Hotel in Playa del Carmen
Located in Playa del Carmen, 5.5 miles from Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal, Hotel Xcaret Arte - All Parks All Fun Inclusive - Adults Only provides accommodations with free bikes, free private... I have put some thoughts before writing this review.. the thing is this is probably one of the best resorts in the world! I mean it’s not ultra fancy, perfect nor it is for everyone, but I think it’s for most of people out there. It’s new, eco friendly, massive, clean, organized, locally focused, Mexican in heart with amazing food and drinks and gives access to all xcaret brand parks and facilities (besides casa de la playa, the most exclusive one). In a lot of ways it improves the already good Xcaret Mexico hotel (the first one). Indeed 3 years ago I have stayed in Xcaret Mexico hotel and besides the obvious absence of children in this one I founded the service much better overall, the refinement improved, the materials although similar are newer and feel more modern and stylish. I really appreciated the scent change in bath amenities, much better than in the previous hotel (actually I have complained before). In the first day I was a little disappointed as the main pool was very cold…don’t know if a conversation I had with the pool staff had any consequence but the following days the water was so much warmer, it was really enjoyable! So it is definitely a heated pool! The hotel should keep it always warm as its the best spot of the resort to linger! I also found a smaller pool besides building Casa Musica that is much hotter than the others, a calm place to relax and to enjoy great coktails (secret spot!). The food. Where to start… a massive main restaurant Mercado de San Juan which can be overwhelming big, delivers impressive high quality food considering the variety and the massive amount of food available all day long. I just think it is not well organized, there is deserts in the middle, Mexican food scattered around, and just seems a little confusing to navigate. Regarding the a la Carte restaurants they are all good quality but Tah Xido and Encanta restaurants were a level above the rest, truly amazing experience!

Hotel in Centro, Playa del Carmen
Aalada Playa del Carmen is attractively located in the center of Playa del Carmen, and has an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a garden. An absolutely beautiful boutique hotel - it is centrally located, close to everything (near Walmart and 5 minutes walk from the bus station). Everything seems to be new in the property. My room was cute and nicely decorated. It was on the 1st floor (room 203) and had a hammock and chairs in the balcony in front of the room. The room was refreshed every day by the cleaner and it had an amazing scent whenever I was coming back to the room. The aircon was working property and was very quiet. When you enter the property the first thing you see is stunning pool and sun decks where you can relax. The hotel has only a handful number of rooms, as such, the place is never crowded and is very peaceful during the day. The hotel also provides vouchers to enter one of the beach clubs - as part of the voucher you are entitled to use their sun decks however there is a minimum consumption required from you. The beach club is located 20 minutes walk from the property (it is a nice walk though).

Well situated in the center of Playa del Carmen, Rodina Boutique Hotel has free WiFi and an outdoor swimming pool. Literally amazing experience, the hosts are the most warmest couple (brother and sister) we met in the coast. The hostel is well designed with attention to every small detail. We eventually change to the room with the pool view which is a bit smaller but shadowed an entire day by the beautiful tree in the yard.

