxe room. The room was very comfortable, with a lovely balcony and a large bed. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We were cooked a large breakfast everyday. Also extremely close to Weligama beach, with surfboard hire next to the hotel. We would recommend this hotel highly if staying in Weligama.

One of the best hotels in Weligama. The architecture of the hotel and the surrounding was spectacular. Rooms got ample space and those are very comfortable. Buffet was not available I think due to low occupancy but the food they served was very good. Staff was friendly and they are willing to support the guest any given time. Overall we had a peaceful stay.

You go to Weligama to learn surfing, or otherwise use the beach. Otherwise the place is maybe a bit too chaotic, dirty, and loud for European travellers ;) There is garbage collection, but still a lot of garbage is lying around and ending up in the sea.

Weligama is small town.
Weligama is small town. We lived little outskirts in rural area, Weligama is cheaper than other distinations such as Mirissa nearby. However if one needs to party and need restaurants then you cannot find many at Weligama. We were looking for quiet, relaxed and comparitively cheaper 15 days break between our two months vacation and Weligama helped us with same. Mirissa beach is more better and lively than Weligama Beach. However small section of beach near Cape Weligama resort via Kumbalgama junction is quiet and peaceful. Having your own or rented vehicle is definitely plus point or else one has to hire Tuktuk to Mirissa which may cost 1000-1400 LKR To and Fro dependinging on your bargaining skills. Once can definitely go to both mirissa, unwatuna and galle from Weligama on day excursions.

I love staying in Weligama for surf because its the best beach with sandy bottom for beginners and intermediate surfers like me. Lot's of places around to eat out, easy to go to nearby Mirissa or Ahangama, but staying right by the beach. Also a chance to take surf lessons with best Sri Lankan surfer (Champion for past 3 years) is very cool, never got a chance like that in other countries and probably wouldn't be able to afford it!

Weligama is emerging as the first destination 'resort' on Sri Lanka's southern coastline. Post Covid the cool surfer vibe is beginning to come back and western and Asian tourists can be seen on the beach and in the bars/hang outs. There's a long way to go, but Weligama is a 'must visit' for backpackers and families visiting Sri Lanka. Must visit Hangtime for great food, drinks and vibe.

Beautiful beach safe for children and enough waves to surf and keep entertained. Plenty of surf shacks for surf board hire and lessons, juice bars and cafes. You can walk into the main shopping area where there is a supermarket, shops, restaurants and fuel station. Quiet and relaxing yet close to Marissa or Galle. Perfect for families.

There were so many really good points about this hotel. Staff were extremely attentive, Breakfast buffet was excellent, We loved the Big Fish restaurant and its bar area although it was not very busy. Location on Weligama beach was very good and great for the novice surfers. Also a great beach vibe going on next door to the hotel which we loved. Just a Tuk Tuk ride to Mirissa beach where there are so many more beach restaurant options. Would definitely come back here.

The stuff was very friendly and the location is super located at a not so crowded, wunderful beach. Left to the hotel there is a building place unfortunately what sometimes was little noisy on the balcony, but that's not their fault of course. So We definitely can recommend to stay at latheena

The location is awesome, right on the cliff with steps to the beach. Well worth the extra for an ocean view room. Falling asleep to the sound of the sea. Take swimming shoes as the beach in front of the hotel has a reef and the stones are sharp. Amazing snorkelling. Try the Sri Lankan breakfast (amazing) but the European is also good. Lovely friendly staff.
