Location is amazing, also only place open in town for dinner so it’s an ideal stay. Food was unreal and staff were lovely.

This hotel is excellent. The room was spacious and clean. It is also air conditioned if you happen to be there during a heatwave like we were. The spacious bathroom is also equipped with handrails and a shower chair in case people need them. I definitely recommend.

Easy to find in the centre of a small village. The staff speak good English and are very knowledgable of the local area. Great location to explore “Little Switzerland”. Rooms are very large, comfortable, clean and well appointed. The food in the restaurant is excellent and well priced. Breakfast is included in the price and is also excellent.

Room is very clean, the bed is very comfy (very firm). Location is very central and perfect for exploring the castle and the village. There is a fan in the room which helps with the heatwave. Breakfast at the hotel is convenient and has a good variety.

Super friendly staff , extremely helpfull. The food in the restaurant is very good and breakfast had more than you need!

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming hotel surrounded by nature. The location is absolutely beautiful — a rocky mountain backdrop, a peaceful river in front, and plenty of hiking paths all around. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, perfect for a few days of rest. Our room had a lovely view, was comfortable and clean, and the heating worked very well. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We also had dinner twice at their restaurant and both times the food was great. They always offer one vegan soup and one vegan main course — both were delicious!

We are visiting from Australia and highly recommend Waldhotel to all travellers. The facilities are exceptional with comfort cleanliness a priority. The staff all spoke English and were focused on our experience being of utmost importance. Hopefully we can return again. Thank you

The rooms are renovated and very comfortable. The location is great and the staff very nice.

Old school charm while also modern and well designed. Loved the family room and the balcony with lovely garden view.

The swimming pool, whilst small, was perfect for a refreshing dip. I was very lucky to have it all to myself at 8am. The sun terrace would have been lovely but it was so hot on the day I visited, I could only take about 10 minutes out there. The bar was good for a quick drink before going out for dinner and for a night cap Location, not difficult in such a small place, but ideal at the foot of the castle and 2 mins walk from a selection of good bars and restaurants.

We liked everything about the location. Excellent staff and facilities. It was a great place to base ourselves for exploring the region.

It was a bit expensive, but the hotel was amazing. It was quiet, it was clean, it was fabulous, the breakfast was delicious.

Staff were hugely friendly and very helpful. Check in was easy and all questions were answered.

it's a family owned hotel; I had the pleasure of meeting 3 generations. The moment I stepped in I felt somewhat ' at home": lots of original furniture. There is a dining room, an indoor terras, a bar (smoking allowed !) An outdoor lush garden. The room (2 p) and ensuite bathroom was spacious with watercooker etc as advertised. I was baffled with breakfast: an overwhelming choice of bread, sweets, fruit and plenty excellent coffee. Indoor parking is a nice touch as well. They speak french, german, english and even a bit dutch (in that order: so I hope Dutch people will show some courtesy by trying any other language except there own :-) !) Berdorf itself has nothing much to offer; but excellent located from hiking trails within a perimeter of 5 - 10 km. Busses are free but I stuck to my car since I wanted to do/see a lot.

I traveled with colleagues for business purposes, and we needed a hotel that is close to Roost/Bissen. I really enjoyed this one. It has a simple interior, yet it is clean, quiet, and pleasant. Also breakfast is very good. I recommend it.