We liked the Maya Museum the best. Chetumal is the capital of Quintana Roo state, but it is not a large city. It is a good overnight stop on the way between Cancun and Palenque.
Playa del Carmen is awesome! We picked this place to be our base out here in Quintana Roo since we were going to be traveling to Cancun and Tulum and since it's a mid way point we stayed here for 6 nights! Should of stayed a couple more days! During our stay in playa we would go down 5ta avenida where all the restaurants and bars are at (downtown) and had lunch and dinner there just a few steps from the beach. One of the places we went more than onces was Los Hijos De Las Tostadas, great seviche there for sure! We went out to mamitas beach club witch was decent but only place we found where they had music at the beach. We also took a ferry to Cozumel and went diving! Playa also has a night life we went to La Vaquita and abolengo, we chose these clubs over mandala and coco bingo because they were way cheaper and much better music. We then went to mandala to see what all the hype was about and left disappointed.
This city is a shame, a shame as the capital of Quintana Roo. The streets in very bad conditions, lights not working properly, lots of garbage all around, everything seems old and broken. A feel of insecurity all around. Definitely my last time in this city.
You need at least two days to enjoy Bacalar. It is simply a dream. If you are traveling around Quintana Roo, this place is a must. If you love nature , go.
Playa del carmen is ideal if you want the exact balance between nature, beuaty, and confort. Different and more personal than cancun, since you a in a small town, but nicer than tulum. Playa del carmen is close to everything touristic in quintana roo, it is a great point to stay to avoid the long drives either from cancun or tulum. If you buy in 5ta avenida, beware that everything is much more expensive than in the rest of the town, thou the places are really beautiful, in most of the cases worth of the extra paying. The beach is quite good, but not as good as the ones in tulum, at the begining of playa car (coming from cancun) are the best ones. There are lots of parks to visit, lot of nature, lot of fun, lot of everything, don't miss this place!
Two weeks in the Yucatan/Quintana Roo and Cozumel was definitely my favourite out of all the places we visited. The island itself is beautiful, very picturesque and it is also easy to get to from the mainland. We spent two days snorkeling/on the beach and the water was the cleanest we'd seen so far. The best part of my whole holiday was snorkeling on Cozumel as even in the shallowest water there are lots of fish and we got loads of great pictures and videos. In the evening it is also a fun place to eat out in and go for a walk as the atmosphere is really relaxed and there are some bars and authentic restaurants. We only stayed two nights and spent both of them at Los Otates. I really recommend it, both for the food and for the extremely friendly staff, especially the bartender Omar who makes amazing margaritas, including his own recipe with a hint of chilli. The only criticism I have of Cozumel is that during the day you can't walk for people trying to sell you something or drag you in their shops. It's completely different to the evening when everything is a lot more chilled.
Cancun is basically the Las Vegas of Quintana Roo. You don't get much of a taste for Mexico, though there are things to do and the many all-inclusive hotels make planning a vacation super simple. If what you mostly want is to go between pool and beach, then Cancun is fine.
This is the hidden gem on the Yucatan/Quintana Roo coastline. If you want droves of crowds and alcohol-fueled action, go to Cancun. If you want to simply relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Mexican island life, come to Isla Mujeres...you can always thank me later. Without a doubt, make reservations at Olivia's...and, although you may not need reservations, be sure to check out Polo's Mango Café and Rooster's (for breakfast).
It is a capital of Quintana Roo - the #1 tourist state in Mexico. Though most people are crowded around Cancun and Rivera Maya, Chetumal has its fare share of interesting things to explore, a lot can be learned about Mexican history and history of Maya visiting Chetumal museums, there are beautiful Mayan sites easily accessible by car and gorgeous lake of Bacalar is near by. There are beaches, boating, Xcalac and Mahahual are not too far, great food, nice people (not much English speaking though). Chetumal is right on the border with Belize which is as well hugely popular for tourism! I live in Belize and highly recommend visiting both - Southern Q. Roo and Belize!
I cannot say enough about our travels in Quintana Roo, the Mayan people are some of the hardest working people I have encountered in travels they really want you to enjoy your stay. The areas archeological sites, variety of birds and beaches provides something for everyone.
Family friendly atmosphere. Quiet location. Accessibility to beach and pool. Very clean. Loved the gardens. Ability to visit other Royal hotel restaurants for free. Easy reservations in restaurants. Close to stores and attractions. Availability of recreational activities. Kitchen complete though we did not really cook. Laundry facility available for minimal charge. Along Quintana Roo easy access to public transport, church (coz we don't forget to thank God during our vacation), tour shuttles no problem picking up for free.
I was reading a lot of feedback about a beach in Catalonia Royal and yes - definitely this is the best beach I have been to in Mexico so far in Quintana Roo - turquoise water in high sargasso season (no sargasso there). Great is also you can book catamaran trip which I really loved (thank you for it;)). Food is fantastic as you can choose daily from several restaurants - favorite was an Italian one with the best pizza in the world. I enjoyed a lot all animals living in the garden under apartments part.
Cancún
Great location in front of mercado 28 (best price of quintana roo, 20pesos the wallet), great taquerias at the corner, also a pollo asado and supermarket, banks all around mercado 28. Also there is an awesome italian style pizzeria with basilic Rooms are super clean, hotel looks new. Digit code, late check in. a/c and fridge 5min walk to park las palpas, 10 min to ado or walmart
this hotel is very comfortable and has everything you need for nice vacation in Quintana Roo. it’s well located (1h30 from Cancun airport and 30 min from Tulum). it’s extremely quiet, the staff is very nice and the food very good!
Fantastic hotel, fabulous beach, in the center of Cancun. Top swimming pool, very kind staff and excellent cleaning of the rooms
Great location. We really loved the character of the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic and staff was friendly and helpful.
location, beachfront and facility.
Tasty food Cold and good 2 big pools 3 hot and comfortable jacuzzi's Huge bed and big space room with a gorgeous view to the ocean Nice air-conditioner and a fan Hot water in the shower Low price compared to the quality of the hotel Amazing staff and perfect gym The all inclusive is a must add. The food is delicious and the Japanese restaurant in the evening was off the charts. 10/10 would recommend
they did the request that i ask as was a happy birthday cake for my mom, all of them was very kind and helping
everything is like a magic place
PEACEFUL, SOULFILLED RETREAT This was my first family vacation as a single mother of my 2 boys and the location was ideal for them and myself! I loved seeing the early rising of the sun. I got an ocean view, beach front room so I was super excited and satisfied.
This place is amazing !! We had such a great time! The hotel, the room and the beach club, were incredible! And the work they did on the decoration is really beautiful and so cosy. Such a relaxing place to stay as a couple! We ate many times in the restaurant because the food was so amazing, specially the breakfast! For us definitely the best in town! Try the avocado toast or the special French toast with the local honey! Little tips, take your breakfast in front of the beach on a sun bed :) Thanks to all the staff! Everybody was so nice and attentive to our need. A big big and special THANKS to Sofie, Damian, Kiki and Charlie for making our stay so perfect and unforgettable!
it was really lovely enjoyed it
